We were amazed at how clean everything is and how nice the people are compared to the Sacramento area. Nobody was clutching their purses, kids playing nicely at the park. To me, it was like stepping back to my childhood in the eighties. I love it here.
Good luck and have fun in your search! Relocating is an adventure and a tremendous amount of fun. It's exciting!! Make lots of mini-trips and look at several potential areas. We found the taxes in ID were better, but not that much better, than CA. After much study and deliberation, we realized MAJOR tax and cost of living savings moving to western WY, instead. Reno area was also on our shortlist but lost out due to high crime.
Have you considered other places than Idaho? Medical is not great in Idaho, Boise is becoming a metropolis with a Democrat Mayor to boot. Utah and Missouri are great and better cost of living.
NorCal retirement expat to WY. Excellent points and great advice! The big move IS an adventure! It is very exciting. We didnt move much stuff, simply bought new furniture in WY and sold off/donated our CA things. After six months we are just beginning to build a few sparse, thin relationships with new friends.

Vote Republican. Don't try and change Idaho. Let Idaho change you.
Appreciate the grace and sincerity. Thanks again Craig.
Appreciate you watching!
What a great and sincere interview. My husband and I are still in the watching and learning phase, but we’ll be following suit soon.
Happy to have you guys here. Are there videos or questions you’re wanting to see or know that I can do for you?
Significant laws or regulation differences between ID and CA. I see all of the raised planting beds, is that a regulation, or?
@@veronicareilly6457 There are literally gay men and women on probation and parole in Idaho for consensual same-sex relationships between adults.

Another great video - thank you both! That idea about the emotional aspect of moving & doing a vid on it sounds good!
Thanks, I agree with you- it’s something I’ve been thinking about doing for awhile. I’ll get it added to the queue.
What a great person.
Leave your politics in California. Don't try and change Idaho, let Idaho change you.
manners matter.. welcome to Idaho :)
Couldn’t agree more!
@@livinginidaho cheers :)
Glad you escaped California. Just do Idaho a favor and please don't bring any California ideas and/or politics with you. Welcome to freedom.
@Campzzyzx You Marxists keep throwing around that word like you know what it means.
Just don't bring CA politics to ID
Craig, I know I'm being the grammar police - but it's "he and his wife" - NOT "Him and his wife."
Idiahonians moving to CA
Please bring your politics with you 🇺🇸
