Right now I'm struggling with unemployment, a disfunctional family, and no friends to hang out... All my live I thought that everything should be sacrificed in order to achieve higher success, and missed the point of good relationships, having fun sometimes, and share my skills with others. This video is a better way to understand habits and life, the world and oneself, thank you for sharing this, I can see now.
Have you tried being a food courier? I won't talk like an advertisement about it. I've only done 3 days, it's working for me, so I guess I'm still excited about it. I don't know how much unemployment pays out. Maybe it gives you more than I project to make. It's worth looking into, if you haven't already. I'm doing Uber Eats deliveries. Ymmv, there are other companies that do this. It was a relief to find work I could just...start doing and not have to fill out applications, interview, get rejection emails or just plain be ignored. I just want to work, you know?
"Pay attention to your thoughts, because they become your words. Pay attention to your words, because they become actions. Pay attention to your actions, because they become habits. Pay attention to your habits, because they become your character. Pay attention to your character, because it is your fate."
I think the so-called "old model" is focused more on things we can control, which are the only things we should focus on. And it's way simpler. But what an idea and explanation. He really think of the whole complete aspects. Cheers!
True, but it overgeneralizes by assuming all of us start off in the same environment. This model is more well-rounded and accurate, imo, as it takes into account other things that matter, such as relationships and opportunities available. It pushes you to build more skills than just setting cues for yourself, as it requires you to work on your relationships with others as well as continually seeking new knowledge, both of which grow you into a better person in ways the old model might not.
You have reached next level by not just summarizing your understanding of other's ideas, but creating your own ideas and concepts that attempt to go beyond what others have proposed. Having an original thought and crystallizing it by writing gives me one of the biggest mental boost.
The most fundamental step is to identify and embrace a purpose that will drive you to achieve. Motivation will only get you so far and inevitably fail. Lack of purpose is probably one of the most common reasons for the relinquishment of habits.
I just want to appreciate the quality of this video ❤️ even though there are only a few videos per month, it’s always full of wisdom and new ideas 💡 I learn a lot through this channel~ thank you so much 🥰
Yes ,it is said that what what goes around comes around . In a book called the law of one , it is mentioned that everything is inter-connected or " All is one and one is all. "
Your observation that the current model (aka the Clear model) is solipsistic is 100% correct. It reflects Ayn Rand/American individualism. Context is everything. We...each of us...are instantiations of our context. The lever for personal change is changing our context, aka our forest. Everyone who stays at a health farm for a week engages in healthy behaviours; every one of them, on returning home, returns to their previous behaviours. Thank you for this excellent critique, and the deeply thoughtful new model.
Thanks for the summary and the reflection question at the end. This makes me want to apply this right away to my life. For me the recap lowers the threshold and through that there is less effort to get this ball rolling.
A habit is simply an action that's easier to do than to not do. When you can make an action that you deem necessary easier to do, it'll become a habit.
I like how you made the habit model incredibly easy to understand! Your use of a good habit and a bad one helps a lot. Good animation by the way. Your presentation is very engaging!
That's probably the biggest takeaway from this video for me, it was a good way to visualize the habit loop. Whatever that "newer" model is was too abstract and hard to control, but A+ for creative effort.
This just blew my mind away 🌟🌟...This seems to be the answer why things don't work out for me in terms of habits... After all that you have said, I need to become more outgoing take actions on them... Love the way your videos bring formulas and stories to take real life actions. Ur tree is giving good fruits to people like me to try thriving
That was such an eye opener. I am someone who is surroud by a lot of people that I can count on but as I’m also introverted I just prefer to do things alone and until this video I used to think that I can evolve just by myself. I have everything you said is important to bloom I just need to exploit it. Thank you for this video.
Your growth mindset video changed my life and the "how to be miserable" pulled me out to the path of recovery from a deep crest of depression in my life. thanks
I see lot of effort goes into making these. Very detailed and informative. I don’t know how you manage to pack in so much information in such a short time. Skill
I really appreciate the forest metaphor. It wakes us up for the importance of giving, not only taking. I would like to make an observation, however. Unlike the tree and any animal, human beeings can overcome their enviroment. That's been done for various people. That's what allowed us to grow that far. I think it's importante to wake for the fact we should work to help each other as much for that we can overcome the enviroment. Changing it, or changing us. Btw, this is not a critic. Just an observation. Your video teachs us generosity and harmony. That's the way, my friend.
I have a youtube habit... So far this video is definitely your best. I walk to the store for ice cream because walking is all-round good and ice cream is a satisfying reward. Cheers!
Wow. That was beautiful. I shall start with a small bit of fruit; I will share this video as a fertilizer to enhance the soil quality for the people in my life.
In my case, I am currently aiming towards a Noble Purpose like what Jordan Peterson talks about (ie. Become Rich and Get Good Grades so I can get Married) and it’s helping me get rid of bad habits.
A wonderfully, well considered, and wise philosophical video, tremendously full of loving guidance!!!! Spectacular!!!! Thank you so very much!!! And the video graphics are point on; allowing good focus and being helpful through vision. 3X thumbs up!!! 👍🏽 👍🏽👍🏽 Good job!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I definitely need to start implementing some of these. I've also been thinning about this from a personal finance perspective and made a video about bad spending habits - with the main goal being to think about your future self. But i think all these themes are interrelated.
Break it down for me for getting myself to go to stop doing things and go to bed. I feel tired, I know how bad I'll feel in the morning, and if I just laid down I would be asleep quickly and it even feels good. But I keep doing it. The cue to keep going can be anything at all. Not sure how to make staying up harder than laying down. I know many benefits to sleeping, and I know the negative stuff that happens when I keep NOT going to bed. I've had this habit for a good 30 years. The only improvement I've noticed lately is my awareness of the tired feeling and acknowledgement that I should go to bed (sounds silly, but I used to bull past that little fact...). I'll feel so much better about myself when I fix this and it will also support me in fixing other habits that effect my husband (AND these are habits I need to fix for myself, not just him), so he'll be happy about that - and proud of me for fixing this old sleep habit. Can I get a nudge about how to apply this video to this problem?
Between optimizing the current root path and discover a new one, I think that the tree all his life needs to discover new root paths because when a powerful storm comes, that tree will grow much stronger and have a higher chance to survive it.
Too much beating around the bush for my personal liking. The video is about breaking and building habits, which is something very physical and practical. You can go a bit deeper to explain some underlying psychological workings of habits and then physical and practical ways to regulate them, like the video says. But talking about trees and forests for a third of the video to explain something isn't personally my cup of tea. I know some people might appreciate the anologies, but I didn't. I am not hating, it's just my personal input, and some feedback for the channel. Have a good day, I gave the video a like because you did end up saying how to do it, so the video did provide what was promised in the title, it just took a great deal of pacience and I came very close to closing the video a few times, not gonna lie haha
I like every content you make, but the title of this one is misleading. but great content though, I'm glad I was misled. The main point was the tree and forest, the inter relationships of the elements within it and even the impact you receive within it and vice versa. Its like how can we relate habit towards this whole lot of elements rather than how building the habit per se. General /Specific Principles maybe. The idea about how you put value over a habit is agreeable. Please do more contents. Its very helpful.
Changing your Environment, especially the aspects of it that you can control easily, is essential for success. Although I feel all the content in this video could've been presented in a more concise way, it was still a nice metaphor. :)
The best trees are the ones that have big root systems connected to other trees to help them and the forest (humble social people), and not the big trees that only care about growing high and as a consequence shadow there neighbours (selfisch greedy people).
Still solipsistic, the issue is that growth as a goal (AKA self-development) is solipsistic. Not every tree is meant to mature into a palm tree. Some trees are much shorter but give bigger, tastier and larger amounts of fruits for instance the mango tree. If a mango tree were to develop like a palm tree it would be ill.
Right now I'm struggling with unemployment, a disfunctional family, and no friends to hang out... All my live I thought that everything should be sacrificed in order to achieve higher success, and missed the point of good relationships, having fun sometimes, and share my skills with others.

Hi. I'm in your current situation right now. How has your life been since you've posted this comment?
"Pay attention to your thoughts, because they become your words.
Pay attention to your words, because they become actions.
Pay attention to your actions, because they become habits.
Pay attention to your habits, because they become your character.
Pay attention to your character, because it is your fate."
It is really inspiring!
true!
i see the usage of the first principle
2nd statement is completely wrong
So it is practically enough to pay attention to thoughts
Sir, making this long and detailed video ..just so that people can improve themselves .
You have my respect.
Keep making such wonderful video✔
I think the so-called "old model" is focused more on things we can control, which are the only things we should focus on. And it's way simpler. But what an idea and explanation. He really think of the whole complete aspects. Cheers!

True, the only change we can make is with us, however it presumes we are devoid of an ecosystem we need to interact with, which is very odd.
You have reached next level by not just summarizing your understanding of other's ideas, but creating your own ideas and concepts that attempt to go beyond what others have proposed.

I've been watching this channel for years now, and I can confidently say the videos get better with every new upload.
There aren't many things in the world that beat good habits as a means for achieving personal success!
Yes ,it is said that what what goes around comes around .
In a book called the law of one , it is mentioned that everything is inter-connected or " All is one and one is all. "
You made this relatable in such a natural way. Thank you.

I'm currently struggling to change my sleeping schedule because of quarantine life...then this video uploaded. Thank you again!💚

Congrats in developing this method. Thank you...
Your videos are as insightful as ever, really love these ideas you provide
Thank you very much. Recently I've been trying to focus on changing my bad habits and creating new good habits. I'm glad I found this video.
Thanks for the summary and the reflection question at the end.

Best timing ever!
Time to move and do some stuff!
Love the minimalist yet colourful designing & animations. Makes me want to start a habit rn

This is incredible. Learned so much from this video. Thanks so much for making it
I see lot of effort goes into making these. Very detailed and informative. I don’t know how you manage to pack in so much information in such a short time. Skill
This came at the perfect time. Been struggling financially and spiritually lately, but this helped put things in perspective for me. Thank you 🙏
this is underrated so I'm gonna comment so that the algorithm recommends it to more people.
It can always better but this guide is already good enough for me and I believe for many

Wow. That was beautiful. I shall start with a small bit of fruit; I will share this video as a fertilizer to enhance the soil quality for the people in my life.
I like your animation style, it really dialogues with the message you transmit through your work.
Which software you use to make videos.
Although this is the topic I was searching for many days. Keep it up.👍
Adobe illustrator & after effects
@@FreedominThought ok thanks for giving me your time to answer the question
Great job.. The analogy is amazing.. When we add how we can contribute to others then our purpose expands
Thank you for sharing amazing work 🙏🏻 keep up doing more
Habits shape behaviors, behaviors shape life outcomes. The first step to success is having the right habits.
Probably the best video on the topic. ❤️
My favorite self help in all your great videos because it is whole
I am so fortunate that I prefer UA-cam over web series. 😍👏 And thank you for presenting such a cool new model
It is very valuable. I am very grateful for your channel. I will always support you.

This is like the philosophy of habits... so useful
Great explanation of the model, nicely presented and useful. Keep up the good work!👍
I just wanted to know how to get rid of bad habits..ended up watching this
In my case, I am currently aiming towards a Noble Purpose like what Jordan Peterson talks about (ie. Become Rich and Get Good Grades so I can get Married) and it’s helping me get rid of bad habits.
You are in the right path, keep going on! You will surely find clues of what you are looking for.

Nice work Sir. Can you share how long a 1/2 hour video takes for you to make?
nice! this is exactly what i needed
Between optimizing the current root path and discover a new one, I think that the tree all his life needs to discover new root paths because when a powerful storm comes, that tree will grow much stronger and have a higher chance to survive it.
Nice video!
HOWEVER...i think i prefer the first model for it's effectiveness on how to create HABITS and YOUR model for a way of going about LIFE.

bro thank you I thought I was the only one.
Bruh soo underrated
Thank You for your grate explanation.
John can always put the broccoli in the hummus too and add more points to the broccoli.... :)
I totally undervalued the importance if relationships and it makes sense now. How could I give fruits if I don't feel at ease with others?
Everything is inter-connected to everything and the law of one book has a saying similar or equivalent to " All is one and one is all. "
Thank you for this.

Wow amazing bleed my mind and I think your right
