great video as always! Would be interesting to me if you could put up the local time on the screen continuously, so we can see how long each step actually takes. would be neat :)
As a professional drummer I really enjoy your point of view, especially the catering section lol. Anyway, I’m really thankful to my drum tech and appreciate the massive job you guys do for us every night and it’s really sad that sometimes no one notices the importance of what you do. Btw I see all your videos till the end! (Sorry for any mistake, I’m Italian :)) Cheers!
What a luxury for Luke, or any drummer for that matter... been doing both jobs at the same time for 30 years. This is the life. Much respect bro. Greets from Portugal
As a drummer still in high school, these videos hype me up and inspire me so much. I love watching them to see how drummers set up their kits and how you take such good care of them. Keep up the good work, these are awesome.
Hyped! Thank you so much for making these. The longer the better, and your editing is very enjoyable too. I wish more people working BTS on gigs took inspiration from your videos.
I'm a drum teacher here in Curitiba, I just love your videos, I use them as part of my classes, so future drummers can see all the work and love it takes to be a drummer, on and off stage. Thank you for your videos, they are awesome!
Thats awesome! I dont think a lot of kids know that working behind the scenes is a legitimate career path as well. I appreciate you sharing with your students!
I covered for a famous band before playing guitar for a couple shows a while back. I always felt bad that i was not able to help setup coming from local shows so it was weird for me to sit in a green room running through songs. i get it, but it was strange to have someone who knew exactly the setup i needed with guitars to play an arena. It was something else to rely on the guitar techs but they knew what was up. it was amazing to help with strain playing a 2 hour show compared to setting it up...THEN playing the show and breaking it down. it was an experience to say the least. good job on drums my man.
I know it’s the same job everyday, but these videos truly don’t get old. Appreciate you taking us on the road with you and showing us what you do! Really enjoying these!!!
Just found your channel Matt and it's great. I had a magic & illusion show for years, and it was a lot of hard pre-show work. But this humbled me. People just don't realize the well oiled machine of technicians working behind the scenes on a show this size. You guys are true pros and make it all happen.
I saw you guys in Tampa and you guys were so damn efficient. Also tried shouting at you, but it was super loud that night. Drums sounded insane. Thank you for posting these.
I was like "I'll just look into this video a bit" and sat there and watched the whole thing. Being a drum tech or any instrument tech looks really fun and exciting job tbh. Thanks for showing us!
Watching that forklift lift your riser onto the stage had me holding my breath, lol… Watching for the slightest teeter and sigh of relief when it was safely on the stage 😅 Got all the way to the end, love seeing the process from start to finish! Please keep these vids coming!
that "oh my god" moment with the rack tom just validates everything i do with drum tuning AHHAHA i love you for sharing what you do, man! Keep the videos coming :D
Hi Matt. Thank you for another cool video. I watched all the way through. I was a local stage hand for 14 years and am also a hug e fan of Luke Holland so your videos have twice the appeal to me. Its like having a flashback of being at work and it's a positive flashback. Seeing Luke's set up in these videos feels like a privelige so it must feel like an honour to be the person that gets to take care of them daily. During load in, I was shocked to see you and the local crew guy go straight for the handles when lowering the smaller case that was riding on the drum case. I was taught - never trust handles on cases. Thanks again for sharing your videos. Be safe and have a great tour. Cheers
I have said it before, thank you for making these! The editing and the flow of the videos are really impressive, stoked everytime a new one is released.
I watch all your videos from start to finish. I love the drums and have been fascinated by them since I was 4 years old. Thank you for putting these videos together. 🥁
I watch your videos all the way through from beginning to end. It makes me change the way I play drums and set up. Keep posting more videos on tour! They are great
An hour video?! Let’s fucking go! Love your videos man! Just how organized & the attention to detail in your craftsmanship. Amazing… simply amazing! Found your channel about 2 months ago. Always look forward to your content. And seeing other good techs like pip (beartooth) doing the damn thing. I’m sure you get comments like this all the time but thank you for taking the time to share what goes on behind the scenes & your hard work. I have a deep appreciation for touring techs. Keep the good content coming. 💯
Brotha! Being a touring drummer/ tech myself, I’m truly stoked every time I see you post a new video. They always go by way too quick (even though they’re long videos). Thanks for taking the time to make these man
I was at this show and watched you work the entire time. Very interesting to see the changeover from your perspective after sitting in the crowd for it!
Keep ‘em coming, bro! 😎🤘🏻🥁 Love your POV videos. So interesting to see your backstage routines, workflows and interactions behind the scenes and even during the shows - says a pro drummer here! 😊
Awesome stuff as always, Matt. Watching these vids are so helpful for any drummer getting into touring and just overall maintaining your kit properly to get the most out of it. Keep up the great work brother 🤘🏽🤘🏽
I was working the San Diego gig and you killed it during line check! It was a privilege to help out. I was so focused on working I didn't realize you were here! Keep up the good work bro!
I love this type of content, and I would love to do what you do someday. Thanks for this perspective, it's exactly what I would want for this type of video! :)
Love all the videos so far, great behind the scenes look at being a drum tech on the road. If I had my time over again, it's something I would definitely have pursued (even for only a few years). Looking forward to the next video. Cheers.
Matt, thank you for that as always very interesting to watch „Drum Tech POV“ episode 👏👍🙏 Of course I made it till the end… Okay, I have to be honest, I stopped at 1:01:56min to write this comment 🤪 But yeah, I‘ve made it that far and it wasn’t boring one single frame 🥴 But this episode was a little bit on the short side, so if you could: Please make the episodes longer 😀😉 Just press record if you start your day and stop the recording when you‘re back at the hotel. And then upload this clip to UA-cam 🤪 (And yes I know, editing is way more work than most people are able to comprehend) Thanks again and best wishes from Germany 🇩🇪, Philipp 👋
The YT algorithm brought me here and I was simply intrigued with your video I didn’t even recognize the band your on the road with I just saw in Austin Tx this past weekend with Avenged Sevenfold. That being said I enjoyed these last 2 videos, really get to see and appreciate the work stage hands and techs do. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Very professional work ethic Matt! I really do love the stage and playing the big shows. Should I EVER be in need of a drum tech. Your top of the list :)
Hey Matt, it is cool to watch a pro do something I have done hundreds of times. Not a big fan of the pitch bend. I like to tune the bottom head a bit higher than batter so that won't happen. But, it all seems to work well and you clearly know how to tune quickly and effectively for your drummers. Your videos are fun to watch.
Awesome video man! I love your content! I’m a young drummer, I’ve learned so much from watching your videos and experiencing what really goes on behind the scenes. I hope I can be doing what your doing someday bro. Would be absolutely awesome to hear your story and how you got to where your at today as well. Keep up the awesome work my guy!🔥😎🤘
Allthough the scale is somewhat bigger (as a Dutch drummer in a alternative band i played big stages and festivals but this is all a serious level above that) all the rest Matt does really hits home.... did all this stuff myself so often i dreamt about it! all those stuff in flightcases and bags..the vibes backstage....I love setting the drums up, changing heads, tuning, doing maintanance...and then the drumming itself ofcourse! Getting strangely nervous again when seeing the moments just before go show! You are a true professional...Great work and vids man!
Was a bit surprised when I heard Avenged Sevenfold play at 27:03, didn't know you were with a band opening for them. They are so fucking great and their new album is amazing! Anyway, really cool video, very interesting to see how this stuff works!
bro personally i have huge love with electric guitars(only with them nothing else) from the age of 8 and now im 30+ and of course i play them, however i love your work, its difficult but very beautiful work! keep going!

great video as always! Would be interesting to me if you could put up the local time on the screen continuously, so we can see how long each step actually takes. would be neat :)
Do you know the reason why you‘re still unable to monetize? Can‘t really see the reason why not? 🤷🏻♂️
Dude is one hell of a drummer!!
I can't imagine the amount of hard work just to put a great show, huge salute to you and to all the crews all over the world!
As a former touring drummer and current sound guy I absolutely love your videos bro!!! Thanks for sharing your world with us
Glad to see im not the only one. audio is the natural path for touring drummers. ill do a drum tech tour hear and there but not like before
From one that "wanted to be" thanx.

Being a drummer but nothing even close to this level, it is really cool to see how these huge shows are orchestrated! Much love! 💚

doggz this guy is so clean with it that he pre-opens the water bottles to make it just a tiny hairline easier to open, this guy is the regime.
Great tour brotha, catch you again soon! 6 shows later I'm spent lol.
Yo good shit Matt!!!!! Loving the series so far
god I love forklifts

your videos just from a musician standpoint are great videos to watch. they’re so interesting to anyone who loves music and live venues
There was a lot of clenching going on during the install with forklift. Nicely executed. stay safe J.
I age a few years every time I watch it go up and down lol
Thanks for the video man ! really cool, and you know what, I watch this before getting to sleep and they re really calming in a way. Keep them coming

I watched every minute of this enjoyable video. Amazing stuff.
Pure professionalism so fun to watch, I am always able to find some hacks or some kind of practical drum magic 😁
IT'S A LUKE HOLLAND DRUM KIT, AMAZING!!
Proper way getting shit done! If I ever had a chance to drum tech for some bigger touring bands I'm pretty sure will do the same as you. Great job!
Extraordinaire ! Merci pour cette super vidéo .
