    I saw him in 1976, Richmond VA...there is nothing like the real thing! Austin did a fabulous job playing Elvis. I listen to those that were crazy about the movie and had never seen him or were alive during the years he was here....I am thanking the good Lord that I did get to experience the real thing...my big hunk of love...ELVIS!!

    This movie was great to the point where Hollywood did not mess it up with a bunch of lies. It showed the truth about who Elvis was and where he came from and where he ended up it also implemented all of the people in his career that was using him, and how hard it was to even make it to the top it, let you know that he was a one-of-a-kind, and there will be no one else like him, he changed and rewrote the blueprints for what rock ‘n’ roll musical performances are supposed to be. He is the very first to do things on stage that no one has ever seen for the first time he is and will always be an American national treasure.👍🇺🇸🙏🔥👑⚡️🎤🎹🎸🎶🤟

    I grew up in the 70’s and liked Elvis songs but wasn’t a huge fan. This movie has given me a new appreciation of Elvis’s roots in Gospel, R&B, country and other musical influences and like how that was portrayed that he grew up in the Black community and those were his friends. I thought the performances were great and Baz captured the magic of Elvis so well! Oscar worthy for sure - especially Austin Butler - a star is born!

    I get soo mad when I read younger African American people label Elvis as a racist! They say he didn't take a public stand against intergretation. Elvis stayed away from most social issues. He was a performer. He was probably strongly told he could jeopardize his whole career being outspoken about any issue back then. His back-up singers, The Sweet Inspirations (All Black) were with him for 18yrs straight right until his death. Anywhere they were not allowed to stay first class,Elvis refused to perform there. He got bad raps unfairly.

    It’s the best movie I’ve ever seen because it details the most important entertainer that ever lived. The man was responsible for making music a thing everyone can do no matter what you looked like or sounded like. But I think he was actually as talented as he was makes him a giant of humanity through the ages

    • @bign8580
      @bign8580 Рік тому +1

      The most Important entertainer that ever lived Was Elvis ..... Not a movie of someone doing Elvis ..... So Really ..... Why all the hype about this movie ...... IT IS NOT ELVIS ..... SO IT IS ...... NOTHING ..... NOTHING ...... NOTHING ...... LIKE THE REAL MAN HIMSELF ..... I KNOW I WAS AT LIVE CONCERTS OF ELVIS HIMSELF .....But rest assured ...... I'm sure all the sponsors love your money Anyway ..... Start GOING and seeing Elvis tribute artists at Elvis contests in your area ..... Then you will see good Elvis acts ..... Not Impersonators ..... The difference is the contest has the best out there ..... Making good money for being really good ..... Impersonators are usually solo acts in clubs and bars ...... Elvis recorded EXACTLY 769 songs ..... Did 31 Movies ..... Did 2 Documentaries ..... Did over 1100 Concerts in the Seventies alone ..... Who knows how many in the 50's and 60's ..... And there are a ton of Elvis snippets of Elvis all over the Internet ..... IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER THE EVER LIVED ..... THEN WATCH THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER THAT EVER LIVED AND NOT SOME GUY DOING AN IMPERSONATION OF HIM ..... PLUS ..... SOMETHING MOST DON'T KNOW ..... On August 31, 1957, Elvis, Scotty Moore, Bill Black, D.J. Fontana and the Jordanaires went to Vancouver by train to perform at Empire Stadium. It was the second stop of a tour of the Northwest that had started the day before in Spokane. By this time Elvis had recorded eight No. 1 singles in two years, had made three movies and was about to release 'Jailhouse Rock' as his latest single. Having performed in Toronto and Ottawa in April, this was only the third time they ever performed outside of the U.S. and for Elvis it would be the last. Vancouver's first rock-and-roll show had taken place barely a year before, when Bill Haley and the Comets drew 6,000 people to the Kerrisdale Arena. Now Elvis had drawn a crowd over four times larger. The 26,500 fans in attendance went wild for the King of Rock 'n' Roll. The stage was set up on the empty football field Elvis did it all ..... And he did them better than ..... ANYONE ELSE COULD ..... ANYONE ..... PERIOD .....
      P.S The new movie will be something ...... But after sometime ...... And you know the real Elvis you will see No-one can be Elvis ...... But Elvis ...... No actor in the world can do him justice ..... Can't be done ..... Elvis was sent with a purpose from heaven to mankind ...... He cannot be duplicated by common man ..... So once you learn more about what and who Elvis Aron Presley truly was ..... You'll see just what a truly God given talent he and only he was ..... Cause once you know the real Elvis ..... Your eyes will truly be opened ..... No Brag ..... Just Fact ..... BIG N .....

He embodied him so well. I really believed I was watching Elvis and not an actor portraying him. It was that authentic, that real., you get lost in his performance in a good way. Before Elvis a singer would just stand at the microphone and not move. Elvis was a tornado, a hurricane of energy. And boy did he move. Several times hundreds of fans overran the stage, chasing him thru the building. They would tear at his clothes and unintentionally scratch him till he was bleeding. He once was rescued from a bathroom and he stood on top of the toilet stall as they ripped him to shreds.

    Have seen this three times myself now. Yes, there are some aspects that are changed for whatever reason, but as for the essence of the story, the essence of Elvis, this hit the nail on the head! It captured the important aspects of Elvis. It deals with Elvis Presley as a person instead of Elvis the character that we have have come to know.

    ~~~ Good movie BUT it only shows him from a Blues perspective, and NOT the innovator he truly was. Elvis was always credited with mixing Country with Blues and creating a unique sound, howeve the movie leaves out all the other influences that go into making Rock & Roll and Pop Music. Elvis was a melting-pot of music and cultures, not just Blues.
    Granted, it was the blues that caused controversy and that's what sells tickets, however Elvis Presley CANNOT be contained in just one genre, nor should he be portaryed as only a blues artist. From the very beginning of his music (1953-1955) at Sun Studios, he sang Country, Pop, Bluegrass, Hymns (white as well as black). Growing up in the 30s & 40s he idolized the singing cowboys in the movies (Roy Rogers, Gene Autry)
    Here are a Elvis' other BIG influences, Country & Bluegrass Music had a major effect on him, as did Pop Ballad singers like Dean Martin & Bing Crosby. The formation of Pop music and Rock & Roll both derive plenty of country influences (even Chuck Berry had country influences). Popular music draws from Country, Bluegrass/Appalachian, and even from Classical music & opera.
    I also believe the movie creates an incorrect image of Elvis learning to sing from his exposure to the minority church. Truth is, Elvis influences were on both sides of the isle. He actually did his first singing in his family's own church, the Assembly of God, and not the minority church. While Elvis loved Rosetta Tharpe & Mahalia Jackson, we cannot leave out folks like JD Sumner, the Statesmen, Hovie Lister, and Blackwood Quartet who inlfuenced him as a youth.
      Very good post. Dean Martin was a huge influence but probably Mahalia Jackson is right up there with him. This is what people are learning today that Rock music isn't just about the blues. If it were... It would be called the blues! Black culture is definitively in Rock and Roll. No question. No black musicians no R&R. But also no White Musicians no Rock and Roll. Why? Blues (black), Country (white) and what everyone seems to forget GOSPEL (black and white). There is Spanish and even Indian and Japanese culture involved. So no one should call Rock and Roll black or white music. Its not that simple nor is it accurate. For Elvis to have accomplished what he did merging these genres he needed to Appreciate them, and then he needed the GOD GIVEN TALENT to pull it off in each genre and THEN the creative wherewithal to merge them all with a stage presentation as well.
