This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).
I could not see the valves that the tech was rotating. The recorder needs to move closer so I can see the valves being turned.

the pressure release valve do you keep it open or close it after releasing the pressure? 1st time dealing with a water heater and waiting for the pros to get here I just want to do things to help until help arrives 🙃
With this sudden freeze here in Oklahoma, my water heater leaked, so I called the Fire Department; they shut off the valve. I have a home warranty, so I called to get a plumbing company to come out. In the meantime is it safe to use the kitchen and bathroom sinks? What about flushing the toilet?

Yep. I have a leak. Called it in to home warranty. The recording said to shut off hot water valve. I took a look at your channel to be sure what to do. I get confused about recirculating and stuff like that. At any rate it seems to have worked. I have no hot water inside. Thx.

I’d realy cair all this what my question is why turn off the water meter if you turned of then supple water going to your heater is it because it will explode the pipe the stops the water going in to the heater or is the water meter there for you counting of water of dills stuff idk what a water meter is for help me

The water heater will only shut off half of the water to the tub. If you do not have a main shutoff or a water softener shutoff, it’s a good idea to contact the maintenance or management to have the water completely shutoff to your individual unit.
I have the same problem. Leaky bathroom faucet, live in an apartment, no maintenance guy (he quit) and no manager (got fired), can't access the main water shut off because it's locked and will cut off water to multiple units.
when I shut off the cold line water on the heater tank, how come the hot line the cold water still coming to the heater tank, every time take a shower and stop hot water about 20 sec take the bath, then turn hot water will delate not continue coming with cold water for 15 sec then warn water cone then hot coming?

I discovered the hot water pipe had a leak so i shut the water off. When i came inside, i turned the cold water on and its still going . Its been a week and its still going. Ive done a couple of loads of dishes and filled 6 one gallon water jugs and its still going strong. I ended up shutting the water off to the whole house. Is there another way to turn it off?

The pipes inside my house is making a humming noise. When I flush the toilet, the humming noise goes away for about 30 seconds. Noise comes back again. So, I shut off the water valve from the toilet to stop the humming noise. Do you guys have a video that shows step by step to fix this humming problem? Thank you. This would mean so much to me.
Did you fix the issue? Steve Lavimoniere has a video addressing that exact issue, and what it was is the customer was hearing this humming coming from somewhere but couldn't pinpoint where, so when they called Steve he narrowed it down to the upstairs toilet where the flapper drain stopper in the tank was warped and not sealing the tank causing it to drain slowly which also caused it to have to fill slowly which was causing the effect of the humming in the pipes. He replaced the flapper so it would seal and fixed the problem. Wow! a $2.00 part to fix an issue the homeowner had for over 5 months....

I turned off the gate valve and opened the pressure relief valve but every time I use cold tap water anywhere in the cabin some gets into the water heater and proceeds to leak out…so I can never completely drain it or keep it drained. Why?

Hello, it could be sediment blown through the plumbing system as a result of shutting the water off and turning it back on. The plumber who did the installation probably did not clear all the faucets, tubs and showers of air and sediment after the installation. If there was sediment in the line, it would cause the loss of pressure at the shower. A good way to know is if the pressure is low on the hot and cold side.

No, but if you shut the water off make sure you shut off the gas to the water heater to prevent continuous heating of the water heater and thermal expansion.

Can't shut off the cold water going to the hot water tank because the plumbers installed a defective gate valve that can't shut off anything.

You missed the two most important things that should have been covered:
1. Your back was blocking the actual part of the video where you are turning the valve
2. You don't say which direction to turn to the valve. Clockwise?

This is a video about shutting off a water heater. If video camrea angle is your concern, this is the wrong video for you.
I agree, don't know why, but it drives me crazy when someone shoots a video with the phone in portrait position. If I were going to do a video to post on a site where possibly thousands are going to view it, I would shoot it the best way possible. Especially when it is such a simple procedure.. just my unprofessional opinion and probably why I don't do You Tube videos.. But he's right, don't like it, don't watch it..
@@rodhicks1968 The camera has to be close enough to see anything. Somebody needs to get on a ladder with the camera, so it shows how to do it.
