If anyone is tuning in for the first time, you would be privileged to own a vehicle that this man has worked on. Amazing, thorough mechanic. I’ve been working in cars all my life and I learn something new every time we are lucky enough for him to upload a video. Cheers
Thanks
I agree… the courage to go right at it and not look back is amazing. I love it when he tells us DONT BE AFRAID! I’ll walk you thru it, now worries! I can’t stop watching his videos! Lol
I have a 77 vette. Sitting for 22 yrs. Need to clean old gas from tank and lines. Hoping my tank is solid. Enjoyed your video
Love watching the videos very helpfull I'm a first time owner of a 73 corvette
I take a swig of beer every time you say “OK Guys”….I am drunk halfway through the video! 😂😂
Seriously very grateful for this video series as I’m working my way through a 68, I like your simple explanations as well as ‘fix it if possible” attitude, lotta C3 how to videos out there but this series is the best!
Anything I buy from rock auto, I’ll be putting his name in the referral… even if he hasn’t done a video on the parts I’m buying. He deserves it.
Amazing job. I appreciate your knowledge and good to let us know how to do.
Good video 👍
Thank you
Thanks for this and all your videos. My C2 sender is leaking but is very similar to the C3. Great instructional video for if you are on a budget or doing a full restoration.
Great timely video as I need too it on my 71. However always use new gaskets to avoid assembling with glue or silicone. You have gone to the trouble with removing the tank so repair it properly.
I was thinking the same thing...don't bubba the job ; )
Time for a new tank and seals.
JB WELD IS THE BEST STUFF.
love your tire stands great idea, i just took 4 of those to the scrap yard uggg
Just started watching your video's Freakin" awsome! I am restoring my 69 that was damaged in Hurricane Sandy here in NY. Rest assured I will be watching from the first one on. Please keep them going! If I run into anything you haven't covered, I will try to reach out to you. Thanks again!
Glad it’s helping people out, thanks for watching
great job!
Thx
Great video. It will surely make things alot easier installing my tanks sending unit. Thanks good stuff! Kreg Scott
Thanks for the awesome feedback
Just watched this video. Great choice replacing the sending unit. I just replaced my original one on my 69 when I installed MSD Fuel Injection. When removing the fuel hose from the unit, I cracked the factory soft solder seal where the pickup tube goes thru the sealing disc. They crimped the tube in place and then lead soldered the joint to seal it. With fuel in the crack there is no way you can resolder it and you would burn the two electrical connection seals too. I know this is all factory because I am the only owner of the car. Be careful removing or installing the hose onto the steel tubing because the replacement ones are made the same way. Should have been furnace brazed, but that costs $.
Great details video. Any videos about C3 break replacement, calipers, rotors etc? I need new break on my 1973 convertible.
Emergency brake video coming out soon, my brakes are fine so I’m not doing anything with them but the emergency brake stuff none of it worked
JB weld also makes a product called JB quick weld if you don't want to wait 4to6 hours.
man you could play a drining game for as many times he says okay or okay guys
Lol
I wouldn’t put THAT gas tank back in my Corvette. It’s been leaking for years. Exact replacement tanks are readily available and not break-the-bank expensive. Replace the in-tank filter too.
yep
Don't use a power drill because it will spark! As he's sticking a camera in the hole of the tank. Lol! Great video though!
Great video. I would however shorten that main fuel line a bit as it is going to rub on the frame and cut through.
Thanks I will double check that
wow that was a lot of work.
You can take the time and do it the right way or you will have to MAKE time to do it the 2nd time if it isn’t right. 😂
When an original fuel tank is removed, where was the build sheet attached or commonly called the "Tank Sticker." I would like to snake a fiber optic bore light camera to investigate if one exist on my. '73.
If you're concerned about it blowing up, fill with water before you do things
Great video... where did you get the spanner tool to tighten the tank sender unit? Thx.
Ecklers corvette
Water on a gasoline fueled fire is not going to turn out well in most cases. Jus' Sayin'
I think you’re thinking “grease fire”
Pour some gasoline onto a fire pit, light it with a match and spray it with a garden hose see what happens, fire gets put out
Spray water on a grease fire and your whole house goes up in flames
Gasoline fire is a Class B fire. Water spreads it out. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Class_B_fire @@ProblemSolverGarage (but hey the rest of the video was great and very helpful. Seems like you have an awesome channel. I'll be checking out your other C3 content.
great video
no tank sticker?
Thanks. Don’t know what a tank sticker is
@@ProblemSolverGarage Thanks for the great video. Tank Sticker is in reference to the manufacturer leaving a spec sheet with the car. In this case they left a piece of paper on top or around the gas tank on C3's. Somewhat valuable if found with the car. Looks like your tank was pulled previously so that guy has it.
Why didn't you just replace the gas tank?
I do everything on a small budget
@@ProblemSolverGarage I understand. You do a great job explaining things and I have watched endless episodes of you. I wouldn't have had the knowledge or patience to tackle that tank. thanks for sharing your knowledge. I've learned alot from you.
Lot of unnecessary work, all you really needed to do was replace the tank sending unit and O-Ring.
Preventative maintenance.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by
reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated
central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down
all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From
2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as
exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox
oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no
investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even
created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. Called Bundesabgasbespaßungsverordnung in German.... :-(
I’ll just have to make videos on how to convert classic cars to electric
@@ProblemSolverGarage Next year Edelbrock will bring out an electric Crate engine for 1970s Chevy frames
Nice
Don't freak out so soon,,, it will not happen so soon.
Electric cars suck! Screw the green party... left wing wacko's!
Why would I have 2 fuel lines coming off tank to pump . 1976 vette
One is the return line
