I love this tutorial, I just bought my first corset this past weekend in Rotterdam and I love it, thanks for showing how to tighten it myself love it, love wearing it, love the feel
Karen van Coppenolle I know right, the 'corset hug' is a really nice feeling, and a well fitting corset is really not as uncomfortable like most people think.
@@RainbowCurveCostuming ... I live in the USA and have been selling steel-boned corsets for several years. I, too, enjoy the Corset Hug. When vending I often wear corsets for over 12 hours each day. When I remove my corset my back feels very relaxed and rested. Once cooler weather returns I will again wear corsets, for me is difficult to be corseted when high temps are mid 90s to 100 degrees. I must say I enjoyed your explanation re how to properly don and remove a corset with no assistance. I will refer clients to your presentation, it is very thorough and informative.
She doesn't waist train. This is her body on occasional wearing. We are both lucky in the sense that our bodies are naturally hour glass shaped corsets just emphasise it.
Thank you! I just thought the lace was decorative.... I've just been zipping mine up and came looking for a guide video because I feel the fit is just off - so glad to see I can adjust the lace up haaaaa
I had to wear an orthopedic corset for over a year when I was young, due to a horse riding injury. I wear them now because I dress in a "vintage" style and for some reason, I like the feeling too...I suffer from bad anxiety due to having an AS Disorder and feel less anxious when I have one on. I will ask my therapist why, but it definately gives me a feeling of security.
meipip its diffrent for each corset and depending on the silhouette number the higher it is the more curves and the more extreme itll be. My waist is about a 28 and my first corset was a 20 inch and i got an 18 inch one at the same time and they both fit very nicely. It also depends on how soft you are.. orchard corset refers to this as firm or squishy and I'm very squishy im not over weight my stomach is flat and my torso is classed as petite as its only about 7 inches so I cannot wear certain corsets .. it all depends but I recommend looking up more videos and learning more the more you know the safer you can be .. I'm 19 by the way and i stopped growing at around 13 massive growth spurt
Thanks for the video and great info. Proud that you're honing your craft. You make it look easy to fasten the front--that's where I have the biggest problems! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Chardai Everett Not as yet but I'll definitely announce it here when I do launch my brand proper and start taking commissions. I will be working under the name Rainbow Curve Corsetry.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I was searching for this information, specially for where to buy one quality corset, and all I found was "Amazon corsets" that obviously look very cheap and useless lol Thank you so much ❤️
I thought you were going to address the different styles of corsets and what each of them did and which body types and shapes would benefit from which ones...at least that's what I was originally looking for and hoping that this video was. So, if you have the time in the very near future, I would like to request that you do a video like that. I'm not sure if you take requests or anything like that, but it would be much appreciated. Thanks for caring enough to actually take time out to read my comment. God bless and remember to laugh!
I'm looking into corsets as a supported garment replacement for bras because my bust size is freaking ridiculous. I'm overweight but what I've seen is that it's fine if you have a properly fitted corset. I'm thinking of using plastic boning because I'm not necessarily interested in waist training at all.
Thank you for this video! My issue is finding how to adjust my stomach in a corset before tightening it. Firsday I wore it for 4 hrs. Second day, 35 mins. When i take it off, my stomach still tighens like im still wearing it lol
My wife and I love corsets and she has 4 I think. Thanks for sharing: Lot of skinny kids on UA-cam, my wife is similar to you I would say. Thanks again
I have a few questions: 1. Would I have to take it off to use the bathroom? 2. Do they fit male bodies or would a male have to get s different style? 3. Are they hard to breathe in?
From what i've seen: Corset don't really touch your area where you have to pee but some corsets are longer so it might be uncomfortable. Men used to wear corsets back then, but now it's mostly for women, so maybe you need a certain site/corset made for you. Apparently, your corset changes where you breathe, and you will "breath" slightly less than normal.
I can say as a beginner to wearing corsets the very first time is hard to breathe if you have a problem with claustrophobia. But after you get use to it it's easy to forget it's there. And there are different shapes so a man can definitely wear one if they want :)
Im waist training and I want to shrink my waist three inches BUT I also want to gain about twenty pounds. In THEORY what I want to do is distribute my weight as I gain it to places OTHER THAN my midsection. Is this a realistically obtainable goal? Like I'm hoping to fung shuei the weight I gain to either my butt and hips or my boobs or both. I also do mild fitness training.
If your body hurts when wearing a corset something is wrong; stop wearing and see if it gets better and stops if it does, its the corset, if not you have another problem.
💗, thankyou❣ now i would most certainly like a vid of how u tackle making one. What fabric, measurements, pros/cons of machine vrs handstitching, how to fix problmatic areas. Im especially interested in measurments. I just want to watch how to make it comfortable. Yep, imma big girl with a big chest, lol. And i hate the back bulge. Suscribing.
I would recommend it. It will be more comfortable and more hygienic. Because they're steelboned it is better to only steamclean them. If you wear a liner it protects the garment from sweat
I like the idea, but maybe less of a shoulder raise and more normal breathing would be a beneficial compromise if the waist reduction was less extreme. Excellent info and adorable accent .
It depends on your body shape. If you have a long torso, where your underbust area is already on your set ribs, then it is unlikely because your set ribs cannot move.. only your floating ribs. I wouldn't recommend it but if you do it. Take it slowly and take your time.
what waist trainer do you recommend with these measurements ? under bust - 41 inches Small waist - 40 inches belly button area - 42 inches hips- 45 inches torso - 15 1/2 inches ? I have a vary narrow body as I'm square but want to have that perfect hour glass figure
(I always need a secondary person to lace me up now hopefully I can maneuver the laces!) i have multiple videos I've done but i'm too chicken to post any! haha looking forward to seeing more!
I think this one is the restyle wide hip corset 24" an early version where the sizes were slightly off and 24" was more a 26". so if you'd order now it would be a 26"
I wore a corset when I was 15 (a cheap one) and was confused why the spine on 1 side was deformed after I wore it. Then on my 16th birthday I found out I have Scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and understood why the corset was deformed 😂 they made me wear a back brace which was much worse and more painful than the corset. You’ll be fine, as long as you don’t try and do anything too crazy. Most women’s spines stop growing at 16/17
if it hurts in ribs it make ur waist permently smaller, I got it, it hurted a lot sometime coudlnt sleep, but fuck it it worts it, my rib shape now is so ultimate well and I keep make it smaller ;)
+Sumoners If it hurts, you're doing it wrong. Corseting properly should never hurt. You need to go slow and listen to your body. And it will never be permanent, when you stop wearing the corset altogether your ribs will eventually go back to their original shape.
My natural waist is 58cm (59 if i eat more) so ig 22-23 inches and i also have a big ass and thick thighs (im half brazilian) and i used to love my body but i've grown so insecure abt it i now want my waist to be even smaller. Let's see how much it takes :)
In most corsets you can sit down, however there are long line styles that make it vering difficult. it shouldn't hurt but it does force you to sit up rather straight.
Woah! You are absolutely gorgeous! You have the most beautiful face and smile! >w< Also our hair is done so brilliantly! The accessory in your hair just makes it all the better! Awesome video, it was really informative, thank you

David Pearson I can confirm I am still able to answer this question a week after I made this video and I have not passed away from lack of oxygen. No joking asside, if you have a corset that is large enough in the ribcage, breathing in it, is not an issue. Women are extremely squishable in the waist but the longues are higher up in the chest. I will say that you may shift your breathing a little from the lower belly to the upper chest, but I can definitely still breath fine, rest assured ;).
