In my eyes, Oda never has to apologize for a spotty schedule. He is a genius, and has been pushing himself to the max for so many years. My mans deserves a break. It always sucks finding out One Piece wont have a chapter a certain week, but its a small price to pay for the amazing story i get to experience as i go through life.

For anyone confused about the sea level rising from the incident, earthquakes can cause sea levels to rise! Shifting tectonic plates can cause the bottom level of the ocean to rise in places thus causing the above water level to rise. Earthquakes can also cause the physical land to drop, in turn making it look like the sea level rises instead. All of that still doesn't exactly explain the giant bottomless hole in the ocean, but it is a fictional world after all. Some things just exist haha
Yeah people having a problem with a bottomless ocean but are fine with Clouds that are islands. It's weird adventure fiction, weird stuff gonna happen, doesnt need a real life logical explaintion and people might not know in-universe eitheer and thats fine too 😊

The events that made the world tremble happend at Egghead, the earthquake was even ignored by the population. So is not the earthquake but is another thing made by the strawhats.
I want someone to make Fan Art of York doing the "I wanna Live" with the Gorosei standing in place of the straw hats and the straw hats in place of CP9.
Given they seemed ready to cave on fulfilling York's wish, a video on "How To Become a Celestial Dragon" would be kinda neat. Just spitballing ideas on what one could feasibly do/provide that would be big enough to quite literally be elevated to godhood in the eyes of the world and its government.

Doflamingo couldn’t become one again even after killing his father, who the celestial dragons would’ve seen as the corrupted one. They were still going to kill York instead of making her a celestial dragon. It took Imu wanting her to create something for their island destroying weapon to consider becoming one, so I think it’s a short list
From what I understand, Celestial Dragons are direct descendants of the 20- I mean, 19 families who comprise the World Government. You can't just become a CD, you're born one. Maybe the Gorosei never meant any of this and are just egging York on (no pun intended) to make her do what they want, and dispose of her afterwards.

This reminds me of when Luffy just snatched the Den-Den-Mushi with the call to Big Mom and basically threatened her. It would not surprise me one bit if he did the exact same thing here again. Just threatening the Gorosei while they are under a siege ordered by those Gorosei.
After reading the latest chapter, I have to say that the Mother Flame is a foreshadowing of what might come in the arc where Luffy fights Imu. Several arcs have the Straw Hats trying to prevent mass casualty events (Alabasta, Skypeia, Fishman Island, Dressrosa, Wano) and if Imu uses the Mother Flame to destroy multiple islands and the consequences of doing so endanger the whole world then Luffy will do everything he can to stop him. Luffy won’t just become King of the Pirates, he will save the world.
Not only metaphorically, but literally save the world and the people on it from being submerged in water and drowning. Especially if there's random df users in the world cause I'm assuming there's at least some citizens with random dfs
The ocean rising is key because if the ocean keeps rising everyone has to set to sea and become "pirates". More importantly we already know Joy boy was building arks (in fishman island) to ferry people
Note: The weapon is not mother flame. The chapter points out it’s the engine or power source that has the mother flame designation . That powers the weapon. The translation I read made it seem that way.
I’ve been saying this since mother flame was introduced. Even Vegapunk can’t recreate the effects of an ancient weapon created in the void century, presumably by minds on the level if not smarter than Vegapunk. Even the word “mother flame” indicates a significant relationship of warmth, i.e a power source / engine for a weapon which is most likely Uranus. It is not a coincidence earlier during Egghead Vegapunk spoke of an infinite energy source that has yet to be replicated. Prior in the story the Gorosei mention “Great floods” which is probably the beginning of the Void Century caused by Uranus before the infinite energy source was destroyed.
It's always pretty cool to see characters we haven't saw in ages and enough marines to put a buster call to shame jesus man also that last panel with the crew looked so cool standing above York while Lucci in the background thinking he's apart of the squad lmao
Not to mention Pluton being kept at the original Wano (which was around even during the Void Century years ago), the entirety of which is now underwater.

I alway had this crack (clichéed) apocalypse theory that the One Piece world is just our earth after catastrophic climate change which caused such a rise in the waterlevels that instead of large landmasses there were only hundreds of islands left

What happened to Lulusia reminds me of when Enel thunderstruck that one Sky Island and that was a massive hole. I know it's not the same thing, but it reminds me of that. And maybe even some of the islands that got sunk by the World Government became homes to the Merfolk and Fishmen.
The power to strike descenting citizens down with lightening always read as foreshadowing to me once we read what they did to Lulusia so I think you're right!

Enies Lobby discussions have a long history in the One Piece community. I really didn't except today's chapter to just give us an answer for the hole in Enies Lobby. It could've been a different weapon than the mother flame. The island that was located there must've been something important.
I love seeing the crew altogether and we are reminded that they are a yonko crew by having them already defeated the seraphim and they got vegapunk back. It was hilarious to see York being on top world in previous chapters to begging for help.
I love it, they get assurance from the Gorosei that they need York alive, now they have a hostage of value and unlimited access to the most advanced tech in the world. Top tier 🎉

I have a feeling that when makino's son meets luffy , it's gonna reflect tye scene where shanks have luffy the hat. So some time after luffy becomes pirate king , luffy will visit his home village, meet the kid and gives him the hat . It be a Beautiful parallel.
No, the straw hat is not luffy’s to give. He has to return it to Shanks. It’s being borrowed, and he has made that point dozens of times in the series. He’s not giving it to anyone- he’s returning it to shanks.
All these breaks are bad for my heart. XD I too was shocked when I noticed Robin, Stussy, and Kaku weren't present in the double panel. I liked the smiles that Zoro and Nami had when while York was crying to the Gorosei.

This chapter felt like a joke. In the BEST way, the whole world is in an uproar and the Strawhats took a casual W and having lunch on the phone with the leaders of the world. This shit is hilarious

If the sea level rising turns into a world ending scenario for One Piece, that means that things like Iceberg turning Water Seven into a ship is actually very important. And he said that right after Enies Lobby. Not to mention that Enies Lobby was always the strangest island in the entire series. It's the only weird island that Oda never bothered explaining.

I have so many questions. How is the hole not being filled up by the water? The water level wouldn't increase, it would definitely decrease to fill that hole back up. Although the world quake and tsunamis would still have devastating effects and cause major changes.
Perhaps Mother Flame doesn't necessarily destroy like a laser but more like a fantasy "push", throwing all the water around the island out and annihilating everything in the contact area. But it's good to remember that this is One Piece, realistic logic doesn't work so well.
Y'all must've forgot that vegapunk initially failed and only completed the laser/radical beam after getting his hands on kizaru's df's bloodline element. Franky completed the laser/radical beam with just vegapunks old incomplete research.
Franky will cut corners Vegapunk won't, needing cola as a power source would have been much more severe of a failure to him than the dragon fruit with just a different color.
My assumption as to why the hole never closes up would be something akin to the ancient weapons possibly being either connected to devil fruits or having being fed them? We already know that devil fruits break or bend reality in certain ways, Blueno's door-door fruit is a good example of this where he essentially creates a pocket dimension in the air. So for lack of a better description this mother flame or Uranus could be the "hole-hole" fruit so it just creates holes in an area, and since the water level rose assumedly the water from said hole was pushed to the side meaning it's entirely possible if you got to the bottom of the whole the island is of Lulucia is just down there, maybe not fully intact but just moved downwards.
I like this idea Edit: To add to that, remember the people of Wano had to keep building on top of itself because of the rising sea level? Is it possible they had to do this because that was around the time when the Enies Lobby hole was made? 🤔

At first I thought the rising tide might be caused by water displacement from that huge hole in the ocean. But that doesn't explain the 6-day delay or the earthquakes. Something's up with that.
Imu is confirmed to be an enemy to geography itself. He must be stopped! Side note: I loved how Usopp looked holding the reciever to York. The rare times he has nothing to fear are about as peak as when he's stuggling for his life.
Random thought, but with the increase in sea levels over the OnePiece world are there life vest in this world? Because I feel that a good life vest could dramatically cut down on the mortality rate of Devil Fruit users near large bodies of water.
It's strange that there is a new hole in the ocean, but the sea levels have risen everywhere. I wonder if the "lasers" fired by Uranus are actually high pressure water jets, they can even cut steel sheets. These jets could explain why the ocean levels changed. Maybe even why the One Piece world is mostly water.
It could also be that instead of being evaporated the water that was where the hole is was pushed out of the sides into the oceans causing the levels to rise but that entirely depends on how deep that hole is and how big the one piece world is for that to make sense
It's not strange, even an island-sized hole is very very tiny compared to the rest of the world so it would take a lot longer than six days before enough water has poured down there to even notice a drop in sea level. On the other hand, earthquakes can cause the sea level to rise due to shifting the tectonic plates and essentially raising the ocean floor.

As of where I am in the video right now you haven't yet covered it, but this makes it very possible Kuma joined the 7 Warlords and got experimented on to keep her alive because they took her hostage. Also little girl might hint that she's not even an adult currently which might be why her IQ is similar to Luffy and rushes into things emotionally.

I also hope that any "solving the situation flashback" doesn't take more than 1 chapter in total: yeah, an emperor's crew managed to find and confine York, who also was the only reason why they had to fight against Seraphims. It's also unsurprising how Lucci and likely Kaku just decided to chill and wait until anything happens to decide what to do: they're not stupid nor (as it seems) willing to straight up die for the government. a bit of a throwaway line in this chapter: The statement that Bonney is just a little girl has me thinking, is she actually just a child aging herself up and the gorosei knows of this because of their ties to kuma and his family? that would explain why when she was shot out of the water she was launched on to the ship in child form, because since she was in water she couldn't use her devil fruit and thus that was her true form.
I figured that the place in the North Blue shown to demonstrate the size of the earthquake was Vegapunk's old island because of all the metal and snow. Edit: You know, where Franky spent his 2 years in.
Vegapunk might've just recreated Uranus accidentally. We know it is possible to remake them, Spandam's whole plan to get Pluto's blueprints was based around that and now they pretty much have an ancient weapon. It might lack some features compared to the real one, but it gets the work done, doesn't it?

Chopper does have a bounty poster but it's just racism like what happend with the fishman they were once regarded as just fish. The Celestial Dragons probably consider Minks as pets that can be owned by a human. So if you are a Mink or Chopper with a human crew you're owner gets the bounty increase of your actions. If you are a full Mink crew like the Nox pirates then you will get a higher bounty because they probably see you as extremely dangerous animals.

That said...if the sea level rises by 1 meter, how many times was it used in the past? Enies Lobby certainly comes to mind as well. It was predictable, but Saturn's order to sink evacuating ships was stone cold. Sparing Bonney on account of her being a little girl was unexpected though. Given that they said "no longer any use", was she a hostage for Kuma before?
What if ennis lobby was created the same way as lulucia was destroyed. And the reason that it doesn’t fill is because it leads to center or earth/ laughtale(like journey to the center of the earth). That’s why WG built ennis lobby on top of the hole. And they’ll probably try to protect that hole they just made as well.
Another special feature of Enies Lobby is that there is never a nighttime. Could this have also been caused by the Mother Flame harnessing the power of the sun in some capacity

Enies Lobby has been Never-night long before that. I have a long shot theory on Enies Lobby. How long has it existed? I feel like we all assume it’s been forever but what if it’s only existed for roughly….40 years and was created after a certain incident where another landmass that “never existed” once was. A certain Land of Never Night. A Land of Ever Sun. A Land forever touch by The Sun…nay…by The Very Gods Themselves….a Valley if you will.

From what I understand, Celestial Dragons are direct descendants of the 20- I mean, 19 families who comprise the World Government. You can't just become a CD, you're born one. After reading the latest chapter, I have to say that the Mother Flame is a foreshadowing of what might come in the arc where Luffy fights Imu. Several arcs have the Straw Hats trying to prevent mass casualty events (Alabasta, Skypeia, Fishman Island, Dressrosa, Wano) and if Imu uses the Mother Flame to destroy multiple islands and the consequences of doing so endanger the whole world then Luffy will do everything he can to stop him. Luffy won’t just become King of the Pirates, he will save the world.
Not only metaphorically, but literally save the world and the people on it from being submerged in water and drowning. Especially if there's random df users in the world cause I'm assuming there's at least some citizens with random dfs

Note: The weapon is not mother flame. The chapter points out it’s the engine or power source that has the mother flame designation . That powers the weapon. The translation I read made it seem that way.
I’ve been saying this since mother flame was introduced. Even Vegapunk can’t recreate the effects of an ancient weapon created in the void century, presumably by minds on the level if not smarter than Vegapunk. Even the word “mother flame” indicates a significant relationship of warmth, i.e a power source / engine for a weapon which is most likely Uranus. It is not a coincidence earlier during Egghead Vegapunk spoke of an infinite energy source that has yet to be replicated. Prior in the story the Gorosei mention “Great floods” which is probably the beginning of the Void Century caused by Uranus before the infinite energy source was destroyed.

What happened to Lulusia reminds me of when Enel thunderstruck that one Sky Island and that was a massive hole. I know it's not the same thing, but it reminds me of that. And maybe even some of the islands that got sunk by the World Government became homes to the Merfolk and Fishmen.

Enies Lobby discussions have a long history in the One Piece community. I really didn't except today's chapter to just give us an answer for the hole in Enies Lobby. It could've been a different weapon than the mother flame. The island that was located there must've been something important.

I have a feeling that when makino's son meets luffy , it's gonna reflect tye scene where shanks have luffy the hat. So some time after luffy becomes pirate king , luffy will visit his home village, meet the kid and gives him the hat . It be a Beautiful parallel.

I too was shocked when I noticed Robin, Stussy, and Kaku weren't present in the double panel. I liked the smiles that Zoro and Nami had when while York was crying to the Gorosei.

If the sea level rising turns into a world ending scenario for One Piece, that means that things like Iceberg turning Water Seven into a ship is actually very important. And he said that right after Enies Lobby.
Not to mention that Enies Lobby was always the strangest island in the entire series. It's the only weird island that Oda never bothered explaining.

My assumption as to why the hole never closes up would be something akin to the ancient weapons possibly being either connected to devil fruits or having being fed them? We already know that devil fruits break or bend reality in certain ways, Blueno's door-door fruit is a good example of this where he essentially creates a pocket dimension in the air. So for lack of a better description this mother flame or Uranus could be the "hole-hole" fruit so it just creates holes in an area, and since the water level rose assumedly the water from said hole was pushed to the side meaning it's entirely possible if you got to the bottom of the whole the island is of Lulucia is just down there, maybe not fully intact but just moved downwards.

It's strange that there is a new hole in the ocean, but the sea levels have risen everywhere.
I wonder if the "lasers" fired by Uranus are actually high pressure water jets, they can even cut steel sheets. These jets could explain why the ocean levels changed. Maybe even why the One Piece world is mostly water.
It could also be that instead of being evaporated the water that was where the hole is was pushed out of the sides into the oceans causing the levels to rise but that entirely depends on how deep that hole is and how big the one piece world is for that to make sense
It's not strange, even an island-sized hole is very very tiny compared to the rest of the world so it would take a lot longer than six days before enough water has poured down there to even notice a drop in sea level. On the other hand, earthquakes can cause the sea level to rise due to shifting the tectonic plates and essentially raising the ocean floor.

As of where I am in the video right now you haven't yet covered it, but this makes it very possible Kuma joined the 7 Warlords and got experimented on to keep her alive because they took her hostage. a bit of a throwaway line in this chapter: The statement that Bonney is just a little girl has me thinking, is she actually just a child aging herself up and the gorosei knows of this because of their ties to kuma and his family? that would explain why when she was shot out of the water she was launched on to the ship in child form, because since she was in water she couldn't use her devil fruit and thus that was her true form.
She had her child form in the ship leaving the reverie so maybe she just stayed that way when they shipwrecked in the giant eddy. We don't know.
I just wanted to say man, your enthusiasm and goofy humor has been awesome to watch over the last few months. I'm excited to get back to a weekly pace

What striked me as strange was that Doberman included Chopper in his count of the strawhats, given afaik Chopper is still seen as a pet by the WG
Chopper does have a bounty poster but it's just racism like what happend with the fishman they were once regarded as just fish. The Celestial Dragons probably consider Minks as pets that can be owned by a human. So if you are a Mink or Chopper with a human crew you're owner gets the bounty increase of your actions. If you are a full Mink crew like the Nox pirates then you will get a higher bounty because they probably see you as extremely dangerous animals.

What if ennis lobby was created the same way as lulucia was destroyed. And the reason that it doesn’t fill is because it leads to center or earth/ laughtale(like journey to the center of the earth). That’s why WG built ennis lobby on top of the hole. And they’ll probably try to protect that hole they just made as well.

I don’t know. It seems they only recently got the Mother Flame which is why they only recently used the weapon (if the theory of Mother Flame being the energy source of the Weapon is true). Enies Lobby has been Never-night long before that.
I have a long shot theory on Enies Lobby. How long has it existed? I feel like we all assume it’s been forever but what if it’s only existed for roughly….40 years and was created after a certain incident where another landmass that “never existed” once was.
