- Do you ever try to launch someone's kite and then the kite starts to push you? It isn't fun. Considering how easy it is to avoid, it really shouldn't happen! So I made a nice short video so we can get the good word out there! 🫡

Mindblowing on how some people who kite for over 10 years make this mistake. Happens all the time on the beach..
it's very common, sometimes because the launching space is small or restricted by other kites and boards sitting on the beach, also many times when starting a kite session the excitement is so hi we can't perceive the correct wind direction 😅, and finally wind can also turn of some degrees...
also for this reason kite launch is considered the most dangerous part of kiting...
This should be on looping autoplay on large screens at most beaches!

Kite pushes the starter is one thing, but also not enough power can get you in serious trouble. The big mistake is that people position themselfs with the bar fully pulled in. Slight drop of the wind and they can't react so the kite flies uncontrollable backwards. Especially when they didn't stand 100% the first time.

Hello Mike!
I'm now at the point where I can kite upwind fairly consistently. Only problem I face is that the water keeps catching on my ancles and sometimes slowing me down or splashing me in the face. This is worse in choppy water.
Do you have any tips to prevent this.? I ride a Lieuwe shotgun board
Hey Mike, any idea on how to improve the kite control when attempting backrolls? Even if I put my hands on the center of the bar, it would not stay still at 12...😢 and then I crash miserably.😅

@@danielbinisti1913commit to the backroll you will do a backroll kiteloop that will even be sicker ;)
I think that I try to rotate my shoulders more so that my back shoulder is closer to the bar and my front shoulder is farther. That way you kind of avoid steering. Anyway Mike probably has better advice!
@@erbesnard i did that backroll with the kite loop already... unintentionnally of course ! My board was surprisingly not there anymore to land the trick 🙃
@@danielbinisti1913a quick secret to succeed. Do it with only the back hand on the bar, where the power lines are between the index and middle finger. The kite will stay in a good position. When you're at 2/3 of the rotation place the front hand back on the bar and pull slightly to direct the kite towards the moving position. Once you get used to it start to do it again with 2 hands from the start... It's an easy trick and I don't know why none teaches it that way...

😂😂 in fairness to teachers, sometimes my teachers have been great and I haven't paid good attention 🙈
it-s always the instructors fault. A good instructor always realizes if his student is not paying attention and does not go on with the lesson till he does

the reason is because many people use to mount the lines from in front of the kite instead of behind the kite and the launch isn'st the safest as it should be, thanks for the video, big hug
