Mike ive asked this a few times already but always the question gets ignored or dogded. Why hasnt there been a a BAKL event in the Netherlands. The fanbase from Netherlands is huge, tons of sales for kites come from Netherlands or Germany. There are so many options here as well (zandmotor kijkduin/slufter/Islands up north). Why? Whats the reason we are left out all the time
Interesting, now I would love to see a comparison between the XR7s and the XR8s. This would temper my predilection to upgrade my quiver of XR7s. Cover a loopable and non loopable size... say an 8m and an 11m. Thanks Mike.
I was on an XR8 9m open ocean beach today I'm 188lbs. and the wind was only 16-18 knots. The low end was smooth and even though the wind was close to the 9m low wind limit it always stayed up, got going, climbed upwind with ease and much much lighter bar pressure than t XR7s. My session mates were all on 12s or 13m, albeit not Core brand. I was beyond impressed with the XR8. Once you try them you will see for yourself. Quiver now 7/8/11 in XR7 and the new XR8 9m. It is fast upwind and when you hit a kicker it sends. Just remember that at these lower wind speeds you cannot soar and expect a gentle catch. Gotta keep the kite moving and down loops are much easier on the arms. In fact my whole session outside of the jumping was one handed. I finally see what others mean when they look for lighter bar pressure. Cant wait to explore its top end.
I'm still riding my XR2 in 7m2 today. I even own the kite two times and lent the second one to a buddy when kiting in stronger winds. Actually had the bridles tangled around the tips after the kite inverted after a crash. In strong gusts it janks the bar like crazy however. But overall it's a great kite. Got the first XR2 for free and the second for 150 €.
Hi Mike, great video to see that you as a pro is confirming: also an older kite for lower money is great to enjoy the sport. To enjoy the sport ... this is what it is all about... Very honest and a great motivation for all new kitestudents. Greetings from Germany - Fehmarn... love your videos!
This is actually a clever ad for the new XR8. Well thought out - the comparison aspect allows to highlight the new kite features whilst also having an interest factor with the old kite so not an outright advert - smart stuff!
this is great, cause i am actually riding the xr2´s and latly was just at one spot where a guy gave me an xr8 and i rlly felt the difference, i just went for kiteloops with multiple rotations, which i was not able to with my xr2.
What is the story about launching new ones with new material soon? I looked up prices of kites with the new material they are 1.5 times more expensive.
I'm using the Sail Video System 🤩 you can get it at gethighwithmike.com/sail and I make a little bit of commission when you order through my link, which is very much appreciated 🤘
Great to see some honest and fair comparison. Any other would hype the XR8 for better (low end) performance, quicker turning, better depower etc. (like every brand shouts out for new gear) Meanwhile the average joe would have a hard time telling the difference between last years and the latest en greatest
great video. And I totally agree with you, my brand spanking new kite is better than my 10y old used kite. not sure what you wanted to say except finding a different way to introduce the new kite (good attempt)
And the XR8 is the worst of all, I hate it, it lost it's Big Air DNA! Its like a mix between Nexus and XR7, yes it's agile and it's beautiful, but it boost awful, nothing to do with a real XR (till XR7)! I´ll sell my once directly , hate them!
You can win 2 XR8's and a Sensor 3S Pro bar here: bigairkite.com/products/core-xr8-kite
You have to shop - to enter??? :) coom on! Your marketing needs to be as good as your riding skills, boss! Nonetheless - much love from Toronto.

Nice balanced comparison! and good point on the kites being used back in the day not being the best for jumping.
Doest the Core with a new Rx8 can allow rider to do double kiteloops now?

Why are you doing XR2 vs XR8, is it because there's not much difference between XXR7 and XR8?
Yo Mike! Where did the big air history video with Ruben go?
Im still riding my core xr6 9m, so happy

Which 360 cam mount are you using ?

True. Don't forget the old classic lines that the "12m would turn like a 9m" and the "9m would pull like a 12m" lol!
Good stuff Mike!
Sometimes i use my Core gt 13,5m 2010 with a 2026 bar and is a very good kite
Sorry 2016 bar
Nice on brother! Great video concept
I don‘t update. These kites are to expensive at the moment. I have to find a XR7 in sale because there is a new model out.
I was excactly searching for this

Great Video, Thank you
Shit, 2:55 I thought it was aluula 😂
Sad that the giveaway requires the purchase of one. Only accessible to people who have the $$$

you have to be joking bru
I would never buy a Core kite! They kinda remind me of someone who would purchase an Audi!
Nnyyeowwww!
This is an ad
