It is awesome to see, that a lot of people still try to get their devices fixed, instead of throwing them into trash. The percentage of easy fixable devices is great. It is always worth giving it a try!
Yes. I agree, and the upside is, we don't fall into the trap of feeding the tech giants just like they want us too. Fix what you have before surrendering and handing over your hard earned money. Big tech don't really care about their customers. All they want is your money. Pure and Simple.
If the chip shortage and exorbitant pricing of chips continues like this, people will figure out how to repair individual transistors within the chips.
Can an iPad 11 pro that is bent be fixed it works perfectly just wondering if it can be made flat again I didn’t bend but was in a keyboard case and must have got bent ? Kind regards joe
3:13 one hand holding the tweezers with the wick. Second hand with the iron. Third hand blowing hot air. No wonder why Alex gets the job done every time 😃
Ahhh another video from North ridge fix so glad Alex is back how I missed these videos without them there ain't much to watch while I take my lunch break .A massive WELCOME BACK ALEX .
While you were on vacation I bought some things from your page and I just want to say that it is the best purchase I have ever made, thank you and I will buy again and tell your Dad thank you
Hi Alex, regarding the tips, I've watched some videos abt it, its better to hold it on board using soldering mask, scratch its surface after its dry, then apply solder. And thanks for your amazing videos.
This was the replacement pads that REWA was selling. I suggested few videos back. You have to use solder mask for keeping them stuck in the place to the board. It would be the better than factory experience. 👍
Am really pleased with myself, my electronics repair level is next to nothing. I had a bad connection on my old but very good phono pre-amp, at first I thought it was the very fine wires from the turntable to the pre, I soon discovered it was the actual phono sockets. I took it apart but could not see any broken traces or dry joints, I used my recently purchased flux and re-soldered all the connections. I have this channel to thank for my successful repair. My next step is to replace all the caps, bridge rectifier, certain resistors and some diodes on my TT power supply, it's pretty much replacing like for like but for me it's quite an undertaking.
If I were inspecting by eye those new trace pads, I wouldn't be able to tell simply by looking they were not the original pads initially lost. Great idea!
hey brother! about the small pads, you can use some UV mask to strap it in place, then remove the excess from the top of the pad! it just stays there forever, and with your soldering skills, these things will work like a charm
Those look like the replacement PCB traces I sent over -- very nice to see them in action by the hand of the master! In the demonstration video the manufacturer uses a tiny bit of UV solder mask underneath the new pads to glue them down. But maybe some day I can take some time off my day job and vacation in LA to come work in your shop for a few days. :)
Wow 😮 those tiny pads look really tricky to attach. Great video and as always a better than factory job. When I do repairs and I’m having a bad day or the repairs are not going right, watching you gives me the motivation to continue the hobby I love.
Utmost respect to Alex for teaching all the tricks on diagnosing and fixing. The best as far as I know. So much knowledge through this channel. Anyway on making pads i like Alex’s original way of making them from jumper wires.
Very interesting and good to watch. I am sure by now many have been shouting watch the commercial video on youtube. They use solder mask to stick in combination with solder.
I've been doing this for years, only difference is that I cut my own traces with a scalpel, this thing sure is more convenient, but it wastes so much good copper tape. If the traces were "printed" denser it would be perfect.
hey i told you this in a comment in one of your videos and is not new it is a more than 25 years old technic. i'm now glad to see you using highend board repair technics.
These pre-form kits have been around least a 4 decades (maybe 5 or more). They definitely help with high volume trace repairs. It'll be nice if the product demonstrated is revised with both more readily usable product per area as well as slightly thicker material.
Amazing work. Really better than factory. Alex you are a real pro. I am curious whether you will continue to use these new pads. Thank you for the little shop tour and of course thank you for the video. Greets
I saw that kind of pads lugs but in bigger sizes, hard to work with (way more difficult on the size you're using), but i think those are useful. Thanks for share your work!
Amazing Job.. those new paths are great... HI from Uruguay... I'm trying to learn something with your videos. Your knowledge and experience are awesome...Like always better than factory
Glad to have you back Alex. Family time off I hope it recharges your batteries. Amazing how much work you have to do. Thanks for taking the time to share with us your work and family
Just a little tip, You have to apply little layer of mask under the replacement pads use it as glue to consolidate the area then mount on your dock connector
legend ive leant so much watching you even gave me the corrage to solder a new joy stick on my xbox 1s controler u legend good to see u back sending love from the uk
Nice fix. I was doing 3ds charge ports on ebay and they more often than not had pulled pads. I like the new pad replacements you did. Again great work here
Good job Alex, Brilliant jobs... That's what kind job you work is motivation me to get my own self taught do repair devices as much I can learn from beginning to professional in few days later... Cuz you did good preach of Surgery electric doctor lol. Thank for sharing... God bless all... Don't Flux with Mr. Repairman like us that we are electric repair doctor too .. :)
Wow, I've seen these pads a while ago in a commercial video I was going to ask you what your opinion was on them. But I forgot and now I can see if they REALLY work in reality. Thanks again for your quality content, Alex!
Glad you had a nice time off with the family at legoland. Also glad that you are back to an obscene amount of repairs to do. Popcorn at the ready! your microscope is very good makes your job easy
wow this fix is fun to watch and learn. so nicely done with alex explaining his tip changing and even demonstrate a new item his trying with us. thank you
Haha, I learning about electronics by watching this Dude here. Initially I had no idea of how to test capacitors etc on the board. Now I know. Thank you.
It is awesome to see, that a lot of people still try to get their devices fixed, instead of throwing them into trash. The percentage of easy fixable devices is great. It is always worth giving it a try!
Always good to do your part to reduce e-waste

@@ThePCHandyman9 Agree, very often problems are easy to be fixed, however there are not many qualified people as Alex is
If the chip shortage and exorbitant pricing of chips continues like this, people will figure out how to repair individual transistors within the chips.

Second hand with the iron.
Third hand blowing hot air.
No wonder why Alex gets the job done every time 😃
It's a blessing having a third hand but sometimes I forget that I have one.
the 3rd hand is for slapping customers that try to do a solder work on their boards and ruin it then bring it to alex
Hahaha 😁
Hahahah exactly the same thing I thought while watching that scene🤣
Big boss needs his own camera so that we can enjoy the disassembly of devices.
I guess we could agree with this.
Very good idea. Disassembly and Re-assembly is a wonderful skill in itself.
I agree, too 👍🏻
He may be camera shy. I also don't think he can do commentary while doing his job as he seems like the quiet type.
You're right
Love how you say “we” instead of “I”. I feel like I’m part of your team
Glad you're back. Missed my daily fix of NorthbridgeFix. 😁
Wow the light that you are using is so good. It makes the quality of the picture much better.
great to have you back doing your videos again. hope you enjoyed your family break.
Ahhh another video from North ridge fix so glad Alex is back how I missed these videos without them there ain't much to watch while I take my lunch break .A massive WELCOME BACK ALEX .

I remember send you a link from youtube with a video made by REWA regarding this exact pads repair. What an awesome job with this. You are great

hey brother! about the small pads, you can use some UV mask to strap it in place, then remove the excess from the top of the pad! it just stays there forever, and with your soldering skills, these things will work like a charm
Wow excellent job Alex!! Better than factory is an understatement thanks for the video and lesson.

Better than factory is an understatement, excellent job. Glad you got some time off and spent it with your family.
Great job sir. Liked the way you switched the light to bring the colors of the board.
Utmost respect to Alex for teaching all the tricks on diagnosing and fixing. The best as far as I know. So much knowledge through this channel. Anyway on making pads i like Alex’s original way of making them from jumper wires.
You are a master of your profession! Thank you for your videos.
Those new pads look really nice. Once again a great work, Alex. Glad you are back 😊
Good To See That You Take Care Of the Smallest Things Too.
Love the Copper Pads. Looks very Good to handle. Nice Idea and nice Repair! Thank you
Very interesting and good to watch. I am sure by now many have been shouting watch the commercial video on youtube. They use solder mask to stick in combination with solder.
That was an awesome video, really enjoyed the little shop tour including Big Bosses bench.
I've been doing this for years, only difference is that I cut my own traces with a scalpel, this thing sure is more convenient, but it wastes so much good copper tape. If the traces were "printed" denser it would be perfect.
If you are careful with the peeled off tape, you can cut many more traces of various shapes and sizes out of it with a fine scalpel.
Good idea. The copper sheet could be cut to make more traces.
Welcome back hope you well rested missed your videos but family time more important another top video ❤
Great to see you doing better than factory work👍
Better than manufacturer. Will have to get those pads. Hope you enjoyed your holiday
hey i told you this in a comment in one of your videos and is not new it is a more than 25 years old technic. i'm now glad to see you using highend board repair technics.

Exactly, then scrape a little bit of solder mask if the pad is hidden under it and do rest of the work. Hope that Alex will see this comment.

love from the uk
Nice fix. I was doing 3ds charge ports on ebay and they more often than not had pulled pads. I like the new pad replacements you did. Again great work here
Welcome back Alex, great to see you :)
WOW! the traces to replace missing pads are amazing. Can't wait to see them on the site
Also, you need to ask the factory to make the pad a little longer. If excess, it can cut the pad off.
Love it, how on earth you keep track of your workload and make videos amazes me
Nice work!
Good to see you back.
Those soldering strips are a good idea. Will hopefully make future work on ripped pads much easier to fix. Nice work once again.
Welcome back, master.!!
missed you a lot :(
That smile after fixing somthing, amazing ❤️❤️
You are the best! Greetings from Dominican Republic!
