"she wears wayyy too much makeup, she must be insecure" yea, ill tell you as a female, and someone who can actually hold a real conversation with women. We wear makeup not because we're insecure of ourselves, but because its a fun thing to do that makes us feel better, its called 'Self Grooming'. Men do it when they want to style their hair, or brush up bits and pieces like eyebrows or even clothes. Its a healthy thing to want to make yourself more presentable or pleasing. the only thing this poor excuse of a man needs to fix is his ugly and sickly persanality.

Usually this phrase is said by a man who is a stranger and I personally am always a little on guard with not accidentally pissing that demographic off (don’t want to be followed home/yelled at/hit etc. on the off chance they’re unstable) Also in my experience, I’ve never heard a guy be told he would look so handsome if he smiled by a random woman, so it does seem to be a gendered thing where mostly women are told to smile by strangers in public. She could be having a terrible day and it shows on her face, and instead of it coming across as a compliment, it’s a nagging reminder of the expectations for women to be beautiful and presentable at all times, to be reminded that she is a spectacle to this man, an object to be admired/altered to his liking.
Though I’m sure some women don’t associate the cultural baggage of femininity with this comment and do appreciate it as a compliment. At the end of the day, I personally wouldn’t say this to a woman I don’t know because it feels weirdly demanding. I would probably just tell her she’s pretty!

Props to Hoolio for defending his friend lol.
I was playing with my friend once in a duo, and this other player in the match got mad at them and in the EGC said "Yeah we're all in a SWF and think you're bad"
And I actually got so pissed off at that, I went off on the guy for lying lol. He should've been so embarrassed. Just imagine being that much of a baby, you're willing to lie to attack someone else's confidence.

This extends to literally anything entertainment related. So many sub-par dudes complain that women can't be more talented than them and that people only want them for their looks. They don't realize that this idea also means that women have to try harder than men to get recognized for their talent, and the ones that aren't conventionally attractive get completely ignored.

Being a mom myself with two kids, this is absolutely outstanding. I'm a full time mom, carer for my son and yes guys, if you are unsure ask us, we be more happy to tell you its not been easy for us women on twitch. But instead of making up accusations which isn't clearly true just ask, I've already put my answer up!.. Females have more hard time on twitch and be successful and I've been on the platform for many years.. I follow more men than I do with females but that's about to change. If your a good female streamer and you got the vibes I'll drop by and say hello but and yes Aaron is 💯 correct that Twitch platform is Male sided. I have seen strength in huge female twitchers by lurking, hearing their stories how they become successful and it motivated me before I started to stream on the platform. Unfortunately because twitch drama on daily basis I quit twitch to take a long break and hoping my ideas will work this year and yes us females have ideas too believe it or not lol we all work hard to achieve our goals. But achieving those goals as a female we work twice as hard just like any other creator do. Can we stop being sexist just for once and open your eyes! We are like you! We're trying to grow not because this and that. Stop with the drama and the sexism but instead can we just support each other! Twitch will never change unless you make it change always support your fellow females and males no matter what sex they are 💞

2): I will vouch for what Aaron has said about women on twitch. I used to stream and I rarely used a face cam. Just my mic and gameplay. I'm a woman and i'm reminded of that monthly. I haven't been successful on twitch. I've got less than 400 followers and the stress was getting to be too much for me. I've had to delete one VoD because it was a jackbox stream and the randos that joined it kept making sexual remarks to me, including and I quote "loose enough to be a car hood ornament". I already had/have self esteem and self image issues.... That just destroyed me that day. This people watching you are enjoying you☺️ as for the trolls, hit that ban button! The ban hammer is a streamers bestfriend. Their goal is to tear you down and take away your joy, I know it’s hard but don’t let them🖤 ban them and know that they aren’t even speaking truth. They’re lying just to get to you. I think we CAN acknowledge that Women do have an easier time growing on Twitch. On average, they have higher retention rates, higher discovery, Twitch as a system does everything it can to boost women, and give them a leg-up on competition.
My own numbers have been up by 500% since I came out about my transition.
But we can acknowledge this reality without being massive douchebags like this TTV. He went way too far, way too quickly lmao.
Edit: this is an average. You'll find far more men on both the highest end, and the lowest end of streaming. It's the bell curve at work.

There is no statistical evidence that shows that. There isn't a bell curve on Twitch as 200k channels out of 9 million average 10 viewers or more. 1 woman in the top 100 and 32 in the top 500. There are 4 million women on the platform, and out of 9 million total channels only a million are affiliated and average 3 or more viewers total.

@@teamashengaming Okay, anecdotally speaking, my viewer retention and my view numbers both grew when I came out as a trans woman. Literally just streaming, as a woman, made my numbers go up. So.

Men like the sexist will say the most horrific shit about women and then still wonder why they're single. Thanks for calling it out Aaron, and huge props to Tayy for how she handled this.
