Very good and thanks a lot for letting us in there. It was both exiting and interesting at the same time. Great stuff and Greetings from WW2HistoryHunter.
I love your videos! Those bunkers are creepy just because, but with them being flooded, WAY creepier! Can't wait to see next week's upload! Thanks so much for sharing and take care!!
Hello, excellent vidja, we really appreciate the lengths you guys go to in bringing history to life, these truly are historical documents. Presumably the water is accumalated rain water and not the natural water course/table height, quite amazing how sturdy the ring girders are after approx 70 years of submersion. Thanks again Ian and Chris for showing us the hidden world war 2 relics beneath our feet, cheers.
Big well. done to both of you, you have got more balls than I would have had to go down, the shelter looks like it's in ok condition considering its under all that water all the time, looking forward to part 3. Great job and more power to you both.
that was absolutely fascinating guys. Glad to see in the highlights of your next video you've brought along an inflatable boat to explore the rest of the complex cos those waders looked uncomfortable.
Great video. A fantastic place to go. The wet, and the cold add to the fun. I use a wet suit for places like that though as chest waders may drag you down under water if they fill up. A wet suit will help you float if you step in water over your head.
Wow! what a fantastic exploration. Well done chaps. It might be worth getting a small radio controlled boat with a camera on it to capture some of the deeper stuff.
Great vid looking forward to next week with the dingy. I take it that dust you can moving around is safe, as that would worry me as much as my waders failing.
It would be nice if you could describe the smell of these places for us viewers at home just to get us a little closer to the experience of being there.
Hi, I showed my Husband a part of this video which triggered his memory of a time he lived in Virginia Water not far from Wentworth golf course. He was a young teenager at the time when he explored the Wentworth home guard WW2 bunker. Back then the bunker was known locally as "Monty's Hole" , so I look online and lo and behold your video pops up from 2018 on it lol.
I wonder if the water mark represents the seasonal lower edge of the Vadose zone. It sounds like whoever planned the shelter did not do a very good hydrogeological survey. I guess they didn't have time to do that properly back in 41'. The other possibility is that they wanted max overhead cover to protect themselves agaianst armour piercing bombs dropped from high altitudes. Kind of like the Mittlewerks. Do you ever worry about H2S and other noxious gases while you are exploring these deep tunnels? Might be a good idea to bring a gas detector & emergency breathing air?
from the rust line on the walls being consistent you can tell the water level was higher at one time most likely from water table rising during peak bad weather
You should have taken some glow sticks with you and put them on the floating polystyrene slabs that were down there, it might have brightened the tunnels up a bit better.
Reminds me of some of the Japanese B-rated monster movies of the 60s where the critter comes and grabs you never to be seen again. Yummm! Stay safe down there.
Cool vid, I would suggest in future getting some steel boot inserts just some 2mm sheet metal, it stops nails and stuff going through your foot, im sure you could find a mate that could make them for you.
this is very interesting, im not able to find any bunkers or anything near where i live in the United States, and just wanted to say, keep up the good work, and merry christmas
That's a lot of people's idea of hell on earth. To my inexpert eye it looks like a wetsuit job - you could wear an old pair of heavy boots, but go as far as you liked without flooding. A great explore, though. I note that it isn't listed on the SubBrit site. Great video, as always. Cheers!
This complex of tunnels was built to house a communications centre but was never used as such. Montgomery was based in a private house in Broadwater Down, a few hundred yards from the tunnels. As the war progressed, Montgomery had to move his Headquarters away from Tunbridge Wells and this made the tunnels redundant before they were ever used.
look around 19:50 you hear the water tapping sounds like foot steps but if you look close at the video you see a orb fly in and past camera dont look like dust as it moves fast spooky your not allow lads ha
Sad thing is, when you guys find a monster we'll never get to see it :( But fun watching until you do. Also, you need a radio boat with camera and torch on it.
If it froze more than 6 inches could you crawl on it? Carefully! I fell into our pond when I was younger because I went on thin ice. This is just an idea, I would not suggest doing it because you would be trapped if you fell in.
Very good and thanks a lot for letting us in there. It was both exiting and interesting at the same time. Great stuff and Greetings from WW2HistoryHunter.

No one can question your dedication guys.
cheers

5:46 I ❤ Chris's sarcastic sense of humor!
(Ian) Just make sure you hold onto the walls you don't want to trip!
(Chris) What with my third hand? 😂🤣😂

Did you spot the circa 1930's light fitting with the tassel switch hanging underneath it.
It is floating in the water around 12m 25s in.
you need some kayaks down there!! good vid bro.
Can't wait for next week!
Awwesome guys i wonder what you would fined if it could be pumped out, thinking there would be loads of goodys down there :)

Awesome guys look forward to next bid. Atb
Hi Iks,another excellent video. How do you manage to navigate around the tunnels and not get lost?keep up the hard work
Cool vid, I would suggest in future getting some steel boot inserts just some 2mm sheet metal, it stops nails and stuff going through your foot, im sure you could find a mate that could make them for you.
A camera on an R/C boat? You could send it where you wanted. You could have it on a long line for retrieval purposes.
Such a great explore, I certainly need to get a pair of waders and head down ;-)
it is very deep in places :S
so I've heard! i will just have to be extra vigilant ;)
what lights do you use with yourev cameras and all the torches that you use for filming plus what cameras do you use to film with thanks
brilliant film guys, would love to see it myself 😃
I can't wait to see the next part.

New subscriber. Love the channel, keep up the great work, it's fascinating!
+Toy Terror thanks for your support :)
this is very interesting, im not able to find any bunkers or anything near where i live in the United States, and just wanted to say, keep up the good work, and merry christmas
how long would it take to pump all the water out?
quite a while i think
I wonder where the rubble comes from is it the lining do you think
Can you not get the go pro underwater as it looked pretty clear in places. I have a underwater housing for my camera.
Really good work! Great channel this!

I love your videos, keep on!

Great video, you should invest in a headlamp just to make life easier! keep up the good work!
Need a kayak, imagine meeting someone with a flashlight coming the other way. Surprised heavy equipment doesn't fall into some of these from above.
Its deeper underground than it looks !!
Amazing video! wow :) Chris with his budget waders 😂
irPsymon could write a comment while watching the clip ;)
Bin bag
i do that all the time :)
lol classic :)
last time i let ian buy me waders!!!!!!!
Another great find here guys
It looks like the water line was higher at on point. I wonder if the sinking of the tunnel shifted the water levels.
listening to other people that have been i think we were lucky as the water is normally higher :-)
Why you go through and do to bring great videos your awesome.
YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!
next time yall could get some intertubes so u dont have to worry about depth or stepping on debris
"Have you ever considered venturing into some of London's abandoned Underground Stations, old sport?"
would love too, just need some nice people to get us access :-)
wait so was this filmed in 2014-2015 then cause that's 7 years ago or did you mean 9years when you talked about the 2008 video ?
+vaw power thanks for watching

+Robert Bruce interesting thanks for sharing :)
Fantastic. I wonder how long the inflatable dingy will last,,??
How were these tunnels used? They look like cylindrical tunnels/corridors. Not much room for equipment/ bunks etc. or even desks.
They look to me like they are just a underground walkway or there probably could rooms further down that we havent seen
Looks like a good spot for a dip wearing a pair of Speedo trunks.. 😀
+Isle Of Wight Alternative Attractions lol thanks for watching:)
Enjoyed seeing that. Thanks "folks"!!🤣
Pretty cool to watch, but should you of worn a face protector of some sort in case of toxic fumes?
look around 19:50 you hear the water tapping sounds like foot steps but if you look close at the video you see a orb fly in and past camera dont look like dust as it moves fast spooky your not allow lads ha
Excellent! Fair play
can't wait 4 next week
I'd be like I hope nothings in here with us lol
What we're the floating white thinfs
Things
polystyrene :)
IKS Exploration - Fridays 10AM Is the polystyrene from a different period? Are younger adults using the poly to float the tunnels?
Wonderful... I enjoyed this!
why didn't you use the orange inflatable boat you walked over as you entered?
we had no pump and it looked like it had been there a good while
Sad thing is, when you guys find a monster we'll never get to see it :( But fun watching until you do. Also, you need a radio boat with camera and torch on it.
+Tony Balogna that's a great idea mate ! Thanks for sharing :)
Hard core explore.
Top effort lads ideal
+motonutter thanks for your support :)
good explore
First Class Sir!
another good video

IKS Exploration - Fridays 10AM have you thought of using a kayak or something to float over the water
Yes he should have canoed it!
Harwood forest

Totally want to come on one of these. Let me know when you need a body
Too bad you didn't have inflatable kayaks to zip around quickly inside
nice 1 guys
If it froze more than 6 inches could you crawl on it? Carefully! I fell into our pond when I was younger because I went on thin ice. This is just an idea, I would not suggest doing it because you would be trapped if you fell in.
toor underground to freeze, i would think its just always fooking cold
Awesome
you need diving gear silly!!! nice find!
hhhmmm...is there any particular reason why you guys choose to go down when it's flooded?
