Ben and Chris play in perfect unison. There is a beautiful friendship between them which spans decades. Blessed to play together and despite the obvious strain on Chris's vocals, Ben is so very respectful and grateful to do a rare duo SG with him.You would be hard pressed to find this kind of integrity in today's world.
Ben's like Chris' dad; he entertains him and just echoes him when appropriate while gleaming with pride. They're close friends, you can tell. So what, they go on tour together BFD. Regarding those who think Ben should not be there, well, the bass guitar is a subtle instrument even sublime in it's sound-register that it takes a keen ear to really tune into it. Compounding matters, it doesn't help that you're listening through your laptop, you're just not going to get the expansive sound compared to being in the audience hearing this live. The acoustics of the room would really give you that full sound. Hell, it's a blessing that he's even there at all! Most bass players wouldn't care to even show up; it' always "a positive" to have accompaniment of any sort. PLUS, you get to hear him add his 2 cents on his own Soundgarden experience as a member. The interview is equally compelling than the performance in ways.
agree 100%. one of the best, most inventive rhythmn sections in rock ever, period. Lest not forget to include the two previous bass players prior to Ben, too. It's all about that methodical pulse alive and locked in.
There's a lot to like about Ben. Apart from his decent nature and his humour, the naming of his basses etc. I first considered him a pragmatic player, like a mechanic. Recordings like this one show how he is able to play very smooth lines, also subtle, but he can also cut through the mix. A "feeling" artist, less of that phony technically perfect artist, that i see a lot. I am curious about the next HBS Album, he's got to go on.
It's amazing how Chris after a concert just in the night before still singing above the average lol You can tell how damage his voice are but you still can tell how great his voice and tecnic are. His is just amazing
His voice was NOT damaged, you kids today boy. That is evolution and mastering the art, he only got better with age, like a fine whiskey or fine wine, time and ageing makes it better. He is the greatest voice in music history for ever, and ever hand down.
This is Great and one of the best intimate shows ever! Love it! Chris sounds good here! But I can’t get over the fact that this voice is stilled now. We won’t see this again! RIP Chris
Chris IS THE BEST 🙌 😥💔 The most shocking heart breaking celebrity death that has ever hit me in such ways I cannot explain... I "KNOW" in my heart he was taken... JUSTICE FOR CHRIS My Sweet sunshower 🌦🙌💖🔊💖☀️🌧🎤🎸🎶
I can't believe I still need to say this almost 6 years later, but- CHRIS CORNELL WAS NOT MURDERED. There's absolutely 0 evidence suggesting that, and not even one person who knew him believes that. Please do your research, don't believe anything you read on Facebook, and stop spreading conspiracy theories that do nothing but further hurt his loved ones (who've already been through enough)
If only he could just gargle with tequila but that was never an option.Thankfully vocal chords heal and some of us who lost our voice for a while have healed miraculously.
Aww so glad to have come across this, awesome performance as always, and loved that story in regards to Mitch. Wish you were still here Chris, never going to be able to hear that voice or those stories anymore :(
I have never loved any voice or any man as much as Chris Cornell. I have never wanted or been attracted to men, but I FUCKING LOVE THE SHIT OUT OF YOU CHRIS CORNELL> YOU ARE MY HERO!!!! with LOVE, Chris Labbe
i never in my wildest dreams would have ever imagined that waaf would exist, and that wbcn would be gone.....Waaf's signal hardly reached boston when it started in the 70's. just an observation.
man I miss Chris and WAAF.....check out Mistress Carrie every Tuesday at 8:30 pm on her FB for cocktails in the war room also check Mistress Carrie on podcast....last week was the one and only LB

I was at this performance standing right in front of Chris, they were amazing together. It was a small crowd, about 20 of us. They do this in there FREE time while touring and it was AMAZING. Once in a lifetime. Although I think Ben was still drunk from the night before...lol
Dont get me wrong I love Ben, he is such an underrated songwriter, a really superb talent, but did he really need to be at this performance? He added very little to the proceedings. That being said, his new record is awesome. Would be cool for him to tour that record opening for Chris's solo stuff.
I thought it was fantastic he was there and offered alot. I bet it was even better in person than listening on UA-cam. Can you just not hear him? He adds alot of depth to the sound.
He is still best voice on the planet. Still listen to him when in need to raise my vibration 🌸💜🌸
Chris and Ben really had a special chemistry. Forever heartbroken. 💔💔
Chris was incredible, but Ben could very well be my favourite from Soundgarden.
@@DarthEcoli he's my favourite! Insane bass lines, amazing stage presence and absolutely unhinged sense of humour.
Pure honesty in every way. No bull shit, honest, REAL, no computerized auto tuning, just Chris Cornell was all that was needed or necessary, the end.
funny how soundgarden never got an unplugged lol then chris eventually showed everyone they would have had the best one ever in his solo career.

"No one sings like you anymore " R.i.p.😔
Fuck knows Chris was amazing, RIP, but Damn is Ben talented. Always really liked him. He wrote a lot more of the Soundgarden songs than people think.
Paul Ecoli love your comment 💟💯👌
Rest in peace Chris, we'll miss you so much

Chris has a mastery of symmetry chord advancing whilst focusing bending of interval one or two note phase.
No shit watson.
Miss you Chris. Truly one of the greatest. Poet and prophet. Phenomenal singer/songwriter

Thanks for the memories Chris.

WHAT A TALENT
In love with someone I never met. That’s Chris. ❤
I met him. He was such a nice person.
@@davidsaxe7077 That’s what everyone says about Chris. Fortunate you.

He was a recovering alcoholic, so drinking tequila probably wouldn't be the best idea for him
Thanks for posting.
I loved them guys - especially Chris
IMO ‘best album of soundgarden ‘ it was an epic change in their style to some extent. Still superunknown is their iconic album.
Aww so glad to have come across this, awesome performance as always, and loved that story in regards to Mitch. Wish you were still here Chris, never going to be able to hear that voice or those stories anymore :(
sound is incredible

He caressed and made love to his guitars. A voice that moves me to the core.

still no mind to change..................goodbye bro :-(
Superb set... but so short! (no problem, I watched it twice)
Otherwise, I think this is the first time I see Mr. Shepherd using a pick.
And the highest I've seen him hold the bass
I like this version of Black Saturday. The horns on the album recording sound goofy
Kriss Ross: Yeah, because that wouldn't be insulting at all, for Ben to "open" for Chris Cornell.
nice fucking one yeah!
They seem like they played together before. 😅😂🤣
RIP CC
Ben dresses cool
What this guitar ? D28 ?
faboupalmeraie looks like it
Martin D-28 Marquis, he was gifted it by Martin.
Handsclap for chris growling low volume
After a while (noticed it on black hole sun) the g string is out of tune, a bit flat :
20:53 the Ratskeller story Chris narrated .. how he wanted to grow into a badass looking nofucksgiven guy like Mitch .. he so would've been that

Always C
Great performance! Still hard to believe they ended this legends life
Who's 'they'? Last time I checked, he's the one who did it...
I miss deep song writing...
Egyptian white cotton T shirts are cool again.Must be a MIT school thing.
I really love Chris' voice but it sounds really broken on the high ends on this footage.
Keep watching all the way to the end. He just had to get warmed up.
Mistress Carrie is sassy

To Kriss: Go buy better soobwoofers or go on them live show.
What an ignorant douche.

Fawn Lebowitz why not...they are part of the same band, they wanted to do this for a small crowd of fans. great thing from both
Bad Question Fawn!

ben doesnt realize that nobody realizes when the bass player makes a mistake.
But everyone knows perfectly well that the previous evening was... how to say... "rough"?
