What about the sign language interpreter on the Jimmy Kimmel show? He at least manage to come up with some incoherent words, was he wrong?
No, he was right, Thamsanqa Jantjie did do SOME words, smoking, circle, ect, but the majority of the time he was just doing gestures. I'm sure this interpreter just didn't want to be put on the spot to find the very few words he did know through the jumbled mess of gestures.
First off the interpreter that was on Jimmy Kimmel is an American sign language interpreter. He was interpreting whatever he could understand. But the same time who knows if this interpreter actually knows South African sign language. Because these two languages are completely different with different signing structures and also where the roots come from. So if you’re looking in the terms from American sign language absolutely the South African interpreter makes no sense. But if you’re looking through the terms someone who does know South African sign language then yeah absolutely this guy makes no sense. But Jimmy Kimmel he likes to do lots of jokes a lot. So most of the time you can’t tell if he’s being serious or not. The only thing serious about him is with his son and that’s the only thing you should take it seriously.
The story is very ambivalent.Considering the injustice done to the deaf , however one has to admire this schizophrenic patient who managed to bluff the Leader of the Free World, his accomplished Security, South African President as well as his Executives,, NIA- National Intelligence Agency as well as millions of people at this momentous occasion! Even getting away also at Brexit under everyone’s noses! He is brilliant and admire him!

I thought it was funny when she said "the fake interpreter didn't know the famous name signs for Madiba or for Pres. Obama" and the SABC sign language interpreter in the lower-left corner didn't do Madiba's name sign and finger-spelled "O B A M A" instead of doing Obama's name sign!
