So, do you DUPE... or have you duped in the past? Whether you have or not how do you feel about it all? I personally duped so dang much 2 years ago that I likely will never have to again, and I can get on with the messy business of exploring 16 Quintillion planets relatively unimpeded.
I don't dupe, but in this game your duping has 0 impact on my game, so dupe away.
I have never duped, or recreated any kind of glitches or nothing (i olny have 100 hs, and i dont know that much) only grinded all day, but if you want to dupe because you consider grinding a waste of time and preffer to do something else meanwhile that is ok, everyone has its own ways to enjoy the game!
As long as the dupes/cheats don’t affect other players experience it doesn’t matter to me. It only affects how the duper plays then I see no issue with it
I think people can play as they want to play... Enjoy the game how you like... I Dup from time to time, as you say to spend time doing what I enjoy... And I often have a bug that happens that wipes me out in another way... It's balance, while there are bugs I will use a dup... As it's a bug...lol
Love this. My only problem is the people that talk so bad about duping, then turn around and glitch build LOL Like wait... isn't that 2 wings on the same bird? hey, but I don't judge.
I've resorted to duping or editting saves in the past due to those odd glitches such as the one where your ship would randomly plummet through the ground and get stuck or exitting the ship after landing on the anomoly or freighter ejects you into space. I edit to reclaim those items that were effectively stolen from me. Only other time is to get just enough quicksilver on a new save to unlock those cosmetics that I personally think should be account based unlocks given the time and cost to get them, each save does however have to earn the eggs legitimately.
It's not a competitive game so I think that gives people a lot more "moral" wriggle room about making use of glitches to reduce the time it takes to gather stuff for base building or whatever.
I used dupes to get good money, then I also used save editing. But after doing it I found it boring. Made a new save. Afterwards I did trade, had fun with it. Later I made a new save with indstriel Mining, it was fun setting ip up, but again too easy, lost interest.
At least you tried it and found out it wasn't for you. I can respect that. I have a second save just in case I get bored with the main save.
Hell yes I dupe. I don't care how others play, but if I can save dozens of hours of grinding, I'll do it.

I always joke about duping/looping/all things related. I dont do it, but I really dont care how YOU play the game. I am a PieRat Through and through. Give a freighter to bust open, a Sentinel Mothership to destroy, all day everyday
(EDIT) should have watched the whole thing before opening my mouth. I do use some "Exploits". Speaking of the Portable refiner, I use that thing in my Permadeath like it is going out of Style. When "looking" at your Portable refiner you DONT take any hazard damage while in it. So landing on an unknown planet that "might have storms" I NEED to have the Portable refiner on me, storm hits I throw down refiner in middle of WIDE OPEN field and I survive the whole storm on Permadeath
Oh wow! That's definitely a cool workaround, and I DEFINITELY would do it if I played perm. You probably escaped definite death with that one.

Bro, I download Origins and the second planet I stop at is that one. I can get the coords but not til the AM. Pretty dope.
My take is play your way the only time I have an issue with exploits is when it's PvP then I see it as cheating
I agree with you on this... If it doesn't effect other players then have at it. But, if you're glitching your starship and shooting people down or something like that I'm not a fan. But, other then that I'm all for doing what you wish.
I only have a problem with duping when it effects my experience. The beauty of No Man's Sky here is that you can dupe all you want and it will never effect anything for me, so have at it.
I wish more people would come to this realization. It doesn't hurt anyone else, some folks just see it as an unsavory playstyle.
@@LawOfEvolution yeah, this window is pretty rare tho. The vast majority of multiplayer games' economies are all connected, in this case, they are not.
I also play FO76 and duping can get wildly out of hand in that. If they hadn't implemented a caps(the currency) cap, the economy in that would have gone the way of star wars galaxies very, very fast. And that's not even talking about the server stress issues and game balancing difficulties it causes.

I used to do some of the old refiner dupes (not the personal or portable refiner). Once I got my mining infrastructure set it was just easier to set it and forget it with the tools that HG has provided for us.
See this is the same with me. I duped around 2 years ago, I went so hard that I still have duped items from back then. Like you said, now getting Nanites or units is so easy there's no need in duping anymore.
@@LawOfEvolution Partially, I think that they leave the Nexus dupe glitches in because it encourages the already pleasant and giving culture that we have in NMS. I got my first living ship egg from someone at the Nexus. For new players, it makes them feel welcome in the community (even though they actually don't know about the dupe glitch).

And hell yeah I dupe. I work a more that full time job and dont get hours of play time. In this game I dont see it as a problem. I got the ship I want which ultimately doesn't matter. I am content to explore strange new worlds and there is no real need for money currently. NMS is a game I get to play how I like. It is perfect for me.
I like the Dupglitch because you can give or receipt stuff from other players. I don’t use it often but some times I do. So I’m in the middle somewhere I think. I’ve received a lot of good due the Dupglitch in the nexus. Thnx for your content. Really like it 👍🏻👍🏻

Not gonna lie, I primarily play in Creative :p I know it's the 'cheap' way to play, but I enjoy the exploration aspect the most, and Creative lets me explore without the grind getting in the way.
You give little to no fcks about the entire ordeal lol. You're like screw that, play Creative LOLOL I used to do that, but only to scout ahead of my Normal Mode save.

As I see it there is no competition in the game. It doesn't matter how many credits you have or how many items you collect. It has no effect on what I can get or not get. If people find enjoyment out of duping let them. I tried one or two of the easy glitches when they were around. I didn't find playing the game that way fun for me. Certainly I don't need credits I have billions from farming. I don't need nanites I have 10s of thousands for the same reason. They are super easy to farm. If someone found a way to dupe quicksilver that I might take issue with. But items and credits? meh.
Yea back when the first community missions launched and Quicksilver was an 'item' that you took in to claim the resource people would dupe that. But that's been patched for a looooong time and no new way to do it resurfaced.
No micro transactions and has no true competitive based modes. It shouldn't matter. Like you said..."As long as you're playing the game."
All facts! If you're in the game having fun I don't see the issue.
Even duping in the end is a play style, as there are way easier ways to "cheat" than that. You could spend an hour duping items, or open save editor and just give yourself about anything in just seconds. Do what you like, just don't go overboard, and lose out on fun game play by giving yourself nothing else to accomplish.
Exactly. If you're still having fun and not sapping the fun out of other's experience it's cool.
Personally I dupe now because I've spent close to a thousand hours between numerous saves doing it the legit way and nowadays I'd like to spend my days in NMS rich and worry free haha. Good shit man

I started in 2018 and have played on and off but I never had to dupe because it is easy to get everything needed once you understand how things work
I have friends who dupe and I have no problem with players who do this because they usually help new players to get a good start to the game
True. I had a whole series where I would find random people and give them billions if they would verbally accept it. They were always so happy lol.

Well, it depends, my first playthrough i did no glitches or dupes because i had no online play then. However i now have 4 different NMS accounts and a new perspective of what i want from the game. now, because of how i play, dupping helps a lot, but i don't focus my gameplay on that. It's not even about time saved, but more about the universe you create within the NMS universe. That's the beauty of this game, it is so versatile and open, your story and even experience within it won't be the same as anyone else.

I don't dupe, but I don't mind them duping though. Besides ~ they give out free stuff that helps new people in the Nexus lol. Its not like they're ruining other people's experience of NMS by doing what they do. I hope this rift as you say doesnt grow so much

Thanks! I have glitched weapon systems so that thing is a flying supernova LOLOL. I cant use it to shoot human players because it's a one shot with full shields, that's not fair. Not fair at all haha

What’s the wildest thing ever to because if I play with the dupe ship on my second save it’s gray like it’s supposed to be but if I go and get my original save anywhere near it turns red I’m gonna try to bounce it through three profiles maybe four to see if I can get it to maintain its original beauty

If I can get my original shit back to its intended color just flying that thing and rebuilding it without cheating all put tens if not hundreds of hours more on my already ridiculous tally ours an hours worth of playtime

Trying to figure out how to do my original legacy ship without losing its original color so far I can only get it in red but I’m off for the next two days and I’m gonna figure out if I could spot it in different colors or get it back to that beautiful gray and blue
How the hell even if accidentally did you manage to adjust the color of a ship? I mean I understand you probably want it a different color but hell that's amazing either way.
