I took delivery on my Pikes Peak last Thursday. I put 300 miles on it in the first two days and at a loss for words. It is a truly an amazing bike! As you said it turns in with such little effort, especially for a larger bike. I can actually say it turns in easier than my 21 Streetfighter V4S did and I can't understand how! For me it checks all the boxes, looks great, amazing handling, comfort, top shelf components and the latest technology. This one will stay in my garage for many years to come.

After owning several V4 Hondas in my 36 years of riding, from an '84 VF1100 Sabre to an '86 VFR700 Interceptor to an '07 VFR800 Anniversary, I placed a deposit on a '22 PP - my 1st Ducati - which is due in May. Looking forward more V4 street fun!

My previous bike was the 1260 Pikes Peak and when I tried the V4s I thought it was incredible, but more clumsy when entering corners than the 1260 PP, and that made me decide on the V4 Pikes Peak, with your video you have solved many doubts for me , now I just have to wait until June when Pikes Peak arrives, to be able to ride it and have those sensations, which you describe in the video. @@ProjectMoto I have one more question, sorry, do you think it's worth putting the complete akrapovic system in? I also saw the video in which you analyze the multistrada V4 with the Akrapovic system.
I think this bike deserves full akrapovic, so order the bike with full Akrapovic system, but I would like to know your opinion.

@@marioanayagarcia5859 the full system does change the way them the engine works, as in the way it seems to breath better, there’s a little extra bhp and torque, and a few kg’s weight saved too which all helps , and also it is re mapped ,but it’s just how it kind of removes some restrictions on the engine, not that you really notice there is any restrictions until you ride one with the full system, sound is different too, not to much when you are riding normally so great for touring etc, but when your on the throttle it has a great sound, again it comes down to cost as they are not cheap , only the buyer can decide if it’s needed or worth it..but if you can afford it… if your going big, then go big 😂😂
@@ProjectMoto Hello, how about two more questions, have you been able to test the Pikes Peak in Racing mode, did you find a lot of difference with sport mode, or is it more marketing than anything else? The Pikes Peak Ohlins electronic suspensions have a self leveling mode.

Biccies and banter - what's not to like! Good assessment. Very happy with my V4S Sport/Full, and its additional practicality for long road rides, but do appreciate the sportier nature and cool looks of the PP.
Ha the biscuits didn’t last too long tbh 😂😂 , yeah they are just 2 very different bikes, both brilliant at what they do, for longer rides and touring the V4s is better, for track and racing around the Pikes Peak is better, alway enjoy riding them, well you know just how good they are :)

I have the V4 sport with full system and it’s mentally good so many people have been surprised how I chuck it round with no effort,love it. The pikes peak would be a track weapon.

I just watched your vid again,I didn't pick it up the first time,but I heard you say you think that's the best bike ducati have ever made,well you get to ride pretty much everything so u would know,that's a big call,makes me even more excited.
Oh also they have also changed the front chassis to add rake too,,and the wheels are marchenessini that's a 3 kg weight saving,those changes ontop of the 17 wheel is the reason why it would turn in and handle better with the ohlins too.And it gets the brakes off the panigale too.
What a beautiful looking bike too,I've never really liked the look of the adventure style bikes but the pikes peak V4 looks awesome
Yeah the best bike in the way it does everything so good… the Superleggera is obviously amazing but at £90k it’s can’t really be compared to any other bike, is a Panigale V4, either the S,R or SP better if you want to go round the track, or you love sports bikes, then yes, is the Multi V4s Full better if you use it for touring, then yes, is one of the SF V2,V4 more suited for a blast down the twisty roads, yes… the Monster for me is best bike for the money they sell, and you can say the similar things with other models , but this just does everything so good and in comfort to, this bike will not be for everyone and at £25k it’s a lot of money but it is very impressive at what it does, of course all the changes from the V4s to this was going to make it turn like that, just think it’s an awesome bike, be very impressive round some smooth mountain road’s for sure!
@@ProjectMoto have to agree with everything you just said,the superleggara is so good,but it's so limited in numbers it's hard to even say it exists lol,yep ducati definitely make a bike for every occasion that's for sure... the diavel 1260s,that's impressive to ride and looks menacing

Great video. Just need to decide if I should cancel the Pikes Peak and keep the Streetfighter V4s or go ahead with the order. Bike isn't due till September.

Wellll..IF we’re dreamin’ here, as nice as the Pikes is with the extra amenities, graphics..I’d be ‘alright’ with V4S still. IF I was standing there LOOKING AT IT, it might be different I suppose. I happen to be one of those rare (?) odd guys that likes and favors the DOUBLE swingarms. ‘Balances’ the aesthetics of the bike to me..not that it’s better or worse really. Great review!
The V4s is still a great bike, they both do what they were designed to do so good .. you know I like a double asides swingarm too .. mainly like the chunky ally race ones on the race bikes , they look cool 😎
reminds me of the older multistradas - they were all "rear steer" bikes too. The v4s does require a fair bit of input into turns, and when you're hard on the brakes into a turn you can get a LOT of head shake - I didn't see any of that on the PP.

Yeah for sure , the pikes peak handling is just so good, very quick turning , probably a bit to much for everyday normal riding and touring but I like it :)

Hi I recently purchased a 1260 multistrada and that has 17 inch front wheel and it is fun. I wish I could budget for a v4 or even a pikes peak but have to wait.

I had a Ducati Monster 1100 EVO that I bought new and brought it in for service one day and the dealer gave me a Multistrada 1200 S demo to ride to work on for the day. After that ride and a couple more demo rides I was convinced that I bought the wrong bike. A couple years later I bought a new 2014 Multistrada 1200 S and owned that bike for 6 years. I had Marchesini wheels on mine and an Arrow exhaust, I loved that bike. Seriously considering a new Multistrada V4S or Pikes Peak.
Class Vlog as always. The Multistrada is some craic, i had a 2014 Pikes peak and i loved it, its just so easy to ride fast and it'll embarrass many a sports bike, i recently test rode a V4S Multi and loved it too. I was thinking about a Hypermotard as my next bike, but these vids are making me think hard about another Multistrada.
Awesome , yeah the Multi V4 rides so nice.. as do the older Pikes Peak , Hypers are great bike, just a little hard for me , but then you also have to think they are cheaper too and really good fun.. ride both and see what you think

You are correct in saying the 1260 PP didn’t feel as quick @steering and change of direction. Thats because all the DVT engine bikes from 2015 to 2020 had the long wheelbase (62”). That made them slower steering bikes, better for touring and highway usage. If you go back and ride a 2014 PP or 2012 PP you will feel the quickness in the handling of those bikes because they had a (59”) wheelbase, making them great mountain road bikes and wheelie monsters. They didn’t have wheelie control. The best years of the true road bike Multistradas, were 2013-2014. They had the skyhook suspension, stability control and the Teststrata 11 free revving engine like the race bike. The 1200 DVT engines had that flat spot in the midrange and were slower revving engines. So in essence Ducati has regressed a little with the characteristics of the New V4 PP bike with the 17” front, the 190 rear tire and a bike that has more power on top but not the midrange power of the old 1200 Testastrata 11 engine. Close but different. Hooray for the Hooligan biker, its back!
Yeah I ride them all a lot , but i do really like the new V4s, the V4 PP is very different to it though, won’t be for everyone, but for me and how I like to ride and what I would use it for it’s awesome , love it😎

No not had it in race mode yet , it has the same electronic Smart EC 2.0 suspension with the Event based adjustment but you can still let the bike know you have luggage or passenger etc
Hi , tks for the review , as my english is not 100 % i want to ask you if i understand you right that the v4s suspention is better suited for normal day to day riding on not so good roads and that the v4s is slightly more comfortable to ride on bad roads ?
No problem , on normal roads the V4s seems to soak up bumps and undulations in the road a little better and is more stable, both bikes were in sport mode so you could soften the suspension on the Ohlins if u wanted, I don’t think either bike is uncomfortable in any way and they both have no problems on the road, the Pikes Peak is just a more Sporty version with the steering, you have more feeling on the Pikes Peak so you can feel the road condition more, I just think how most people ride an Adventure bike , using it to go touring etc , the V4s is better suited, if you just ride fast on country roads and the track then the Pikes Peak is amazing
Great video, but now I’m confused.
My local dealer reckons it won’t cost me much to switch my multi V4s for the pikes peak, as it’s a well loaded “full”, but I guess I’d have to add the heated front seat and grips. I can switch the full akro from mine to the PP.
I wouldn’t want to lose the pretty red PP pillion seat….. can’t believe they only do a heated pillion in black 🥺
I rarely commute or tour, and just use the bike for fun….. sometimes that includes having my wife on the back though. She’s half my weight and a great pillion, even on a “spirited” technical route, so I’m guessing the PP won’t change that aspect.
Like you say, I’ve never felt the V4s is lacking anything, and the handling on the road is great. So is it worth the change?
If it looks as good in the flesh as you were saying, then I’m guessing the bling will swing it 😃
Ha ok ,over the Full V4 I guess this is about £2,5K more or something.. but with less parts on it as such, I think it looks better in the flesh.. as from what you say you would kind of use it like me, so it probably is worth it, it really does ride different from the V4s if you are just going for a blast down the twisty roads..your have to had the red seat on in the summer and the black rear seat for the winter when you have a pillion

Is this bike your demo PP multistrada? Persomally love my 1260s and think maybe ducati have spoilt the V4s abit by going down the 19"front wheel route, and going back to the double sided swingarm! I have tryed the V4S and wasnt struck on it.
No it’s not a demonstrator, there won’t be any demonstrator Pikes Peak , yeah I get some people like there 1260 , you have to ride the V4s a little different but when you get to grips with it more it’s really good , everyone likes different bikes :)
Guys great video I have a Speciale but at my age fancy changing to multistrada . Now while the S is a good bike I really really prefer the overall look of the pikes peak NOW at age 71 I don’t need the fasted turning bike or a track weapon PP but I do want the iconic look the PP delivers so question. Is have you tried /any customer tried a PP with a 19 inch front wheel ? Is it even possible to order one from the factory with a 19 inch front ? Or do you think it’s bonkers to be even thinking about that …..as you say I’m one of these every day riders just one who thinks the design of the PP is way more cool 😎 with its body work and single side swing arm , let me know that you think ?

@@ProjectMoto Many thanks guys that’s a reasonable steer I’d be chopping in a bmw K16 to get the PP . The big K is a great ride and pillion loves it but it’s kind of bland looking , an event to ride but not a Ducati 🙄

Tbh only you can decide that , the V4s is an adventure bike which is built for that, the pikes peak is just a sportier version, I know a.guy who went across Europe ,Russia and Siberia on a 3 month trip on his V4s… also I know a guy who goes off road on his Diavel 1260s… anything can be done on any bike if you want to and have the ability:)
Anyone here switching from 1250 GS to Multi v4s ??
What a machine. We are being spoilt it will be a sad day when battery motion takes over.
It’s so good, probably not needed but why not if you can .. well with electricity prices going up maybe they won’t bother with electric bikes anymore… hold on fuel prices are too.. oh well hopefully they are a very long way away yet !!
How do you find those aux lights? Considering them.
Personally I have never used them at night, but people I know who have say they are great , always better to be seen in the day and to see more at night
I wonder how it handles with luggage, for touring. Personally the tft screen is too small to read.. still wouldn’t say no though.. 😊
Not tried one with luggage , we have fitted a few top boxes which people have said it’s ok, the screen is big in person when your riding it.. and yeah I’d love one :)
My pikes peak arrived at the dealer last Wednesday. (Netherlands) unfortunately the full system is aswell still in backorder. Expected delivery June, when is the one for this bike expect to be delivered?
Yeah it seems to be that way worldwide with the Exhaust’s , I’l ask tomorrow at the shop if they know when it will arrive , rather then wait for the exhaust I think the system will now be added to the bike at the first service

What is the comfort in the softest setting compared to v4s?
Tbh I didn’t ride it in the low settling , they are comfy anyway way , u could soften the suspension a little if u wanted to but it was not harsh anyway
Can you get another number besides 1, like a 3 or 4 if you're a slower rider?

Yeah it is I guess ,For me the Pikes Peak just does everything so good, there’s other Ducatis that do certain things better but if you want a bike that just does everything at a such a great level it’s an awesome bike

On any bike you rarely "Know" you need that little bit extra... until you get it. Then you really notice when you go back to not having it.
Yeah I was speaking about that today to someone about the PP and his friends V4s.. I said the same thing to him about his friend and his V4s … if he rode the PP he would see the differences .. be better not to know 😉
Good luck getting hold of one. A friend of mine ordered one in the UK with £2.5k down, they came back and said the bike was going to cost £2k more for no reason and he has to wait another 12 months for delivery, bearing in mind he's already waited 6 months already. JOKE.
Tbh to me If he ordered it 6 months ago he shouldn’t be waiting another year ,I think these are arriving now, if you ordered one right now I am guessing they are going to be next year maybe ??.. and why did they say £2k more? Really The price should be the same as when you place the deposit
@@ProjectMoto I said exactly the same thing to him regarding the price hike. They just said the bike was going up another £2k with no real explanation. Suspect they got the original pricing wrong/knew they'd get more for the bike, it'd sell regardless of him dropping out of the deal anyway. I suspect the delays are due to the worldwide chip shortage but he didn't say. Friend of mine ordered the new Triumph Tiger 1200 and something like 80% of it was built but they were waiting for chip supplies to ease up so he had to wait from December last year to April now to take delivery. Crazy at the moment!
I would need to ride the pikes! I bought my 1260 s multi when the v4 came out. I rode both and it was 100% clear I chose the 1260! I’m 6,4 250 36 inch inseam 52 years old riding since 5. 1260 is lighter more flickable better torque everywhere plus it’s a desmo. The v4 is very nice but does not have the soul and grin factor of the 1260. Maybe the pikes made enough of a difference but I’m skeptical! Emissions is killing the soul of great bike manufacturers
Everyone like different things , we’ve only had one or two that have preferred their 1260 over the V4 over the last couple of years but everyone has loved the PP when they got one, personally I love the PP V4 , just does everything so good , very different to the V4s to ride… yeah unfortunately people trying to save the planet are doing that to Motorcycles
@@ProjectMoto pikes looks like they fixed everything that the v4 is missing except for the v2 desmo feel and sound. I look forward to trying one someday! Tried both v4s and the 1260s and it was so clear to me. I wrote the check for the 1260 with travel set up and full race terminal, exhaust. Bucket list bike for me

They make the DesertX , it is for off road adventure riding but I haven’t tested it off yet , but others have

Ha that is a hard choice … V4s is less money but has more extras/accessories… the PP is more money with less extras … but it has that extra for me on the road .. just depends on what you want it for I guess
Enjoyed it mate but would have been a lot better without the continual switching from rider to screen views. I want to see the bike not the rider's helmet and torso. I will be back for more.
Thanks , we’re all different mate , I prefer that when I watch videos then just looking at the bars and the clocks, it’s personal thing but how I do it , But in he summer il have someone with me sometimes for shots of the bike.. they don’t like standing around in the freezing cold
@@ProjectMoto As you say, each to his own. I prefer the view out front, not just because of the clocks but because I can then get a better feel of the bike and the road in a vicarious sense. My favourite youtube channel is Schaaf because of this. Best wishes.

I was going to buy a PP but after half an hour in the Showroom I went for the V4s Full, reason being, I need/want heated grips, seat, panniers, and centre stand, all of these items are not on the PP, you have to spend a few grand more making it around 27k, I couldn’t justify it and I preferred the grey on the V4s
Yeah the V4s full has loads more on it and to get the PP to same spec in that way does push the price up, both bike are very good at doing what they are designed to do, it just depends on what you want and need from the bike

TBH, the PP looks a bit like a chavved up version, get the V4s and put the race cans on it, save your money for fuel!
Tbh they are so different to ride , would say put the exhaust system in both bikes .. but depending on what you use it for they both have their advantages, me personally I’d have the pikes peak for sure.. but then I can afford either so it don’t matter 😂
@@ProjectMoto Yeah, I think it's a more track race focussed MS that you can ride comfortably to the track, on a weight loss plan with SSA and a smaller racey front wheel. The race mode is just a variation of a theme, it's SPORT with everything turned off! The stock MS V4S looks less conspicuous so plod won't pull you over as much and you still need to put the Akrapovic race system on it @ over £2k. I love the crap out of my MS V4S, I like my Ducati's stock, without all the chavved up crappy bits on which makes it look cheap. I'll be putting the Akrapovic race system on it, just as soon as I've sold my last kidney! The only time I'll be selling is when the next MS comes out! The only problem is you just want to nail it everywhere, can't stop riding it!
Fuel economy is a big negative you don't go into on the v4 . Probably don't natter as much on pikes .... but 130 miles to reserve unacceptable.
Also personally find the 1290 KTM adv more exciting.

Tbh I don’t say about fuel consumption as it’s not something I really think about, I’ve owned loads of bikes and I couldn’t tell you what bike did what on a tank of fuel, literally never thought about it, I don’t do any touring but obviously a lot of people do, if you do do touring then the Multistrada definitely has a shorter range then say a BMW GS1250, I’ve heard of ranges of about 180 miles on a tank on the V4 depending on how it’s ridden, that would be more then enough for me for a stop but for touring u don’t want to be looking for a petrol station I guess, yeah the KTM is also a great bike, everyone is going to like different bikes, maybe they will bring out an Enduro with a bigger tank range but I still think with the mpg the V4 engine will use more fuel..partly because you ride faster on the V4 too :)

I have a MS V4S. and ride it every day. Don't buy into the speed hype, Its a superb bike but its an adventure motorcycle with ADV bike speed. an old sportsbike would eat it on the road. Most of my riding is on mountain roads with GS, KTM, AT and the like. You have to ring its neck to stay with these bikes. Speedo is optimistic real 100mph the bike is revving at 7200 and at 10,000 reline its doing 139mph on a satnav. The bike will over rev another 1000 so you may squeeze more top speed. BTW: the PP has the same engine and gearing.
Yeah the engine and gearing is the same on the pikes peak , but it definitely handles different , I just think they are both great bikes , the full Akrapovic system helps them , was waiting for it for the Pikes Peak for the video but is still on back order , of course they are not as fast as the Panigale or Streetfighter V4 , but on roads round this way being small and bumpy the Multistrada’s are just so good on them
The V4S is the best choice for me, but too much hype about 170bhp & easy 160mph. Misleading for people looking for honest reviews. Buy the bike because its a great allrounder not because you are going to leave other big bore bikes in your wake, it's not going to happen.

Never actually said anything about top speed, and i don’t know what top speed got to do with riding fast down the roads that we ride on here , I just know I have ridden all kinds of bikes down these roads and the Pikes Peak makes them easy, just do these video for fun as I’ve got access to these bikes .. I can only say what I honestly think.. and I honestly think it’s a great bike, won’t be for everyone but I like it

Did you notice much difference in the riding position? Different reviews saying different things…
There is a little bit of difference, the pegs are a little higher and the handle bars are not as wide either , just works well with how you ride it, a little more sporty feel , maybe a taller person would notice it more, kinda fits me more the Pike Peak

I have a 21 V4S w/ radar. He does it all. I track him, take him on road trips. Ive done 3 dirt road camping trips with it... I run from the cops on it. Moto cops even. Muahaha. Seriously its a deamon. Id be hell on earth with this thing.
I toyed with buying one. But im gonna order the SP2 Panigale instead. Ill keep the Multi for touring. I miss my 20 Panigale I traded for the Multi.

Ducati employee promoting ducati product, its a shame it looks worse, sounds worse, uses more fuel and produces less torque than the outgoing model, sure its a great bike for people that don't want a GS, Same reason I traded a 1250 rallye, but I'll keep my 1260S pikes peak 😊👍
