When this story first became popular a few months ago, I checked my owners manual and it said it is a storage drawer, not a warmer. I put a thermometer in it and used the oven. Only went up about 5 degrees compared to before using the oven. So don't assume your drawer will warm your food. Test it first.

The oven he is talking about is simply for storage, nothing more.
My last oven had a broiler under the oven. It wasn’t even a drawer, just a flip-down door! I absolutely HATED it! When searching for my current oven, I looked specifically for an in-oven broiler. The drawer underneath is simply a storage drawer, which is fine with me because it gives me extra storage for my tiny kitchen, but more importantly, I don’t have to get on the floor to use my broiler!!!

It all depends on the type of stove you are referring to.
Yes, some stoves come with drawers that are actually used for broiling or warming food; however, other stoves do not have that function and the drawers are designed for storage.
Check your stove's user manual.

This should remind people to read their owners manual (depending on the appliance - it can be a very thin pamphlet even) when they purchase an appliance as it would show a picture and tell us the name of that part and often a short description of what it does or a warning on what not to do with it.

It's for keeping ceramic plates and silverware warm and sterilized. A lot of old school Asian restaurants use it to keep face towels warm/hot for customers to cleanse their hands before eating.
Or you can just use a microwave...
TheUndercoverNinja microwaves are cool but it can't toast bread when you don't have a toaster/toaster oven for this purpose broilers are great.
