I found that switching to edible Cannabis really brought on the munchies, my way of dealing with it was to drink lots of water and switching from carb-based foods to eating big salads with hot peppers and minimal dressing with a bit of umami-rich parmesan. Lots of ground black pepper also seems to reduce munchies.
my mom always told me if you got toooooo high, to chew a black peppercorn to bring down the effects, so the black pepper is probably bringing down that munchies effect!

I’m a senior but I remember back in like 1980 getting savage munchies. Smoke some weed, drink a few bears and try to duo an 18 inch pizza with a friend. 😂 I probably hit my vape 6-8 times a day. It’s great with coffee every morning. We eat twice a day with snacks. I eat two eggs sunny side up around 9am with toast everyday. No lunch and a moderate sized supper. Chicken Thigh and Drumstick , cup of steamed jasmine rice and maybe a vegetable as an example. Cannabis today is way more potent than back then but I don’t notice the insatiable hunger it once caused. I probably burned those brain cells out lol.
I'm not quite a senior but I'm getting up there. I think just from smoking 25+ years I can handle the munchies better. I also like to keep healthy snacks on hand, like rice cakes, there are even caramel/chocolate ones. Lots of water helps as well. cheers

Tonight I made a natural ginger tea with additional herbs and consumed it after smoking and the munchies have been minimal. You are on point with the hydration fact anong other gems that you have dropped.
I personally don't really get the munchies when consuming cannabis, some times I smoke before eating but that can result in me forgetting that I was hungry and start doing other things even if the food is ready right in front of me and then 1-2 hours later I'm like ''wait, I was suppose to eat''
I also wanted to add that your suggestion to eat before you enjoy your broccoli lift helped me because I'm a diabetic and sometimes munchies are not my friends thank you Anna
This is a great subject to talk about as all who have indulged has dealt with this issue. I like your suggestion of healthy snacks. For me, I make an intention of not caving in to these hunger urges before going under the influence - to consciously act against these hunger pangs so when I do get these hungeries I purposely employ my will power and while it doesn't work completely, it somewhat moderates my intake. Another thing that helps is when I have a greater plan than eating that eating will diminish the effects of (or at least based upon my perception) is when my wife and I are planning to get together that particular evening and works much better when not overstuffed from eating too much. That always works as an effective strategy. Nothing like being high and making love to your special partner on an empty stomach - Your hunger turns into something else...It's a beautiful experience! Another tip: NEVER purchase munchies in economy size … you WILL overeat them. Just get as many individual servings as you’ll allow yourself until you go shopping again.
I have smoked 20 years and the munchies have never stopped. I could eat and smoke then it feels like my stomach is totally empty. I literally just have to have will power and not eat. With as much as i smoke i cant just just have bags and bags of chips and snacks in my house. It never went away, its just will power and drinking water
The munchies are my favorite thing when high, but I try to make it so I get high on a day when I've got yummy leftovers or a clear dinner plan already laid out so I'm just eating a typical dinner. Just not something boring like a basic salad. Make some tacos or curry or soup for dinner hnnngggggg. As a snack, few things are beating rice cakes with peanut butter and an apple with crunchy peanut butter. I also like things like mints or some kind of sucker candy that doesn't have many calories but you can just have in your mouth.
I needed this. I usually smoke after working out and sometimes I go a little over board making me feel like I’m negating the effort of weight loss 😂

I've got an additional suggestion for mindful eating. Smaller bites. It actually enables you to taste and chew better.

I’m on medical cannabis and cbd oil. I’m hardly hungry anymore and have lost weight. I think the cbd oil really reduces my appetite.
Hummus is a great healthy munchies snack.
I just watch food videos when I’m fried because if I go to the kitchen at 1 am imma catch a beating from my parents 😂
You can also pay attention to the terpenes and cannabinoids in the strain used; some are much less likely to make you hunrgy than others.

I quit cannabis & just do ketamine all day. My anxiety is completely gone. I also can’t move my legs for 6 hours at a time.
