Agreed! I really enjoyed star realms but Star Wars Deckbuilder has completely replaced it for me. It’s got more of everything that makes star realms good but with better theme, art and new mechanics.
With the 3 expansion sets and all the variant packs. And being able to play single player. Star realms all day. So many ways to play plus its on pc phone etc. You buy one digital version unlocks all digital version. So yea star realms for verianty respect for the customer and many ways you can play.
I wish i didn't buy Star Wars DBG. I already had Star Realms Frontiers and it's just better in my opinion. Worst thing I've found in Star Wars is sometimes early in the game the galaxy row is jammed up with one faction of cards and the other player doesn't have enough attack yet to bounty hunt/sabotage so gets pretty stuck. It's annoying..
@RockManorGames Yeah, I do prefer that too. The bases having their own power is cool too. There's probably an easy house rule to churn the galaxy row 🤔
Another one that should be included: Shards of Infinity. In my mind it fixes Star realms, making it at about the same level as the Star Wars Deckbuilding game
The only thing I remember years later is having the character with the dial. I never owned it and only played it once. Maybe I should take another look.
As to theme, I prefer Star Realms, since I consider Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lovecraft to be significantly oversaturated in the market. I have and have played both, and find that the Star Wars game is prone to stagnation until one side or the other gets a lucky vs. unlucky draw. Star Realms is the better game for me, and it's not particularly close.

two great games! :) did you try Star Wars Unlimited?
Not yet!
Star Wars Unlimited is my favourite TCG of all time now and it's just set 1!! Loving it and have a solid local community already.
@@86Disab yes, it's a really good game :)
Just bought both now 😅
Solid choice. Enjoy.
I bought shards of infinity and eternal

Apps and expansions were not considered in any matchups
@@RockManorGames Yea I would love to the comparison with all that considered.

@@simpler_times81 that is definitely a flaw. I do prefer the defeat a planet mechanic over the raw life points.

I did play Shards of Infinity years ago (before expansions) and it didn't do much for me
@@RockManorGames Interesting. I find the extra dynamics of mercenaries and the mastery to elevate it much higher than Star Realms.

If you like OP unbalanced games then yes SI
@Flicky669star realms with all the expansion not even close. SR all day.
Star realms was fun but it has become too bloated in recent years.
I stopped after colony wars
Star Wars Deck-Building Game is better than Star Realms. Hero Realms is way better than Star Realms.

To each his own.
