Thanks for sharing! Almost ready to purcha$e
Really enjoyed your video. I'm close to purchase. Just waiting on a March bonus.
I had just got a NLR GTTrack rig around Christmas because I just didn't realize you could get motion for this kinda price. Since then I have already swamped my Reverb G2 / Logitech G920 for a Meta Quest 3, Asetek Invincia wheelbase, Forte wheel, La Prima wheel button box with round comfort rim, Simagic DS-8X shifter and an inverted Simagic P1000i-RS pedal set with hydraulic brake and haptics. In 2 days with the new equipment I'm not really a whole faster, but I'm a TON more consistent.
Still thinking that the DOFReality P3 is the way to go? I'd buy it with their Sparco R333 seat. I don't know if that comes with a harness or not. And, gotta figure out how to motion compensate with the Quest 3.....
(Anybody want to buy a used GTTrack rig in about a month?)
I am still very happy with the P3. I have now gotten in to real racing (SCCA, now own and race a Formula 600 after doing some Spec Racer Ford Gen3 in 2022) and use the rig a lot for practice.
Hi.. You ended up buying the rig ? If so, did you pay a lot for shipping and taxes? Wondering how much I would pay for New York area...
@@jesusrdz4091 Yeah, I bought it. If you spec out what you want online it tells you the total price including shipping. My total was around $4400.
Nice setup! The ratio of the motor are the same or in front is 1:25 and in the back is 1:50 ?
I'm currently considering purchasing the DOF 3 Pro and came across this video when doing research. How has the rig held up? Anything you would change if you could go back in time and configure differently?
It’s still working great.
Nice! I'm doing my research into DOF Reality. I only fly DCS/MSFS 2020 in VR (not much into racing). Wondering if I should get a H or P, 3 or 6. Any thoughts? I currently have a NLR V3 seat mover that I bought in 2020.
I did a detailed review that might help, here:

For flight sims, I think the 6 may give a noticeably better experience (I can’t really convince myself that it would for road racing, although dirt racing may be a different issue).
I went with the P because I’m a relatively big guy using some very heavy sim equipment, and I use it pretty regularly, but I’m not totally clear on the H vs P trade.
@@brianschmalz7102 Thanks. I will check out your reviews.
Can you feel g forces with this ? Because VR plus Motion can get pretty intense from what I have heard
Yes, for sure (although not typically to the same magnitude). That’s why I got into it in the first place.

I’m now racing SCCA Formula 600 in real life and use the sim a lot as a training tool.
Looks a little bit shaky and unstable. How is the feeling when you fast turn, and the whole setup is so whacky? Do you feel that?
I didn’t actually feel the “bouncing” at all, but I dialed up the dampers a few more clicks, after seeing that in this video myself, to counter that.
Note that I have things turned up essentially to the max. One can turn the settings down, which would being the motion in line with an actuator-based system, but I personally like the strong g-forces.
@@brianschmalz7102 Thanks for your response. Enjoy your sim ;)
How is it with the VR cockpit view, does the head inside the cockpit move forward when braking`?
Not at all with the motion compensation software. It adjusts the cockpit view to perfectly move the “world” consistent with the movement of the rig.
I don't remember my pedals setup being that high like the one you have.
I set it up as a formula car versus a GT car by installing the main “keel” piece upside down (so that the pedals are raised versus lowered from the main keel piece). That also requires moving the wheel supports towards the rear (including drilling a couple extra holes) and a wheel spacer along with a very reclined seat.
In a Reddit thread he commented that he has his car set up for indycar/F1 rather than GT, different cockpit ergonomics.
Does it also transmit vibrations from engine and road texture or only motion?
No. I’d use a buttkicker for that, but I don’t have any experience with one.
@@brianschmalz7102 Thanks.
How do you have your simucube mounted can you show that for me. I bought the hrs mounting system. That is a beefy mounting system.
I use this:

There are other similar options available (it’s fairly basic sheet metal fabrication, not rocket science). The plate on the rig is pre-drilled for this mounting pattern (which I think is Fanatec?) plus a few others.
I think this one would also work (not sitting in front of my rig right now) and may have been the one I actually originally wanted because the mounting holes on the outside would make it easier to tweak once the wheelbase is installed.

I'm going to use this one if it fits.
Seems that is should work.
My only thought us it could be to bug. This holder is 5 pieces and it weighs roughly 5-6 lbs
I think you are going to be okay. There are some mounting holes that are fairly wide (I tried to take a photo and send it, but can’t figure out how to do it).
hi - I have the same rig . Did I see you upgraded to h6?
I’m still using the P3 and have no real plans to upgrade to the P6 at this point. I’m still super happy with the P3 and am not convinced of the value versus cost for upgrading to the P6 for sim racing. I’ve since made some small tweaks to the setup, and have added a sequential shifter, to mimic a Spec Racer Ford 3 - going to give those a shot IRL starting this summer and will let everyone know the comparison for sim versus reality.
hi. how many delay have the platform?
I am sorry that I am not sure I understand the translation of the question.
The platform is still running flawlessly with no issues.
I recently upgraded the gearboxes to the new ballscrew gearboxes that DOF Reality is offering and they are even better/smoother/quicker (I need to make a new video). Shipping to the USA for those took a bit longer, as DOF Reality now has to use a combination of Ukraine Post and the US Postal Service, with FedEx (nor UPS nor DHL) not currently operating in Ukraine do to the war :-( but everything eventually arrived in one package and in perfect condition.
If you are referring to delay between what you see and the associated motion of the rig to mimic the g-forces associated with what you see, there is no (or at least no perceptible) delay at all.
Can you do motion compensation with a quest 2?
So, I don’t really know, because I’ve never tried it with an inside-out -tracking headset, but I’ll give you my opinion.
It definitely works well with base station tracking and motion compensation software. People say it can be done using some tricks with inside-out tracking, but I’m skeptical it is as good.
Yes. You can get a 6 or 9 axis sensor ( BWT61CL or BWT901CL or BWT901BLECL all are 6 axis, so pitch, roll, yaw + roll around X, Y Z axis + three others as barometric etc sensors) that you connect with USB to your PC. Such sensor cost about 13-20 dollars + shipping and VAT.
And then you can have the SRS software to read the motion platform movements and correct it to Oculus driver itself by cancelling out the motion that platform does. You don't need to get the USB connection on that device, as it comes with a four wires that you can solder to any USB cable you have that you splice open.

And then you are good to go when those are correct.
The problem is that you need to have SRS subscription model, that I think is 10 dollars a year.
I am in about a month about to build such a system as waiting shipment.
@o Did you get motion compensation to work? I'm almost ready to buy the DOF system and will be using with a Quest 3.
P2 plus buttkicker or P3?
P3.
