I'm glad Land Rover is keeping their design consistent, classic yet modern in an understated way. This is the direction BMW should have taken
True
Facts!!
There's a reason why BMW went the route that they did. Polarization and press both sell, and they sell a lot.
This car can hardly be distinguished from its previous generation, which makes it look less appealing to a lot of potential buyers and existing customers.
How so?
@@dave_riots agreed, Can barely find a M3 for sale
I love how Doug’s production hasn’t really changed. Simple 4K presentation. Love it.
Doug Happy Birthday!!🎉 I know it's early. I remember yours cause mines the day before! I love Rovers!!!
The thing I love about these new Range Rovers is that they look completely fresh without losing their classic heritage. Oh, and the new interior is absolutely gorgeous.
The interior is absolutely wonderful, but the colour and trim folks have a lot of work to do. The initial interior trim options are underwhelming.
well it looks the same
To an untrained eye, like 90% of ppl including me, it looks exactly the same.
I wish reliability wasnt an issue with range rover. Or else it would be the "perfect" suv.
Range rovers are big sedans...
Nice to see a brand staying away from gaping, gawking grills, vents, and flares

If Range Rover transitions to a reliable EV SUV, I'd throw money at it. This and the gwagon are timeless

Very cool “look,” i agree it looks better with smaller grill & tail lights, less identifying badges etc. 💖💖💖😘
Before I press play on Doug DeMuro videos, I say "THIS" out loud. Feels good.
Thank goodness there's at least one manufacturer that still believes in making a car look good. The others, especially the big grillers, have completely lost the plot.
I'd say ford and Mazda are still making beautiful designs as well.
@@KB-bh9hp Actually yes, I agree with that. Mazda in particular have got a very striking metallic / pearlescent red at the moment, and their cars in that do look pretty good.
@@abarratt8869 Yeah, that red is gorgeous. Not sure what they did different with it, but it's just so eye-catching compared to most other reds which I find to be either ugly or bland.
@@KB-bh9hp I've just looked it up: apparently it's a primer, then base coat with two different types of aluminium flake (shiny and light absorbing), a translucent red colour coat and a final top clear coat. Complicated, but gorgeous!
@@abarratt8869 and with all those coatings they still rust xD
I think this is great. I like the fact that car manufacturers are now pre-making vehicles to keep Hoovie's channel alive going into the future

Perfect if you’re looking to get carjacked at gun point! That is of course IF you can manage to get it out of the shop and off the lift long enough to drive it! Well done, Land Rover/BMW! Another resounding success!
Oh and no need to do costly mods to it: it already has that drug-car look and that VIBE everyone’s crazy about these days!
@@mikedemarchelier9090 Get with the times.. it's 2022..there's enough space behind each door handle assembly for a small PL type system that can be fired with one touch. Guy comes up pointing at your head your acting like your opening the door..one touch. Problem solved.

BMW needs to steal some Land Rover’s design engineers. They’ve managed to stay true to their design while modernizing, not something you can say for BMW.
Yes you can,look at the 5 series,particularly the m5
Bmw has been a sedan and coupe type car it just doesn't make relevant suvs and suvs in general r not good at handling Mercedes suv design is not my cup of tea either
Range has been making suvs from the start so of course every inch of the car will be designed in a way that's engineered to perform well off road while bmw is engineered to be a clunk of confusion
Bmw suvs have only 1 positive things I can mention it's high speed stability on bumpy roads straight roads probably designed to drive on the autobahn and slacks everywhere else like offroad
Wow. Dough is an information blaster
9:02 Not that anybody who buys one of these needs or actually uses it, I'm glad to see JLR will still offer a locking center diff on the Range Rover Sport.
Whatever you think about Land Rover-which most people probably don't do very much (even "car-people"?)-you gotta admit they seem to know their target demographic and fully embrace their role in the market. I do appreciate the minimalism without sacrificing functionality or usability.
I agree. I think they're being pretty smart with what their new models look like. There's hardly any external distinction between bottom and top of the range.
And that, looking as good as they do, is probably a marketing goldmine; it's a great leveller. For some buyers I think they'll feel like they're being levelled upwards, whilst others will definitely not feel like they're being levelled downwards (that's impossible with a good looking Range Rover). The thing is, that that'll hold true no matter which one they've actually bought.
It's still a car for dickheads in the end.
In the UK we think about Land Rover a decent amount. Very common on our roads, in my experience driving in the UK, it feels like a quarter of all the cars around are Jaguar-Land Rover vehicles. Also, I live in quite a posh area that's nearby to some rural areas, so Range Rovers and the new Defender are very common from the posh people yet the old Defenders (Usually "restored" and upgraded versions) are also very popular.
I think a reliability nightmare
Their target demographic is rich people (mostly women) in LA going through a Starbucks drive through
The new Land Rovers all look like concept cars! Are beautiful!

Looking forward to seeing you drive this thing whenever that's possible. Also looking forward to seeing your review of the '23 Telluride at some point too.
Is the 23 revised?
@@AustinMcAndrew Yep. New running lights, a couple new trims, and digital Guage screens.
Off road review is a must homeless Doug must have car looking like it's been through rough times
Great video
Doug’s signature occasional throaty voice is interesting. He makes it seem like he’s talking about something important. He’s the only in the car review business to do that. 😆
Doug is the type of a guy to not mention the fact the new Range is slammed from the factory.
haha noticed that as well
its only for show. the dropped the bags for show. Normally it will be higher. And even higher once the off road modes are selected.
What are you on about? It's standard on all Range Rovers when their warranty expires... This is just a preview of what's to come in the many years of trouble free driving...
I really expected it to have air suspension just on how it looks. 10/10 Land Rover

Surprised no one I’ve watched so far has mentioned the move down of the widow controls. Finally! Alway felt it was odd soo high up
That plug in hybrid trim sounds great.
9:00 Check engine light is already on after 1,300 miles. Brilliant... Classic...
I was looking for someone to mention it.
Lol. On a serious note though, it's a pre-production model, so some things may not work well just yet.
Check engine lights are always on when the car is in accessory mode… to make sure the bulb still works / wasn’t removed.
@@Jowurel Shows how many kids are in these comments who have never drove a car 🤣
The check engine light works that's a sign of reliability at last
Very elegant vehicle. Not too flashy. But still with enough class
It’s a thorough bred thorough tour in thorough detail from thorough Doug
My 1989 volvo had lights on the seat buckles!
The boxy L322 is still the best.
Starts around $83,000, but will be selling for around $383,000 in today’s market.
And then for $38k immediately after the warranty expires.

Number 1 quirk about this vehicle is that the check engine light comes on after it leaves the factory.
😂😂😂
As someone who has driven exclusively RRovers sense 2006…I approve this comment 🤣 still getting one tho 🤷♂️
do you use a laser pointer to direct your camera somehow? I see the camera seeming to center on a laser but i can't figure out how you do that, if in fact that's what you're doing
It would be nice if you could sit facing fully forward when testing the rear seats to get a better idea of how much actual space is available.
Looks breathtaking. Great job!
In Spain the sport is the de facto range rover. The big ones are so rare that we identify this as the flagship
In Spain, people who buy them are so dumb they dont even realize the "normal" Range Rover is not a lower trim but a but an entirely different model from a superior segment.
Cars are soooo much more expensive in Spain 😔
isnt the adaptive cruise control the same as the Toyota Crawl Control?
I love that it has the check engine light on. Lol
It looks like a regular Range Rover customized for some influencer/ rapper. Something you’d see at the Sema show few years ago with its grossly oversized wheels.
This will definitely age well. A lot of cars look ridiculous 20 years later even though they were “state of the art” in their day, but this car actually looks like it’ll outlast that
Looks might survive for 20 years. But not much else on a Land Rover does.
@@sashoxxx lol I was gonna make the joke like “this car actually looks like it’ll outlast that. Crazy to think I’m saying that a Land Rover with outlast anything

@@johnf817 I've had a 2016 Discovery 3.0 V6 from new. It's now on 92,000 miles and I've had no reliability issues at all. I'm not saying Land Rovers are totally bullet-proof, but I think the bad press they receive is over-hyped and unfair. I love it and I'm trading it in for another one in September.
Doug hinting the Defender V8 review is coming soon…nice!
Thanks Doug, was hoping that you'd review this one. It looks AMAZING!!
Doug could be invited to review the Queen's Bentley and he'd still show up in cargo shorts and a t-shirt.
So cool. I really wait for the 1st all electric range rover with this new design language. 👌
It’s lit Doug not lighted but lit 🔥
Wonder if it actually comes stock looking it's already on coilovers?? Because that's what it looks like here wheel gap is insane for a stock vehicle. (in a good way, just having trouble believing it comes that way)
Most rovers have air suspension that can make it super low or high enough to go off road
It enters access mode when you turn it off, once you start it up it will raise back to normal. Land Rover is also doing a bit of design trickery, the fenders extend beyond the edges of the wheel, so on the inside there is plenty of room left over for wheel articulation and turning
Thank you Land Rover for producing a grill that actually looks good!
Hello I am also called Ethan and I also think this car looks great! 👍
I am considering buying one of these, but i have one curiosity, i live in a cold country, does this car come with remote car starter and heater ?

That's an outstanding RR Sport 👏 👌 is sexi..the question is...is the SVR is coming or is it discontinued due to CAFE restrictions 🤔?
They probably will offer an SVR within the next 2 years, the 4.4 twin-turbo V8 from BMW is capable of a lot more power, I don’t know if they’ll still call it an SVR anymore though, but I imagine they will as there’s spy shots of an SVR/ Bowler Defender.
I am dying for a new SVR in the sport! My guess is they will wait until they get all of their quota for the first edition, then release the SVR sometime next year. The motor they will use is already in production (BMW'S P-530), so it's not a CAFE issue. I was told they don't want to release all the new models all at once, gotta create some anticipation/excitement for us seasoned owners. I put a deposit down, hoping maybe in the fall they will start taking orders, which used to be how it went, but who knows anymore. To think they would discontinue the SVR, would be tragic, given that there are so many people like me now who own/want a supercar suv. The first edition is a dumbed down SVR imo. Stupid, but I get it. Plenty of people want that little piece of special ownership. I guess wanting/owning the SVR isn't much different.
@@shesthe1foru But if they release the SVR will it over 600 hp since they are using the BMW 4.4 powerplant at least 605 hp 🤔?
@@Offensivebeast So they taken away 5.0 litere V8 that was shared with the Jaguar F-type😳😲😥😖😫🥺noooooooooo...lol
@@johnblack4915 unfortunately, but you can still get it in the current Defender, but I imagine not for much longer.
