Thanks for the insights to your workflow, that is very helpful. But I got one question: how do you deal with those empty spaces/corners when creating a modular asset kit (those 20x20 spaces)? Would you create a dedicated 300x20x20 space filler or move the walls finally to the outer side (which would reduce the room space)? Or do you recommend to put a bigger space filler so that it will not look to monotonous? Would be nice to see a follow up on this :)
I will often create a 20x20 pieces to fill in the gaps such as borders, trims, fillers. For corners I may sometimes create a large full corner wall that takes care of it so I would have straight walls then a full corner piece with walls. But it depends on architecture style. In other situation you could get away with as you mentioned, moving the walls to inside but I don’t like that very much as it makes the space smaller.
Im trying to build my first portfolio piece and I want it to be a sci fi technician workshop and I can imagine how it looks in my head but when Im about to blockout - I don't know I get somewhat scared? I think its because I want too much but don't know how to build it exactly? Anyway, Im greatful for this video! Hope you will do more like these in the future :)
OMG BRO your channel is a godsend, you are speeding up my level design like crazy!!!
Very useful, thanks! I'm just replacing Maya with Blender and Unreal with Unity everywhere in my mind while following.
Great, would love to see a follow up of what you pick first to detail.
your video is good my friend pls share more prototyping videos and also enviroment conversion videos!😄🤔💟
