Yeah, the mic gets pretty close making it tough to pull focus shooting from the hip, but it's mostly there for scratch audio to sync with sound mixer. Also a solid option for misc foley to insert into videos. Mahalo!
Hey Anthony, thank you for the comment, but I actually haven't shot DSMC 1 Dragon 6k. I did however own the DSMC1 Scarlet X and Scarlet W, and Dragon X beats both of those hands down. I actually love a lot of the physical changes from DSMC1 to DSMC2. It's a much better system altogether, but I can imagine the image might be comparable to DSMC1 since it's the same sensor.
Thanks for the feedback Spencer. I had initially built this video as a quick tip for an IG series I was a part of, so it was more about the rig build. If you've got any specific questions about build or want to see a more detailed video about using Red, let me know and we'll get something together. Are you a Red shooter?
i sent back my dragon X 6k because this camera (not my camera only but ALL the Dragon X) has a problem: try to record in 6K FF 50fps with 50fps timeline,, you get the footage but you can't playback in camera, test yourself and let me know.
The RAD set up is the Cool set up !
Thanks so much! Are you a Red shooter too?
Thanks for sharing this set up! Always awesome to see how you are able tell high quality stories and not let equipment be a distraction to that goal.
Thanks brother. Technology that's both fun and functional is the best.
No fuss only facts. Excellent format. You got a subscriber
Mahalo John! Are you a Red shooter as well?
Great but the mic seems in the way of the focus puller, it's even touching it.

Dope run and gun setup!
Want to see your setup one of these days brother
Hey man, ever get the chance to compare to the old DSMC 1 Dragon 6K?

Great stuff Brad!
Appreciate it brother. Can't wait to get back out to So Cal and reconnect! Love all the stuff you've been making lately.

Was this filmed on Komodo?
Nope, filmed before Komodo arrived. But I think most of the videos in the YT queue will be Komodo'd :)
@@BradWatanabe help me out, i have money for the komodo, but should i spring for this instead? ever felt severely limited by the komodo?
Come on brad you added more weight and you side handle you can’t use with that lens
And that follow focus is to close to use
