A JetBlue Airlines performing flight JBU355 from New York J. F. Kennedy International Airport (KJFK) to Ontario (KONT) just started its takeoff roll on JFK's runway 31L when other aircraft EDV523 noticed that the JetBlue's number 2 engine was on fire and emitting sparks. The flight crew was made aware of the fire and they were able to abort the takeoff. The fire was out by the time rescue crews arrived but other aircraft reported the engine number 2 was glowing.

Your number two is glowing. Another regrettable day after Taco Bell

😂😂😂
congrats you win the internet :D
The JetBlue pilot on the radio sounds as stressed up as Fred Kwan in Galaxy Quest. 🙂
Obscure reference. Back to the drawing board.
I knew exactly what you meant. I love the reference.
@@RLTtizME He did give you the Galaxy Quest hint.. At least it wasn't a problem with the Beryllium sphere.
@@samuelseager6785 Seems that certain people on the chat have reached a much higher level of douchebaggery.
@@samuelseager6785 That doesn't bode well for you. Best not mention it.
Are we sure it wasn’t smoke coming from the F/O’s DV window, 🚬, sounds very mellow 😂
Sound exactly like DJT slowed down to .75
@@theypeedonmyrug 😂😂😂
@@theypeedonmyrugI just played it back at .75 and just couldn’t stop laughing 😂😂😂
"inspecting the #2 engine, its a little hot, no smoke, no fire"
Nice cooperation there. Pros all around.
To : superskullmaster ; Thank you ! I'm not an aviator , actually never flown and never will . I'm 74 and very interested in the mech. part and why things fail 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Slow talking pilot sounds like someone I know, who is a pilot. Gotta find out if he's working for Blue.
Excellent and relevant communications all round.
People are already trying to somehow blame this on Boeing
Well, that is the current Internet comment section punching bag of choice. I'm surprised Boeing isn't being blamed for the high price of eggs at this point...
🤣 it was there fault fake doors 🚪
@@buckhorncortez Their planes don't lay eggs fast enough! **ARGL-FARBL!** I demand to see the Head Egg Laying Plane so I can demand higher production!
LOL.
Yeah, no, it's not Boeing's fault, they don't make engines and they don't do maintenance on engines. So yeah, fair enough. Doesn't change the fact that their quality has gone down over the last 10-20 years, because they've put short-term profits ahead of long-term sustainability. And that is only sustainable for so long. It looks like the consequences of Boeing's corporate greed are finally catching up with them. The problems run deep, and other than the millionth Corporate Speak press release reiterating for the nth time how committed they are to quality while changing nothing, I honestly don't see how they can turn the ship around. Boeing's strongest weapon in competition with Airbus is the 'cheap' price of its planes. And if you want to sell cheap, you have to produce cheap. And if you have to produce cheaply, you usually cut corners. They simply can't raise prices or they'll lose a lot of customers. So nothing is going to change for the foreseeable future.
These are engine failures, not Boeing failures. When doors fall off the aircraft, now that’s Boeing !
Well done! A potential S-Show avoided by good comms.
Why dose Jetblue 355 sound like hes 102?
No APU???
No....those have been removed from all AirBus aircraft to save weight.
It was probably MEL'd. I'm not a jB pilot or an A320 pilot, but at my airline on the 737 it's possible to dispatch on non ETOPS legs with the APU out of service under the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) Most airplane and most airlines have extensive MEL's which allow dispatch with certain equipment inop.
If I were riding in that Airbus I would want the APU to be working. What if both engines, not just one, catch on fire?
@@elderbob100 In the 3 airline AC I'm type rated in, the fire extinguishing systems are powered by either the battery bus or the hot battery bus. I can't imagine Airbus would do it any other way. So you don't need an operational generator to discharge the bottles. If you did, you wouldn't be able to write an MEL that allowed dispatch with no way to power the fire extinguishing systems.
Excellent all round✈️👏
5:36 Cleared. For. Takeoff. After an exceptionally interesting "line up and wait" LOL
Didn't someone say that there may be debris on the ground?
Pilot sounds zoned out..
I was not the co-pilot on this flight.
Me either,what a coincidence.
Jet Blew another engine.
Clever.
If shitty a Tesla can have multiple cameras, why can’t a multimillion dollar aircraft have couple of cameras looking at externals of the aircraft than having to ask various people to see what’s happening to their aircraft!
Like they don't have enough to monitor in the cockpit...
I’ve often wondered the same.
@@darkiee69they don’t have to monitor the cam, just access when needed.
@@bodystomp5302 And when needed, like in a situation like this, I promise you they're really busy with other things.
@@darkiee69 They dont have to spend their time on other things... IF needed.
On Jan 21 it is reported all on board miraculously survived and no one can understand how.
Interesting . . .
121.65 is also a DFW Ground Frq.
Thanks for reporting the sparks from the engine after the fact captain. Smh!
To : magnum ; So , the Mel powers the mech'ls for the control surfaces , landing gear etc etc ?????????.
The right engine..
i can't believe they didn't have an APU
The JetBlue pilot sounds like he took some tranquilizers ("Downers") before he got on the aircraft. ☹
Amazon work by all and the other planes helping out this is what avavion should be about all being together as one not arguing with each other.
Number two engine? We don't need no stinking number two engine!
🤣 yep 👍 keep flying ✈️
😂 I wonder how many know where that “we don’t need no stinking” originates.
Right!@@sallybrookner4158
When did Floyd the barber get his pilot's license?
Well, at least it happened while on the ground and not while taking off and the delays wasn't as bad.
Correct! It's better to be on the ground and regret because you're not in the air, than to be in the air and regret because you're not on the ground....
Just the other day, an Airbus in England filled with smoke and returned. Another Airbus missing wing fasteners were noted by a passenger, so the airline switched planes LOL Media here did not cover it. Only In EU. A smoke-filled cabin is as bad as it gets.
nowhere do they say it is a boeing
Crickey was it rush hour is it usual yo have four plsnes lining up like that get the other plsnes moved or towed out of way thankfully the fire engine could move to saftey and they needed to check runway.
Dont they have vans sny more that frequent runways eith recordered bird sounds anymore
Jet Blue pilot needs to stop taking Valium before flights.
Sweeping for bird debris.
No APU on that shitwagon ?
😂 you don't need 4 engines keep flying
But this is a two engine plane, so without half its engines it'll have a hard time getting off the ground.
Yet another sign of rampant stagflation and recession. Airlines are skipping engine maintenance schedules.
The JetBlue pilot sound like a simpleton.
Is jetblue pilot drunk?
No apu?????? What powers if both eng's fail in flight ?????
The MEL
Google it you keyboard captains

A stewardess in a hamster wheel.
JFK atc speaks way too fast ,with poor english .
This time they were very accurate ,just too fast
The JetBlue pilots were NOT all that professional. The F/O said "the second engine is on fire". Stupid. It is "left" or "right" OR #1 or #2....or 3 or 4 if you have more engines.
