I had a 2000 Jeep Cherokee not a Grand Cherokee plain Cherokee. Four-wheel drive. It's shift into four-wheel low and it did have a neutral also. And of course 4.0 6 cylinder and power windows and air conditioning. The dealer never cleaned up and it had 170,000 mi on it. Not a bit of rust on it and the frame was good. The surface rest only. I took it home. I drained of course the oil and put a new filter on new oil. Then I had drained the transfer case and front and rear axles. I filled them with what was recommended from Chrysler at that time😊. The transmission fluid stunk that's all I can say. So I drained it. I can't remember if there's a filter in there or not cuz I've done so many of them but I did clean it up. There was no metal onto the magnetic oil drain so I figured I was all right. I put in the transmission fluid that was recommended in the owners manual. The color was kind of a silver gray and I washed it real good about 3 months after I had it. And then I got some 3M buffing compound. I did it inside the garage to keep it cool. I hadn't buffed a car out since like 1975 and this was 2005. So I was quite surprised is how well it came out. I drove that Jeep for about 5 years. The sound system that comes from the factory is just great. It's got like nine speakers. I had two big dogs a yellow Lab and a big lab and all my tools. Acceleration was great. I drove it back and forth from Omaha, Nebraska to cedar Rapids, Iowa on the weekends cuz I had a job in (a wonderful place )Omaha. I never had a problem with that jeep. I put a little bit wider tire on it and I never got stuck and I tried to sometimes you know how it is. The Jeep that I drove and the one that the gentleman is discussing in this video. I guess there's some kind of cult that buys those and loves them. I replaced that jeep with a 4-year-old 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD crewcab Short box four-wheel drive that was loaded. The only thing it didn't have was a sunroof. It was from a company and that did business in Northern Florida and Georgia down south. There was no rust on it like the vehicles that you get here in eastern Iowa. Then I had to sell the Jeep and the guy lived near me. Every time we went to the grocery store I saw that thing and it's here come under my eye. Thanks for listening to an old man ramble. Could somebody help me down from the soapbox so I can go refill my gas bag?
    out of miles too

Yeah there is definitely some cult following out there for the Cherokees a little less for the Grand Cherokees. I myself have built a lot of the Cherokees and currently have one highly built that was used for competition rock crawling but now is just a trail rig. Then I have 3 more right now just for parts.
