Nice presentation. As I already have an RV500, I don't really need the RE202. This Dm 101 is another story. I never knew what to do with the 5-pin Midi din on my RV500, but with Delay, I think synchronisation is important for a set with rhythms, although it's a shame this new pattern contrasts with everything else in my set. Maybe it'll work with my JDXA and Circuit Tracks.

I always thought the Moogerfooger analog delay was probably the holy grail… and then Boss said “hold my beer”…. I don’t know what’s left to be done in analog delay world after this!

I bought the DM-101 and really love it, but I kept my old crunchy Memory Boy Deluxe, because it has a send/return for the feedback loop. Put a chorus or compressor or simply an eq there and new worlds open up. Only mono though. I would love to see that option on a stereo BBD pedal. No one did this as far as i know. (Also with plugins this is pretty rare, so powerful though). So this is the only thing I can imagine beyond the beauty of the DM-101.

It sounds awesome I have an old Yamaha Rs7000 sampling groove box
Which has a peculiar but a fantastic type of delay generator called
Midi delay its not really your typical delay effect it works by adding
delayed midi notes to your original piece of music at your required
time like any other delay but its all done by midi so its not sampling
or splitting and delaying and adding, it creates more midi notes and
offsets them to your original piece it basically sounds like you
have played the piece of music and the delay, you can also
pitch the delay to any note you like in semitones maybe at a 5th
or an octave and because its not sampling or using any of the other
techniques you don't get the drawbacks like degradation aliasing
changes of the length of a sample due to pitching and time stretch
    artifacts etc etc.
Its the best sounding way of generating delays that i have ever
come across there,s nothing like it and it will work on anything
with a midi connection from a drum machine to any vst.

Interesting. I’ve been really happy with my Asheville Music Tools ADG-1, but this seems like it’s going in a different direction. More like a delay workstation - 8 bbds is crazy!

@@StarskyCarr my first ever delay back in 80s was an Echopet EP-50 BBD delay. It had a switch to change line level inputs. Noisy as hell too. I guess this Boss is quite quiet?

@@StarskyCarr the only other pedal I've had trouble with concerning limited headroom was an EHX Memory Man, it was the version with the sought after BBD chips in it... I ran a Ken MacBeth M3X through it, this synth is a 3 oscillator analogue monster monosynth, loosely based on a Minimoog...I actually sold the Memory Man for quite good money a few months back, don't regret it, tbh. I had a spare vintage Boss micro rack RDD-10 which the M3X now goes through, sounds much better than the M3X, to my ears anyway.

Personally my favourite effect is chorus so guess I’m hoping they do a maybe bit of a cut down version that’s stereo in& out that’s focused on Chorus (.. then maybe I can retire my pretty noisy ce300s😉)

A passive reamp box is a worthy investment for anyone who wants to get into pedals. I need to get a second JCR Reamp box for stereo situations (I haven't found a stereo reamp with a single knob for gain so two mono reamps ends up working the same).

I run synths into the Waza BBD devices... and yeah, it is easy to distort with hot synths. But i simply turn down until it sounds like i like (or leave it hot, and use the grit). And that is the charm of BBD devices. You dont get this leeway with most digital boxes. But yeah, also, the Radial reamp box is so perfect for synths > guitar pedals.

I bought it because it was cheaper than the stereo delay demoed by Ricky Tinez of which I cannot remind the name. I hoped I would get the same thing. Received it and was meh. I then compared with Ad9, Dm2 Wazacraft and mf104. Turns out while being the cleanest and most versatile, it is also the blandest and most neutral / less poetic / less inspiring. Kinda disappointed musically, no magic in that box. Filters are very clean, do not have the musicality of the others. Even the DM2 has a little mid resonance crunch that the mode doesn’t have. Mf104 is the king because it sounds exactly how a bbd should, the tonality of the feedback distorsion is perfect and the longest mode is really really good. The ad9 is pure poetry albeit being a one trick poney. Also has a very solid low mid. All around a good, ultra clean bbd delay, but no magic. It sounds like they tried to control everything that can go a little over the top to give it personality and I am not sure I wouldn’t prefer echoboy or Valhalla delay. Outside of the very feint bbd thing that still comes thru a little, not a character or creative box at all. Clean and reliable utilitarian pedal though.
