You are such an amazing Mama and I know as a fellow allergy Mama it is so stressful. Just wanted to give you some encouragement to keep up the good work!
One thing that helps in our house with some children that have food allergies and some that don't is to make a separate basket or area in the pantry and fridge. Don't make the allergic child or children feel left out rather make it a positive that they get the "special snacks" that no one else gets because their tummy has different needs. In regards to your other kiddos not getting things they like can you reserve it until she's napping or she's in bed and then pull those out of the top of the pantry where she can't see them? I feel like our kids seeing stuff they used to be able to eat and then not allowed to eat it anymore caused SO many tantrums because they just didn't understand. So we just hid it away and they didn't know it was there anymore. It's not a long-term solution, but it may help until she gets used to things.
I can’t imagine how to navigate through the special menus needed. That would be so hard. Hopefully they will find the source of the problems and a solution or they will outgrow this soon. I can see why it would take the joy out of meal planning and cooking and be so stressful. Prayers always!
Prayers for Layla and you as you navigate. Food allergies so tough. I have anaphylaxis kiddo to all nuts. He has some sensitivity to eggs but that has improved with age. Just keep reading, researching and trying. You are doing your best. Gluten is hard as so many things have it. Things you never think of. I have friend with kiddo T1 Diabetic and celiac disease. I know it took time to find a rhythm for her and her other kids as well. But they did. Great job momma!
Maybe get her some special plates or utensils or such for when you give her her “special food. “ Maybe take her and let her pick them out. Even though she can’t have the same foods maybe if she has her food on her own special plates, bowls etc. it will help her to enjoy it more. You are doing great and it will get easier for both of you as time progresses. 😊
Hi Tiffany. I can only imagine how overwhelming Layla's issue can be for you, but I have to say from someone on the outside looking in, you're rocking this new food limitation. Give yourself some grace. She's a very lucky little girl to have a momma who loves and cares for her as much as you do.

Our oldest has a milk allergy and I just changed the entire meal plan for the entire family. It was hard at first but everyone is used to it now and it’s not a huge deal we’ve found alternatives for most things 😊
Yes if it were one thing it’d be a lot easier - but she cannot have so many things, unfortunately. I’m so glad that works for you! ❤️
Allergy stuff is hard, especially when they had it before. But it does get easier. (I've been there). Also, if there is a Costco near you, they have more allergy friendly foods. Our costco and Sams club are an hour away so I tend to make one big shopping trip, inside for costco and pick up for Sams.
All ours are over an hour away but we do have a membership.

I was born highly allergic. When my mother received a list of everything I couldn't eat, she realized I could actually die from malnutrition so she introduced tiny amounts of forbidden foods. Yes, I had reactions but by the time I was a teenager, I could eat most things. Hope that eases your mind a little.

Love the Canyon breads my Costco carries them and I find it to me pretty inexpensive compared to other places.

Clearly it is going to be a challenge to manage meals now. There is a UA-camr, Jessica at Three Rivers Homestead, whose oldest child has anaphylactic allergies to all dairy, peanuts, and more. She and her husband have eight children now. Due to his allergies being life threatening, she has none of those foods in her home and the entire family eats the same food. I guess it isn't a big deal for them because the son was diagnosed as an infant and the following children were always fed the same as him. In your case, it is certainly not going to be easy but you are a fantastic mother who does whatever it takes to have happy, healthy children. I have do doubt you will figure this out.
Yes that would have been a lot easier to have it out before even being introduced.

I feel for you momma ❤️ We're going through a similar situation with one of my daughters. Only hers is a gallbladder issue. She is older than Miss Layla (24) but she's still struggling with finding foods she can eat. Prayers!

It is much easier if the whole house does the same diet restriction. At least until her belly is better and then introduce things back slowly.
It’s not though. Because it’s one kid who can’t have stuff versus a whole house of people who can still have stuff. And everything she can’t have is almost everything. The list is so long of what she can’t have.
If you were to do the gluten free diet for everyone it is to expensive I tried and I'm the only one gf so I just do it for myself , not to be rude reallifehomemaking3679 just want to comment
