What’s in YOUR oven drawer REALLY for?
The Organized Soprano
Looll I have no clue ... will have to check
Idk. I have double ovens that are built in to my kitchen. I think mine is just storage because it's made out of wood.
Love little clover😍
Broiler
Mine's a baking drawer.
That tray is really good for baking bread, croissant, etc. 😉
Back in the day, it was the broiler. Then it was a warming drawer (some models may still have it), but now it's just storage.
No, Clover does NOT have to get out of the shot!
Ahh ok
I thought its name was dude
Yea puppers can stay. We want these angles 🤣
I think maybe your oven was in Clover's shot. 😘
LOL!!! 🐶 #imreadyformycloseup
😂
😂😊
I've always used mine for storage. I had no idea until recently of the other possible uses. Thanks for sharing!
Bonus points for the dog at the beginning looking confused by everything.
Funny I just ran across this video. My sister and I were discussing it the other night. Seems to close to the floor to put food in to me. Ours was very grimy when we moved in. I recently cleaned it out and now trying to decide if I want to use it for storage. Sn: when my daughter was little she used to pull the drawer out, take out all of the pots and pans and get in it and play🙂
I learned alot! Thank you so much for this vid! By the way I love your wooden floors, the blue striped rug fits it beautifully!
Our previous stove it was used for the broiler, but we got our new stove hooked up today and it is just a storage drawer in that one.
Thanks in a million. Great content. Awesome. Very well explained. I couldn't find this explanation--simply put anywhere else. Great teachers are hard to find. Grade: A++💥
I just love Glover ❤️ And I remember the drawer being a warmer back in the days, and the newer models are mainly just used as storage. You are looking lovely today Happy Valentines To You and all the other viewers ❤️❤️
Thank you! Happy late Valentine’s! Sending all the ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Storage drawer. Sadly, it’s also where the mice in my house like to congregate 😣
Yikes! 🐁
Put peppermint or spearmint tea bags in the drawer; two should do the trick. Mice do not like the smell of mint
Mine is a warming drawer, but I use it to store pots and pans.
great info. thanks. I believe my drawer is a broiler. I rent and it was here when I moved in.
Your dog is the cutest! Love his name too
Yay! You're welcome! Clover says WOOF!
I use mine for storing sheet pans etc. I hide stuff there like cans of tuna or chicken from the big hungry Yeti in the house.
Thanks for the great video and information. I just got a new 24 inch compact gas range. I will have to check it out . And I have never used a broiler before either.🙏
Love the video I need to check to see what type of drawer it is (good question )
Wow 😯 I learned something new thanks
Thank you for getting to the point!!
its a plate warmer back in the day it was the done thing to warm your plates so the food would stay hotter once severed
Mine is a storage drawer! Just did all the googling to make sure. Lol thanks. I want to make a frittata that calls for broiling and I want to do it right!! Thank you!!
It’s so close to the floor that it grosses me out to want to put my food in there.
It is like INCHES above the floor LOL
I feel the same way 😬😩
It's the nastiest drawer in my house. Always food particles and dust. Gross. I decided today to never use mine ......ever again. Also mine never stays on the track correctly.
My oven is in the wall a good 3 feet off the ground. It sounds like you might live in one of those townhouse complexes where everybody shares the same driveway
@@GothPopTV what the fuck does living in a duplex have to do with having a regular ass stove? lol ppl say anything in UA-cam comments lol
i have oven from 15 years and today i am going to find about this down drawer.
I am going to check my oven drawer. Thank you.
Mine is warming drawer but I use it to store my baking pans.
Mine is a gas stove and I have a Broiler Drawer! I have not used it yet, but just purchased a broiler pan and rack. It’s crazy that it is so close to the floor like that!
Just storage, where I keep my pot lids. Pots and pans are hanging on a DIY rack I made years ago using a VERY sturdy(expensive) drapery rod.
When an oven is not in usage, the whole thing is storage.
Thank you 😊
I'm thinking mine might be a broiler and I'm hoping it is. I will try it out next time I make biscuits. This is a new house we're in and the stove in it is different, electronic, and I'm not used to those. It's a little fancy and I'm not used to everything. I mainly like broilers to brown things on top that don't get browned on top in the regular oven. Like biscuits. Gonna try it out. Probably a broiler because there is only two options, one is bake and the other says broil. So, I'm sure it's a broiler. Good! Because I hate not getting to get my biscuits browned on top.
whoa i had no idea, thanks. ours is just storage, but my mom's IS a warming drawer, and it heats up when the knob is set to WARM, NO WONDER the oven barely got luke warm when WARM was on, it was the BOTTOM that got 'warm' hot.
I've never seen that drawer that clean. That's the spot I check to know if mice are in the house, because they always find that drawer.
Mine is a warming drawer, as that's what the knob on the panel says. The knob is similar to the ones for the range, going from Lo to Hi with places in between, so I'm not sure what that means. I'll have to look up the manual!
Love your kitchen! Very nice! LOVE your oven too! And you're adorable. Haha. Nothing bad to say about this video at all. =) I have an old vintage stove (Tappan Deluxe) from the 1940s that has the drawer and it's a broiler drawer and the left and right side of the oven are storage compartments! I love it! It's a whopping 40" wide versus the standard 30 inch.
Some stoves have the lower drawer designed to warm or broil food; others do not.
I have never owned a stove that had a lower drawer that was used for anything other than storage.
Even then I always wash whatever is stored there before using; I know what critters lurk there, namely mice. ;-)
Thanks I'm going to start using my warming drawer now.
I have no interest in ever gossiping with "aunt flo" she's the visitor that I'm always happy to see leave. 🤣🤣🤣
Stephanie Marie LOL!!!!!!!! I didn’t even think about what I was saying! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bahahaha
@@TheOrganizedSoprano lol
@@TheOrganizedSoprano It made the video that much better. Had me laughing. =)
Mine just can't open, very hard to pull. Though I can peep into it. And that black narrow pan, I suspect to fit it the drawer as it doesn't fit anywhere else.
The steam is for baking bread.
I have double wall ovens that don't have a drawer underneath. The ovens new feature of a variable temperature Broiler element in the top of each oven
I thought the whole oven was just for extra storage Lol I Never would have guessed that could be a warming drawer!
What can we store? Do we have to take stuff out of that drawer when we use the oven?
I have been accused of using osmosis while in school because I would always fall asleep during class but was still able to max my exams. I was subsequently diagnosed as having a mild form of narcolepsy. I found I functioned better working nights which I did most of my adult life. The bottom drawer of my oven is a broiler.😉
I thought mine was just a grill pan storage, now I need to check
1:04 my mexican parents thought me to put the pans inside the oven
Same here @least my mom does it like so.
Storage for cookie sheets and wire racks.
I use mine alot for baking, but made some muffins and they over cooked on the bottom. I wasn't using any rack at all. I since learned I'm supposed to bake with a rack. There so so little online about baking in it. The rack that came with it seems so low to the bottom, I'm not sure it will help! Overall, I like to use this drawer so I don't have to heat the big oven and also so I don't have to keep a toaster oven on the counter. Just wish I could learn more about baking in it!
Kitchenaid KSGB900ESSO my cost 2-4k new or old stock clearance.. 6cu ft of cook space in that roasting drawer, and used as a drawer!!? lol.. I got the gas version and am curious if this feature is electric. I store my non-enamaled cast iron cookwear there LIGHTLY coated in grapeseed oil.
Aunt Flo?! Nooo don't come to my party! Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I watched this back and totally didn’t even realized I picked Flo!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s a warming drawer but I keep extra sheet pans and loaf and cake pans in it.
You and me both...one day, I may actually use it to put warm food...one day LOL
Funny I only recently found out I've been ab-using oven drawers all my life to stuff pots and pans. Who knew?
MmabathoSisJ jesus loves you :)
@@Valarie.0 😂🙏
Poor clover, too cute to be in the shot
I have in my convection oven all modes
That is a BROILER perfect for steak and potatoes
Not for ALL machines! It depends on the make and model of your oven which you can check in the user manual or by scanning the QR code on newer models :) My new one is just Storage which is actually super helpful!
A storage drawer for pan lids...
Wasn't sure if my broiler was going to melt everything in the drawer under the oven. Now I can make a Le Croque Madame.
Thank you. I was wonder what that was. lolol
Kay, it’s storage. Goodness knows we all need as much as we can get, especially with those oddball kitchen utensils, trays and the like. The microwave has been relegated as the reheating element when we are juggling multiple dishes in that solo oven.
🤣🤣🤣
And proofing bread dough?
found out I have a broiler broiler under the oven
Don't know but using it to store baking pans.
Mine is a broiler! For now. We are waiting on the delivery of our new oven! But I’m not a fan of the broiler in that space. I’d rather have it fit storage.
With our gas stove it just doesn’t work well!
How do you keep your stainless cookware clean? Thanks
Persistence LOL
Now I know why my cookie sheets keep turning dark I was storing them in the bottom
Oops! LOL
Hmmm??? I truly don't know. I haven't used it for anything.
It stores all the lost cat toys loose change and fuzz balls lol
Why i need a warming drawer when i have a microwave oven and air fryer?
Which is why i have an oven that have a pizza department (which i use more than the main compartment.)
Just storage......hugs to Clover!
WOOF!
Just Figured Out (Thanks To You) I Have A Broiling Drawer
that’s such a nice oven omg i need it!!!! but it looks upwards up 2k 💀
I just subscribed mainly because.. She's gorgeous
🥰
😘
that dog is so cute! what kind of breed is it?
He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! Say that 3 times fast LOL
I use mine to warm things up like pizza & toasting
Why am I sitting next to my oven rn. Idk lady
Thanks for watching!
I have the same oven lol
Storage. I store baking pans in it.
Just storage.
👍
Now, you got me wondering about my drawer. Hmmmm?
Teresa White me too!!! Lol I need to check
Don't want to be fresh or anything, but what's in your drawers?
Clover, Clover, Clover, Clover.
It's a good idea in theory but I would never put my food that close to the floor. Like you said, there's so much dirt and debris that gets kicked up.
Warming
I know you have hit your leg on that handle
I actually don’t have a drawer cuz stove is has a double oven
I have a double oven so I don't have a bottom drawer.
Sounds awesome though! I’m jealous!
I wish I could absorb knowledge through osmosis
SAME
I like how every time you open the drawer it has something else in there 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I love your house. But you might hate me as a guest. Lol
Mine is a storage drawer.
I think ours is a broiler, but i have no idea what a broiler even is 😂 so idk
It’s like an oven but only WAAAAYYYY HOTTER and more direct heat from above as opposed to all around heat like the oven. Like, if you broil stuff for more than a few minutes it will be burnt up LOL
@@TheOrganizedSoprano oh ok,then whats it used for? Just heating things up?
SAMMIsLIFE it browns things super quickly and broiling is a technique used to cook some things quickly with super direct heat. Like, if you make a baked pasta but you want a browned cheesy top, you can pop it in the broiler for a minute. It also is a cooking technique but it’s super hot hot hot and I always take extra caution when I broil things. You can go from golden brown to burnt in 2 seconds lol
Lol, osmosis learning.
Ours is a broiling drawer
Storage! Yeah for me.
W00t!!!
He said no 🐶
Who knew?? Smh. Mine is a broiler. Has a pan. And i NEVER knew it was a broiler. Wow
Right?!? I was blown away when they said mine was also a slow cooker? What the...? 🤣
Girllll!!!! Shut up...lol, now I have to goggle my oven.
Could be a surprise!! 🤣🤣
Storage
And osmosis!!! Lol
it's to keep your food warm when you're cooking a bunch of it
Only sometimes 😉
