    bro the reasoning behind not liking powerlifting makes no sense 😂 growing the sport is a natural process and of course more money will run through that.

    • @AlexanderBromley
      @AlexanderBromley  18 днів тому +3

      Growing the sport means making it spectator worthy to grab ad revenue so top tier athletes can be attracted by lucrative contracts. Even slapfighting figured that out.
      Powerliftung grew by making the athlete the customer.

    • @andrewrichards4427
      @andrewrichards4427 17 днів тому

      @ i guess you could argue that but that’s a statement with little meaning in reality. Your making people turn away from a perfectly good sport that many enjoy

    • @AlexanderBromley
      @AlexanderBromley  11 днів тому

      @andrewrichards4427 It has an absolute fuck ton of meaning.
      - Because promoters are able to make a lot of money on the backs of the athletes, there is no incentive to make it watchable so it can appeal to a wider audience, attract ad revenue, and actually pay athletes. This model is actively PREVENTING powerlifting from growing.
      - The best athletes in the world are literal nobodies because the sport gives no exposure. This model makes it so guys with 2300lb totals still need a go fund me to make it to a meet.
      - The churn in powerlifting is extremely high... I'm not making anyone turn away, they leave themselves after a few years when they realize how mind-numbing it is to spend 9 hours watching 300 competitors perform the same 3 lifts.
      The business model for powerlifting is lame, uninspiring and counterproductive, and your defense of it tells me you are part of the base that really loves meaningless first place trophy .... or more likely, that you've never competed.

  • @andrewrichards4427
    @andrewrichards4427 18 днів тому +3

    Kinda feels like you don’t want to get lean to do powerlifting and strongman is easier for your body type. That to me seems like the real reason you don’t power lift.

    Weight classes are stupid just put on more weight then. The only issue in strongman are still the height requirements. Anyone under 6'2" just doesnt have a chance with so many of the events. Its not a conscience effort its just the nature of strongman lifting real world objects being taller and having longer arms helps. But maybe get rid of the atlas stones and just do the stone past back and forth over bar for reps. There are so many powerful strongmen who cant compete at high levels because of height but dominate any static strength test.
