I have one of these with the AWD V6 2012. Fixing the airbag system was a nightmare took several months of mechanics. Has two recalls the previous owners were too incompetent to perform, so those are scheduled next on top of the massive leak under the rear axle that needs fixed... Aside from that this vehicle is impressive. This thing can handle any road conditions and I mean the absolute worst, it rides a lot like a grand marquis but sits high like a truck. I can see why the cops prefer them. Looking forward to getting this thing back to it's former glory. Plenty of power, I've been giving it no ethanol fuel, it makes about 25mpg give or take I'm surprised how good the V6 is on fuel for the amount of power this beast has but a lot of that is how I drive it.
Great Vibing, Mikey. Loved listening to your review. Articulate and very clear to understand. You made me feel I made a good choice in procuring for myself this 2013 explorer xlt. Yet to start using it fully as I'm respraying it from silver to nardo grey, and also looking to do some customizations as well - like change bumper, grille and headlight with newer aftermarket versions, and also change the R18 to R20 to give it an edgier look. Are these worth it, you reckon? Anyways, I'm in Ghana... Please advise, pple. Cheers !!!❤️
Great review Mike, putting the Explorer on my shortlist.

I appreciate that!
