God bless you all. I’ve been a believer in Christ my whole life. I prayed almost every night, but haven’t been to church seriously in many years. Tonight I stumbled upon this song on tv. It’s helped me renew my relationship with Christ. Whoever you are, wherever you are please know that you are loved. Peace and all the best for 2022.
“God and sinners reconciled” The wonders of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A perfect obedience, a sinless life, a sin atoning death and a glorious resurrection. “It is finished” Free salvation
As a Catholic, I have a very soft spot in my heart for high church Anglicanism. In a way, you guys appreciate the appropriate form of Mass more than most modern Catholics. Merry Christmas to my brothers and sisters in Christ!
One of the best descant in a Xmas hymn. I sometimes try to imagine how heaven will be like if I can feel like this here on earth with this beautiful singing 💕 . This is heavenly 😍
I know: it's absolutely out of this world, peerless. Used to sing it at school carol concerts in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral thanks to our brilliant music teacher. A magical experience❤❤
I am not a religious man, and neither was my high school choir teacher. But I'm ever grateful he showed me the beauty in choral music. These songs aren't just about being religious...they are songs of hope and beauty. Old words and songs that carry the light of ancestors who sought comfort in this life as we do now. Merry Christmas~!
I fervently agree with you, especially since I'm not a believer either. But beautiful music affects everyone regardless of what they believe in. BTW I'm an enthusiastic amateur organist.
@Terry-te1ij That was never the implication. I may not be religious but I do believe there is life after death, just not how it says in the Bible. The point was that music like this transcends boundaries such as belief and non-belief. It brings out the true joy of the human spirit. It is light given tone and hope given breadth, it is the love of humanity that all may hear. It can be something that brings us together as imperfect creatures and I am thankful to know it's beauty.
Hallelujah He is Born Once again 2024 to remind us of his love for us no evil can touch us on this Day of Celebration Let us all enjoy the birth of our Savior King of Kings
We need to be singing this everyday of the year not just Christmas. Jesus is for life and eternity. Not just Christmas. For me to live is Christ to die is gain 🙏✝️
Jesus was born in the spring, Christmas is a pagan holiday that was rebranded by the romans when they adopted Christianity Also religion has no place in the developed world, there’s no reason to believe in the magic sky daddy anymore
I remember singing this in our old wooden Episcopal church, holding my father's hand, tears welling in my eyes. All these years later, I don't think it matters what one believes - we are united in the joy of song. Merry Christmas to this troubled, yet still redeemable, world.
I concur wholesouledly, Mr Hunt. Beautifully stated, accentuated by your memories of church (Roman Catholic in my case back when, but tears, always the tears at the Christmas carols).
Robert, I'm not a believer but Christmas carols from the Old World, especially England, are the best. I became an Anglophile in 1994 after I heard the King's College Choir (on the radio) for the first time.
@@aclark903 atheists and pagans are not necessarily bad people! There's good people who don't believe in a higher power, and bad people who do believe in a higher power.
I am neither religious, nor a particular celebrator of Christmas, but every year on Christmas Day I will watch a this choir sing this hymn four or five times before continuing on with life. It touches my heart in some way.
Because since his birth the world has been about Jesus. Our world reject Him though. Because we love ourselves, we see our way as what is truth. if my way is truth then nobody's truth matters. Only God and the resurrection of Jesus affirms our suffering, purpose and dignity. Without Him we have none. Call on the Lord Jesus, we don't have to be perfect to believe in Christ but we are born again when we come to believe in Him and what the Bible says about Him that we can repent of our sin. That is what salvation is, repentance of sin. It isn't a choice we make, salvation is when we come to the understanding we are sinners and only Jesus, the sinless son of God who was born into our world for our sake allowed himself to be sacrificed for us and took our sin onto himself. God said "I give you my only begotten son". So acknowledge that you are a sinner (someone who has broken 1 or several of the 10 commandments, doesn't love the Lord God with all your heart, and doesn't love his neighbor or forgives his enemies) and realize that you can not be the best person God made you to be by relying on yourself and that you need his love, wisdom, and gift of grace which saves you from his judgement. And God's judgement isn't pleasant but it is righteous. God is without sin and hates it and will not save anyone who has not repented of their sin. Jesus said "I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. NO ONE comes to the father EXCEPT BY ME." so either you believe that statement or you don't. and if you don't what is your truth your morality based upon exactly? Because I can just say mine is the opposite and claim it is correct. But with Jesus we all are unified and Jesus is alive and returning, he said he is and I believe Him. God bless and hope you had a merry Christmas
I am so grateful to be able to hear this. Even though it makes me tear up! The sound of Christmas and hope for the future. I am so happy that some children still learn to sing music like this.
