  • Welcome back to Mind Pump TV where we cover all things Health & Fitness to help you on your journey to reach your goals!
    In today’s video, Eugene is talking all about the Snatch Grip Deadlift. This variation can allow you to have a larger range of motion with a wider grip, putting your back into a position to work harder than a traditional deadlift. Eugene covers everything you need to know from the technique, why we like it, and how you should be doing it.
    Setup
    - Place feet below bar at mid foot/where the middle of laces on shoes are
    - Place hands at a comfortable wide grip
    - Nearby the rings of the bar to your preference
    - Think of bringing shoulder blades down towards back pockets
    - Tensions Lats
    - Pretension body against the bar
    - Pulling bar just enough to hear weights clink against bar
    - Lift the bar by pushing away with your legs

    I love Snatch-grip Deadlifts! You activate the lats, upper back and traps to a greater degree while using a bit less weight, so you make so much more out of less weight especially for hypertrophy purposes! These and Trap Bar Deadlifts are my two favorite deadlifting variations.

      Do they have good carry over to normal deads? Or would you say the added deficit is overkill with the snatch part being already deficit enough?

    My favorite DL variation. I also love muscle snatches to add some power component to the pull.

    Great video! I love doing these. But, with your lower body doing these vs. deficit Deadlifts, does it seem like it's about the same range of motion? Of course the difference is the hand placement. I know sounds crazy, but just wondering what you all think.

    • @IWantToStayAtYourHouse
      @IWantToStayAtYourHouse 2 роки тому +4

      Snatch grip deadlift recruits more upper back musculature. So if you wanna focus on upper back than snatch grip is great

    Practical movement. Most heavy objects we are going to lift are going to be large relative to ourself which will require trying to grab around it.
