If anyone sees this, Don't mount the nozzles with a plastic zip tie, which will melt and move instantly...if you must use zipties, use metal ones. I've witnessed fires that melt the pull cable, disabling the whole system
Perfect timing for the video. I just pulled mine out of the box yesterday. Same kit from the same guy too. I planned on putting the lever on the opposite side so I can reach and pull the pin before racing without having to get out
This video is extremely timely! I'm building my first rally car and just mounted my tank last week (but brought the tank back inside due to the cold weather). I got an electric ignition and ran the wires, but my control box (from OMP) seems to be defective so that's throwing a wrench in the plans. Tube bender arriving in the mail tomorrow. My setup requires 3 nozzles in the cockpit (2 on the driver footwell for some reason) and 3 in the engine bay. My platform is a Fiat 500 so it's SUPER tight space especially in the engine bay so I'm not looking forward to that part. I'm going to use metal U brackets like what you would use on the outside of a house to hold down conduit, with a mix of metal zip ties and rivnuts depending on which spot. Just like you I've got a huge backlog of recorded video and no time to edit it because of how much work there is on the car. In my case I'm racing winter to get as much done as I can before the icicles start forming in my unheated garage.
FYI for capping that pull cable off, you can probably get a cable end at any bicycle shop. They are just little aluminum nipples you crimp onto brake cables and whatnot. Basically free and they work really well. Press on
Hey, I’m 18 and joining the Air Force while I’m in I’m going to try and put together my own car or at least start getting into it. I have done races with my G 35 up here and I’ll ask her where I live but for somebody like me coming out of the Air Force do You know of any where I can go to join a team or to get started in the industry
The best way would be to join the North American Rally group on facebook, find some events that work with your schedule and offer to crew for people at the events. It's pretty difficult joining a professional level team with limited experience and there aren't very many pro teams in the US, so getting your foot in the door and meeting people at events is your best bet. Good luck, I started rallying when I was in the Marines with a super busy schedule, so it can definitely be done!

The problem is then you cannot undo the cables in case of anything.
Been a minute! The GC8 is dusty!! What does the fire suppression system use? My memory is telling me that they did away with AFFF and Halon.
Yeah they went away with it this year, the new budget setups have a water based ABF foam in them
All things considered that's a value for money kit. I paid $60 just for a longer pull cord.
What heater core did you get?
It’s a generic jegs heater box, the next video to come out will cover the install and the one I purchased.
@@DirtyGarage I saw some on JEGS that looked like they would work. I will check out the video when it comes out. Thanks.
