I'm working on a "show car" trunk setup with a hatch and some challenging flooring pieces and this video was more helpful then all other 30+ flooring videos I've watched combined, Cody did an amazing job floor looks awesome! Thanks for the help guys.
Hi! I have an older Ocean SS40 1979 in San Diego. I work on it all the time, loved watching your videos, well done! I love Detroits! I Have the J&T 671's 410 HP. If you ever want to swap notes I love talking shop. Use Delo 100 in those motors 😉
Could you maybe do a breakdown on costs for a project sportfish like this? Initial purchase, slip fee, diesel, travelift fees, winter maintenance, general maintenance, etc?
Yeah I can definitely work on putting something like this together although there are so many factors on certain things such as all boats are different on initial cost and condition but I cha definitely break down slip fees and fuel and maintenance ect! Will be a while as we have a 4 part rod building series coming out
I would try to Duct tape the seams the best you can from underneath. Usually you duct tape the top over the cracks before laying the floor. Helps with fumes and noise.
Great advice! We wanted the seems for removing the floor for maintenance and can’t tape from the bottom based as how the floors sit on that “lip” of wood so they all lay flush
Hmm i guess there’s no way around it with wood floors. I have an 86 44’ and I’m interested in following your progress. Just got to the “end” of self refit journey. From experience it’s VERY smart keeping them accessible.
So glad I was able to give a hand in helping get this beauty even more beautiful!
Such a huge help!

love the process - I say you just put a mat over the hatch area to hide the little lip from tripping and being annoyed by it!
Thanks!

Also we have large engine room fans that help draw lots of air in there so there is not dangerous fumes in there

@IClementsI176 that was the main thing with this upgrade is having easy access for maintenance
Duuude! So sick
Hell yeah
I’m so jealous this is my dream
You can do it!
@@SaltyBoysFishing I just had a daughter so I’m set back a bit 🤣 don’t think I’ll get a loan for older boat like that
@Icebreaxer you have to believe! It’s a great family boat that will help sell it to the significant other 😂
@@SaltyBoysFishing amen brother
Dog on sofa watching humans laying flooring!
Hey she’s part of the family 😂
Even if the boat was free, the upkeep and running costs are so very expensive.
You got that right! The slip, insurance, maintenance, fuel
