There is a great vlog by a fellow UA-camr from the UK that ran down Elvis' childhood friend from his days in the Tupelo projects. The interview was great. He explained where they play, what they played, as well as the charismatic church services(a local church, not a travelling revival tent) that they went to. The expression a women eyes never tell a lie. Your beautiful eyes tell everything about this trailer especially towards the end when (Tom Hanks) talks about being the same. If looks could kill.
This looks and sounds wonderful, and the movie is sure to be a spectacle to behold, because Baz knows no other gear, but... but Elvis was arguably the best looking, most charismatic man to ever stand on a stage and perform, and there has never been an actor pretending to be him that even came close to capturing that truly iconic, once-in-a-century magic (the closest was Kurt Russel over four decades ago), so watching this obviously talented and good-looking young man proxy the "King" was... distracting. I kept seeing a substitute for the real thing and I couldn't get beyond that. Maybe watching the whole movie I will, but not here. And, yeah, Shadie, I see that Presley blood coursing through you as well. For me though, not as much in the looks as in your effortless ability to put it all out there, the joy as well as the pain. And I think the latter makes the former all the more impactful.
*The Col. was the devil incarnate. I also have a distant cousin who was a performer. Kind of a 2-hitter, but big in the 50s Country scene. Ferlin Husky. I'll react to his biopic when someone does it. lol*
As you say, there have been MANY attempts at making a "proper" Elvis film - and far too many were lame. Having this one told from the perspective of the Colonel..? is (IMHO) classic Baz Luhrmann; Why..? because one CANNOT tell the story of a Hero (and what else could you call a poor white boy from Tupelo, Mississippi but that?!) without The Villain? The Colonel was a grade "A" bastard, yes - which makes his POV of Elvis (not a saint, but an otherwise good man) the right narrator. The best view of Heaven, after all, is from the floor of Hell - Given the folk involved here..? Methinks Baz has (or rather WILL!) hit it out of the park. You ROCK, My Dear! Keep on Rockin'!!! 🍻
Austin Butler , his name is I never heard about him before but i think his fame is the greatest fame about Elvis that I have ever seen since Elvis and me movie in 1979.
I love to hear you talk … sure you have seen the movie by now … hope you loved it as much as I did … it certainly was made to explore the awful relationship between Elvis and the Col… I heard one of my friends say … as much as she loved Tom Hanks, she hated him by the end of the movie. It’s just so sad … my husband was an attorney and he said if only someone could have gotten through to Elvis, he probably could have gotten out of his contract, and who knows, he may have been able to live a much fuller and longer life. Keep up the good work.
Shadie I didn't realize that you are distant relative to Elvis. I heard of him thru my parents. I listened to his music thru the years. Like you, I have seen other actors who portrayed your famous relative in movies. From good one with Kurt Russell in 1979's Elvis to some that I will not mentioned here. I think Austin Butler will kill it as your relative. I have seen him in another movie called Once Upon A Time in Hollywood with Leo Dicaprio and Brad Pitt played killer, "Tex" of Manson Family by Quentin Tarantino. I just subscribed to your channel. Like you, I believed real Tom Parker took advantage of Elvis. I think his dealings with Elvis caused your relative to be addicted to drugs. I believed if another manager took over of Elvis properly, Elvis would still be alive today at the age of 87.

This looks amazing, Baz’s films always are.
Have you also seen David Fincher’s remake of “THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON 🐉 TATTOO?” It’s sooooooo good!!!! And superior to the original.
I'm in to it! Can't wait to see it!
Thank you, for telling u the truth about He Who Must Not Be Named. It 2h40mins !!
It's 2 hours and 43 minutes, apparently, so that can certainly cover a lot. (Luhrmann does not do short movies lol)
Ive heard Elvis could have been a Wallace .His grandfather Jessie. Jessie's mother was not married when she had relations with a Wallace
Great Trailer. The King rocks.
GREAT reaction!!
That trailer is magnificent!
The expression a women eyes never tell a lie. Your beautiful eyes tell everything about this trailer especially towards the end when (Tom Hanks) talks about being the same. If looks could kill.
So love your hair! Wow
"Who are you Elvis" I'm the F'n King of Rock n Roll.
@Miles Doyle So my scattered comment gave you a Come to Jesus Moment? Uh... you're welcome?
*The Col. was the devil incarnate.
🍻
When I first saw the 👀 cheekbones and the dark- hue of your 👀 eyes I knew
I'm super impressed with what I see from Austin Butler so far - just not sure about Tom Hanks. Anyway, can't wait to see the movie!
Love your videos
Shadie
I didn't realize that you are distant relative to Elvis.
No one looks good enough to play Elvis. I love women. But Elvis was the best looking man I've ever seen.
That actor sang every single song in the movie. Amazing.
No he didn't. The later Elvis songs was Elvis blended with Austin
@@geoffreyparsons4353 don't say that!
the illusion is no longer real for them
