I had a Multi V4S last year but traded it for a Streetfighter V4 at the end of the riding season. I rode a Pikes Peak last month and take delivery tomorrow. It's the best of both worlds.
Hi I agree with everything you have said, I bought a Multistada v4 S Sport in March 2021 from Ducati Alton ,an excellent bike having sold my 2020 BMW 1250TE covered over 2000 miles on it last year, and a BMW 1000xr another 2000 miles. In October /november last year I ordered a Pikes Peak having had Three v twin Pikes Peak previously and expected delivery in Sept 2022 ,like yours I had a call from Alton to say someone had cancelled and took delivery 3 weeks ago ,by far the best Sports Tourer I have ever had and from my point of view probably the best Ducati , and I have a few first service next week .At 75 years old and still working full time to pay for it and worth every penny.
That’s Amazing Mark, someone recently ask me after riding the pikes peak is it worth it and I said don’t bother because you’ll end up buying one. They were into track days on there 1260 multistrada and it’s perfect for that more sports thrills and I have to agree Ducati have got it right on both bikes.
Age 75--love it! I am a mere punk age 63 and Sept 1 is my day to receive. it better be good--I have a Superduke 1290GT now and it does no wrong. These are for riding my wife--but I want least concessions to sportiness.
I've been really struggling with whether to get a Street Fighter V4S or Multistrada. Currently riding a 959 Panigale and my aging neck and wrists can't take it anymore. This review has really helped. Multistrada it is. Thanks guys.

Just completed the 600-mile check along with adding the Akra Race Ti exhaust with the UpMap to my '22 MTS PP. Really helped midrange grunt and much better sound!

Had the V4S sport , sold it for the PP , worst mistake I made as the roads I ride are challenging and the PP struggled , good on smooth but twitchy on technical roads . Changed it for the another V4s as It just better. You can thrash the bugger out of the V4 s in all situations . The PP in my opinion is a good bike but floored , great bikers meet tart mind....
Interesting point Stick, I can see your problem with the PP, I guess some people might seem to think it’s a better all round bike because it’s more money or got some trick bits on. @@thatbikersimon I hope he gets on with it , I just found the PP was hard work, twitchy and intermittent with is riding character, one thing the V4s does not do as it just works so so well on the real roads we all seem to ride now. If on perfect tarmac all the time it would be great , but no quicker or better than a well ridden V4s and to be brutally honest the Sky Hook is better than the track focused Ohlins.
I originally ordered the pikes peak when they first announced the v4 Multistrada but cancelled when the sport was available which looks amazing and glad I did . Great choice Greg, I’m well happpy with my V4S I’ve just got back for the Lake District (new Vlogg on Friday 4pm 😉) and the bike preformed very well over the lanes and perfect for what i needed it to do, I’m not sure I would want to do it on the PP but everyone to there own. I think it’s great there still marking the PP then there’s a better choice for everyone. 👍
The Pikes is for tall sportbike riders who want comfort for long trips. I'd say the V4S owner still expects to go on dirt trails, occasionally mud and sand, whereas the Pikes is tarmac only. I'd get a Pikes and a DesertX lol
I would choose the one without topcase! 🙂 I ride the Streefighter V4S and the MS 1200 Enduro now but I am cosidering to exchange the two to the Pikes Peak. You can only use one bike at the time and I think the Pikes Peak nails it for my riding style.
You’ll be absolutely fine with the PP if your after the sporty thrill of the v4 engine and the comfort of a multistrada. My buddy in the video did exactly that, and he can’t fault the Pikes Peak after owning the Streetfighter V4s. 👍
I own the Multi V4s and Streetfighter V4s. I ride the Multi when the wife is on the back and when touring and the Streetfighter when solo and riding more aggressively. Lots of good roads here in the Texas Hill Country, but also lots of interesting backroads that seem better suited for the Skyhook suspension vs the active Ohlins set-up. When I switch from the Multi to the SF, all is fine and good until I start riding these country backroads. It would seem logical to combine the two bikes if not for the plusher suspension on the Multi V4S. That said, I have not ridden the PP, but I am assuming it would be a similar issue with the gnarly backroads, although the more upright sitting position would make things more tolerable on the PP vs the SF.
Hi Jerry, For me it’s a very similar set up or though we don’t have to many backroads, but In the uk we have more and more pot holes, so the Multi deals with them great. I also have a SFV4S which I use more for track now. Both great bikes.
The Texas Hill Country is a great place to own a bike and the multistrada is a dream out west of Austin. I also own the Suzuki GSXS 1000GT and it is great in the hill country as well I alternate them on different weekends depending on whether I want the great technology of the Ducati or the smooth inline four of the Suzuki along with it's far superior quick shifter. So glad I picked up the Multistrada V4S. I never thought I would own one but I love every minute of it.

For a while I couldn’t decide whether to wait for a PP or go for the sport, as I couldn’t justify paying the premium for a PP without actually trying it !! managed to get hold of an mts sport from Brian at Ducati Alton 3 weeks in and I still can’t get the grin of my face … what a machine ….
Hi KB, I think both bikes are amazing and you definitely wouldn’t be disappointed with either, It not been easy getting the demo rides on any Ducatis in the last 2 years so know what you mean, Even at the big shows some biker were missing. Hopefully you’ll not have to wait to long for yours but the bonus of theses bikes you can use them all year round. Enjoy and Ride safe 👍
V4s has to be the choice unless you’re going to play on a track occasionally. Pikes looks stunning but it’s all vanity if only being used on the road. Only £5k difference, buy both ;-)
I’m not sure I would buy one for the track but il be honest it was a good ride but I’m definitely sticking with my v4s due to the type of riding il be doing. 👍
An interesting comment you make regarding Ducati chains. I have the Streetfighter V4SP and cannot stop the rust from forming. I thought it must be my lack of maintenance !! My 2019 Multistrada has no such issue. I shall investigate new chain options. Thanks for your video. Most enjoyable.
Many thanks for the comment, it’s more of a common problem than you think I’ve spoken to many Ducati owners regarding this issue and myself owning a SFV4S and MSV4S I’ve swapped both chains and it’s solved the chain issue. Its a real shame but Ducati need to sort there quality control out especially on 20k plus bikes. 🏍️💨💨
I did the same - traded my V4S Multi, and my SF V4S in for a PP. I have a dedicated track bike (V2 Pani and RS660) I plan to tour my PP all over the US. I've owned Multis since they first came out in 2005. Toured them all over the world, and for me the 17 inch wheel and Ohlins are just better, but that's just me :-) Oh, and i did buy a DesertX too for the rough stuff
It’s sounds like your living the dream with the Ducati seen Angus. I would like a desert X but I feel well don’t have the terrain in the uk to justify it. The PP is a amazing bike but me personally wouldn’t swap it for the multistrada v4s, I saw the new multistrada rally but again it’s just more too heavy weight for me. I’ve been checking out the rs660 and would love a spin on one. Im hoping to get some tours around Europe next year and bring some good content to the channel. Ride safe Angus 👍
The break in process, given by the manufacturers, almost ensures piston rings that don’t break in properly. The only part of an engine that touches are the piston rings, every other bearing surface is separated by a thin film of oil. The piston rings require heat and load to break into the cylinder wall properly, and following the manufacturer’s procedure will never create that environment.

New Chain & Sprocket after ONLY 2,000 Miles ua-cam.com/video/MTBCmOr39nA/v-deo.html I’m not sure if I mention the brand of chain and sprocket in this video (click link) I aslo did a video of hard wiring my sat nav to the bike which I used the evotech bracket for my TomTom but you can buy a attachment for a phone. I personally use the waterproof quadlock mount for my phone that also keeps it charged.
I would buy one straight away, if I could get it for 27k. But unfortunately, I live in the worlds happiest country, Finland, where this bike starts from 42k, and it doesn`t even have these heated grips yet! Think, our net income is lowest in northern countries, our taxation is one of the highest in the world, and a Ducati Pikes Peak costs 42k to start from!!! Maybe I buy a honda.
Wow Kake, I didn’t realise that. That’s crazy prices. Even I can’t afford 27k my v4s was a demo bike for 18.5k which is still a lot for my salary. But I had a Honda Africa twin new in 2017 (dct version) and I had just as much fun on that bike and probably more so because if I dropped it I wouldn’t worry to much about it, these Ducatis have become to expensive for the purpose, it was built for.

V4 for road, touring, off-road and some track action. PP for riding to the track. With the PP you'll still need to get the racing pipes @ over £3k. The PP is too focussed really, it's over kill, the forks and shock can have the crap adjusted out of them, specifically for the track. The PP isn't any better or faster, it's 'different' and fills a niche gap the V4 doesn't quite do. So, unless all you want to do is ride to track days, go for the PP but you might as well have a Panigale, buy the V4 and save your money for fuel, you'll need it. Personally, I prefer the looks of the V4, the PP looks like it's been over pimped by a chav with too much money.
Hi Gary, the PP feels so sharpe is a noticeable difference but i be honest the V4s is better for what I need it to do, I’ve just come back from the Lake District and it was perfect on the trails, ( new video next week on this) but if you get the opportunity to ride one jump on its a great ride. 👍
There is definitely some truth in that question, but then maybe if the person can afford the bike they can also afford to drop it. I don’t think theses are a good off road bike but I also think that about the GS1250 most people but them for touring and there great for that. The multistrada is a big heavy bike and it’s to nice to drop. I shall be keeping mine more for when I carry a pillion on the back. I’m looking to buy a KTM 890 adventure bike so I can drop that and no worrie about it. 👍
Good question Dar R, me personally I would upgrade purely to have a newer bike with the latest tech, as for performance there’s not a lot in it. I guess it comes down to how much money you willing to part with because it’s a big jump in price. I don’t think anyone upgrading would be disappointed in the new PP.

I've got 2020 PP 1260 ,not seen anything to make me chop it in for the V4 yet ,2023 will have auto lowering suspension so being a short ass that might do it but I'm sticking with the 1260 and enjoy the grunt :).
To be honest I think if I’d had bought that bike instead of the 950s multistrada I probably wouldn’t of changed. The v4 engine is nice and smooth but the extra money does have to be justified 👍

The question is what do you want the bike to do? If your after more fast road riding and some track days the pikes peak would be the one otherwise trails and road the multistrada v4s would do it.
Having owned both, the one thing you simply missed and ignore is the PP’s tendency to try and push your lower back through your skull every time you hit a pothole here in the UK….which lets face it, is every time you go out for a ride now :( I find the comfort of the Skyhook suspension out weighs the harder and more aggressive Ohlins. Don’t get me wrong, I love them both but the reason for owning an MTS in my mind is being able to get on it and do 500 miles in a day, get off fresh as a daisy without having your lover spine disintegrated by our shite roads. I have an Indian FTR Carbon R that is very good at making me feel like a cripple after an hour on it….but its a true hooligan machine as well.
Interesting comment Andy and I totally agree, me personally I wouldn’t swap my Multistrada v4 for the PP I do intend to use mine for the purpose of adventure riding and the pot holes are only going to get bigger. I am looking for a sporty bike, and I prefer the look of the PP to the XR, plus I find the XR uncomfortable on a test ride. When test riding the V4S it was comfortable. I’m 6.2. I just love the look of the PP with a full exhaust. Some say the steering is twitchy, I imagine similar to the XR which I found fine. Sometime it’s nice to cruise along with softer suspension. @@Costema37 Hi Matt, I’ve not spent much time on the pikes peak but I didn’t find the suspension to hard. It’s a nice ride and if you want the sports reel then this is the bike to go for, especially when your a tall guy you’ll get your feet flat down to it won’t feel so top heavy. Also it’s a beautiful looking bike. What I tend to do with all my bikes is get the suspension set up professionally, you’ll be surprised at how much difference their is. 👍

Also has your friend thought about the race exhaust as I hear they really do improve the mid range and give you another 10 BHP and increase torque? The V4S I found very comfortable. Cheers
It’s a great bike the PP for sure, I’m personally will sick with my multistrada v4s just because it’s more adventure set up. If I was racing more on the roads il would choose the Pikes Peak 👍
It’s a tough decision either way you’ll not be disappointed with your choice. I would say if your planing on doing a few trails then get the V4s or faster road focus riding then the PP is the bike, now I’ve change my tyres on the V4s it definitely makes it more sporty. 👍
Nice comparison. I chose the Pikes Peak. Not going off road and figured if I’m spending that much for a multi, may as well spend a bit more for the PP. As for the chain, only at 1000km and it’s already sloppy and needs to be significantly adjusted. May need to follow your advice…
I was Super impressed with the pikes peak but definitely one for road racing. I guess the issue is if you want one you’ve got to wait a while for it. 👍

Same here MTS, i think the PP looks great but not for me the Multistrada V4s ticks all the boxes for me, I’ve booked the my multistrada on track to so in the next coming weeks , s hopefully il have some fotage of it on track with stock tyres to see how it will perform. 🏍💨💨💨
For the premium price point to actually suggest a substitute chain and sprocket lost me. The BMW has a great endurance chain no issue ever. Ducati is a good looking bike but I heard no built in GPS? Is that true? No one ever covers electronics to well or at all on the ducati's
@@thatbikersimon Gone are the days of Miguel Galluzzi and Tamburini. Ducati design died after VW take over in the early 2010s. It's now playing a catch up design game to Honda and Kawasaki.
Had me at "Lot more sportier". That is my aim--coming KTM Superduke GT now and having decided a 19" not needed ever in my riding style (Already owned three KTM Adventures). Hope I'm right--the KTM GT is a peach and I could live with it happily.
Well Tom, i still need to ride a superduke GT, I thinking a good video coming up soon. The Competition at the top is tight and it all comes down to personal choice in the end but there’s still plenty of bikes I still need to ride. 👍
It sure does but it really depends on how you want to ride. The multistrada v4s would be a better choice if you want to ride trials ect. The PP is more of a road racer
What nonsense. Exploring the handling of these 2 high-performance Ducatis by taking them on a little bimble around some country lanes and a trip to McDonalds. I suppose you spent the money, so you have to think the PP is more planted. What tosh. And slandering D.I.D again, claiming they make chains out of Chinese scrap Iron. Not British scrap iron but Chinese. Don't believe any of it, people. My Multi chain is a top quality D.I.D and is easy to clean and doesn't rust because I lube it regularly. I have a lot of miles on my V4s, and I am still on the original chain. Why couldn't you guys just have stated that you wanted a gold plated chain for cosmetic appearance and leave it at that instead of slagging off D.I D, Ducati, and China. First world arrogance, IMO. That's a first buying a new bike and asking the dealer to transfer the drive chain from your trade-in.
I guess we are all entitled to our opinions, but actually you are a small minority that’s not agreed with chain issue, remember when all those new Multistrada v4’s engine got scrapped because of the Indian manufacture messed up on the valves. The last thing I wanted to but was a new chain on a new bike but so many complaints regarding the chain I now know I was right. 👌
So an adventure buke, Which means you should be able to go light off roading. Neither of these bikes would be capable of anything more than tackling a slightly damp lawn. Pointless adventure bikes, + These two guys are just poser flash your money about guys.

Ducati has got a lot of nerve charging that much for a bike then not including heated grips, center stand, luggage etcetera etcetera the. Icing on the cake is wanting to put new chain and sprockets on a brand new bike because the old chain has made from a tin of Campbell's soup. Can we not get a bike that has the works for a decent price that you don't have to do shit to?
Unfortunately it will only get worse with these big manufacturers, like KTM putting all the hardware on but switching the software off after 30days and making you buy it again. I’m sure they will all start doing this eventually. But I do agree it’s a lot of money and they want more and more.

What you where pointing at is the oil cooler the radiators are on the sides .
Well spotted… it’s definitely needs a cover on all of it which I think they all come as a 3 part cover. 👍

Hi KB, I think both bikes are amazing and you definitely wouldn’t be disappointed with either, It not been easy getting the demo rides on any Ducatis in the last 2 years so know what you mean, Even at the big shows some biker were missing. V4s has to be the choice unless you’re going to play on a track occasionally. Pikes looks stunning but it’s all vanity if only being used on the road. Only £5k difference, buy both ;-)
I’m not sure I would buy one for the track but il be honest it was a good ride but I’m definitely sticking with my v4s due to the type of riding il be doing. 👍
An interesting comment you make regarding Ducati chains. I have the Streetfighter V4SP and cannot stop the rust from forming. I thought it must be my lack of maintenance !! My 2019 Multistrada has no such issue. I shall investigate new chain options. Thanks for your video. Most enjoyable.
Many thanks for the comment, it’s more of a common problem than you think I’ve spoken to many Ducati owners regarding this issue and myself owning a SFV4S and MSV4S I’ve swapped both chains and it’s solved the chain issue. Its a real shame but Ducati need to sort there quality control out especially on 20k plus bikes. 🏍️💨💨
Hey guys I have a SF V2 and have the same issue, i clean and lube it every 500/1000km max and there is always some rust on it
V4S is best, Cleary. Heated grips heated seats, better windscreen. And 2 color choices.

I did the same - traded my V4S Multi, and my SF V4S in for a PP. I have a dedicated track bike (V2 Pani and RS660) I plan to tour my PP all over the US. I've owned Multis since they first came out in 2005. Toured them all over the world, and for me the 17 inch wheel and Ohlins are just better, but that's just me :-) Oh, and i did buy a DesertX too for the rough stuff
It’s sounds like your living the dream with the Ducati seen Angus. I would like a desert X but I feel well don’t have the terrain in the uk to justify it. The PP is a amazing bike but me personally wouldn’t swap it for the multistrada v4s, I saw the new multistrada rally but again it’s just more too heavy weight for me. I’ve been checking out the rs660 and would love a spin on one. Im hoping to get some tours around Europe next year and bring some good content to the channel. Ride safe Angus 👍

The break in process, given by the manufacturers, almost ensures piston rings that don’t break in properly. The only part of an engine that touches are the piston rings, every other bearing surface is separated by a thin film of oil. The piston rings require heat and load to break into the cylinder wall properly, and following the manufacturer’s procedure will never create that environment.

I aslo did a video of hard wiring my sat nav to the bike which I used the evotech bracket for my TomTom but you can buy a attachment for a phone.
I personally use the waterproof quadlock mount for my phone that also keeps it charged.
I would buy one straight away, if I could get it for 27k. But unfortunately, I live in the worlds happiest country, Finland, where this bike starts from 42k, and it doesn`t even have these heated grips yet! Think, our net income is lowest in northern countries, our taxation is one of the highest in the world, and a Ducati Pikes Peak costs 42k to start from!!!

Wow Kake, I didn’t realise that. That’s crazy prices. Even I can’t afford 27k my v4s was a demo bike for 18.5k which is still a lot for my salary. But I had a Honda Africa twin new in 2017 (dct version) and I had just as much fun on that bike and probably more so because if I dropped it I wouldn’t worry to much about it, these Ducatis have become to expensive for the purpose, it was built for.

V4 for road, touring, off-road and some track action. PP for riding to the track. With the PP you'll still need to get the racing pipes @ over £3k. The PP is too focussed really, it's over kill, the forks and shock can have the crap adjusted out of them, specifically for the track. The PP isn't any better or faster, it's 'different' and fills a niche gap the V4 doesn't quite do. So, unless all you want to do is ride to track days, go for the PP but you might as well have a Panigale, buy the V4 and save your money for fuel, you'll need it. Personally, I prefer the looks of the V4, the PP looks like it's been over pimped by a chav with too much money.

Genuinely I only tend to clean it when I’m filming. I don’t get time to wash after every ride unless there’s salt on the road.
I went from a Diavel Carbon to a V4S , talk about night and day! I just think about turning and it’s going! I can’t imagine what the PP is like….
Hi Gary, the PP feels so sharpe is a noticeable difference but i be honest the V4s is better for what I need it to do, I’ve just come back from the Lake District and it was perfect on the trails, ( new video next week on this) but if you get the opportunity to ride one jump on its a great ride. 👍
What is the purpose of an all terrain motorcycle that is "too expensive to drop"?
There is definitely some truth in that question, but then maybe if the person can afford the bike they can also afford to drop it. I don’t think theses are a good off road bike but I also think that about the GS1250 most people but them for touring and there great for that. The multistrada is a big heavy bike and it’s to nice to drop. I shall be keeping mine more for when I carry a pillion on the back. I’m looking to buy a KTM 890 adventure bike so I can drop that and no worrie about it. 👍

I like your comparison but many want to know if the V4 Pikes Peak is worth upgrading from the 1260 Pikes Peak.
Good question Dar R, me personally I would upgrade purely to have a newer bike with the latest tech, as for performance there’s not a lot in it. I guess it comes down to how much money you willing to part with because it’s a big jump in price. I don’t think anyone upgrading would be disappointed in the new PP.

I've got 2020 PP 1260 ,not seen anything to make me chop it in for the V4 yet ,2023 will have auto lowering suspension so being a short ass that might do it but I'm sticking with the 1260 and enjoy the grunt :).
To be honest I think if I’d had bought that bike instead of the 950s multistrada I probably wouldn’t of changed. The v4 engine is nice and smooth but the extra money does have to be justified 👍
Auto lowering suspension is already on the V4, it was in a softwear update 3 months ago.

The question is what do you want the bike to do? If your after more fast road riding and some track days the pikes peak would be the one otherwise trails and road the multistrada v4s would do it.

Having owned both, the one thing you simply missed and ignore is the PP’s tendency to try and push your lower back through your skull every time you hit a pothole here in the UK….which lets face it, is every time you go out for a ride now :( I find the comfort of the Skyhook suspension out weighs the harder and more aggressive Ohlins.
Don’t get me wrong, I love them both but the reason for owning an MTS in my mind is being able to get on it and do 500 miles in a day, get off fresh as a daisy without having your lover spine disintegrated by our shite roads.
I have an Indian FTR Carbon R that is very good at making me feel like a cripple after an hour on it….but its a true hooligan machine as well.
Interesting comment Andy and I totally agree, me personally I wouldn’t swap my Multistrada v4 for the PP I do intend to use mine for the purpose of adventure riding and the pot holes are only going to get bigger. I am looking for a sporty bike, and I prefer the look of the PP to the XR, plus I find the XR uncomfortable on a test ride. When test riding the V4S it was comfortable. I’m 6.2. I just love the look of the PP with a full exhaust. Some say the steering is twitchy, I imagine similar to the XR which I found fine. Sometime it’s nice to cruise along with softer suspension. @@Costema37 Hi Matt, I’ve not spent much time on the pikes peak but I didn’t find the suspension to hard. It’s a nice ride and if you want the sports reel then this is the bike to go for, especially when your a tall guy you’ll get your feet flat down to it won’t feel so top heavy. Also it’s a beautiful looking bike. What I tend to do with all my bikes is get the suspension set up professionally, you’ll be surprised at how much difference their is. 👍

I Drive a BMW s1000xr also a sport Touring i would go for the pikes Peak al day.
It’s a great bike the PP for sure, I’m personally will sick with my multistrada v4s just because it’s more adventure set up. If I was racing more on the roads il would choose the Pikes Peak 👍

Rode both at a demo day on the weekend, head says v4s loaded up is better value....heart says pp....was hoping this vid would help me choose 😂
It’s a tough decision either way you’ll not be disappointed with your choice. I would say if your planing on doing a few trails then get the V4s or faster road focus riding then the PP is the bike, now I’ve change my tyres on the V4s it definitely makes it more sporty. 👍
Nice comparison. I chose the Pikes Peak. Not going off road and figured if I’m spending that much for a multi, may as well spend a bit more for the PP. As for the chain, only at 1000km and it’s already sloppy and needs to be significantly adjusted. May need to follow your advice…
I was Super impressed with the pikes peak but definitely one for road racing. I guess the issue is if you want one you’ve got to wait a while for it. 👍

Yes there’s a lot of differences, I guess it ultimately comes down to down to what type of riding you want to do
For my type of riding (cross country) the V4s is way to go not going to change it to PP
Same here MTS, i think the PP looks great but not for me the Multistrada V4s ticks all the boxes for me, I’ve booked the my multistrada on track to so in the next coming weeks , s hopefully il have some fotage of it on track with stock tyres to see how it will perform. 🏍💨💨💨

For the premium price point to actually suggest a substitute chain and sprocket lost me. The BMW has a great endurance chain no issue ever. Ducati is a good looking bike but I heard no built in GPS? Is that true? No one ever covers electronics to well or at all on the ducati's

@@thatbikersimon Gone are the days of Miguel Galluzzi and Tamburini. Ducati design died after VW take over in the early 2010s. It's now playing a catch up design game to Honda and Kawasaki.

Had me at "Lot more sportier". That is my aim--coming KTM Superduke GT now and having decided a 19" not needed ever in my riding style (Already owned three KTM Adventures). Hope I'm right--the KTM GT is a peach and I could live with it happily.
Well Tom, i still need to ride a superduke GT, I thinking a good video coming up soon. The Competition at the top is tight and it all comes down to personal choice in the end but there’s still plenty of bikes I still need to ride. 👍

My Multi chain is a top quality D.I.D and is easy to clean and doesn't rust because I lube it regularly.
I have a lot of miles on my V4s, and I am still on the original chain.
Why couldn't you guys just have stated that you wanted a gold plated chain for cosmetic appearance and leave it at that instead of slagging off D.I D, Ducati, and China.

That's a first buying a new bike and asking the dealer to transfer the drive chain from your trade-in.
I guess we are all entitled to our opinions, but actually you are a small minority that’s not agreed with chain issue, remember when all those new Multistrada v4’s engine got scrapped because of the Indian manufacture messed up on the valves. The last thing I wanted to but was a new chain on a new bike but so many complaints regarding the chain I now know I was right. 👌

Ducati has got a lot of nerve charging that much for a bike then not including heated grips, center stand, luggage etcetera etcetera the. Icing on the cake is wanting to put new chain and sprockets on a brand new bike because the old chain has made from a tin of Campbell's soup.
Can we not get a bike that has the works for a decent price that you don't have to do shit to?
Unfortunately it will only get worse with these big manufacturers, like KTM putting all the hardware on but switching the software off after 30days and making you buy it again. I’m sure they will all start doing this eventually. But I do agree it’s a lot of money and they want more and more.
