    Thank you so much! I have NEVER tied a corset before and my daughter's junior prom is in a few weeks and we ordered a corset for the extra emphasis on her waist. I was soooo scared that I couldn't get it. Your video was perfect. I'm a happy mom in tears with a super happy daughter that is feeling herself for the first time in her life. I seriously can't thank you enough. Your pace was perfect and you're instructions very clear. ❤️❤️❤️

    Thank you, I will keep the tucking in in mind for when I finish seasoning mine. I just took it off after the first 2 hours. I will be wearing it over a thin cotton cami top for around a week or so, around the house and have ordered another couple thin tshirt thingies for under corset wear. Your videos are super helpful and your one about lacing a corset (it was you in that one too) was a lifesaver as I didnt have a clue about lacing before seeing that. I have worn a corset/brace in the past for medical purposes but it was heavy duty steel struts about half inch wide and didnt have really long laces as tightening wasnt the purpose beyond holding my back in the position the steel had been bent into. This was much comfier!

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  3 роки тому +3

      Hey that's a great question! One that we should do an updated video on. You do need to loosen the back laces enough to unclasp the pins in the front without putting any pressure on them. You likely won't need to open it terribly far, but you should loosen it enough so that it's not difficult to unclasp in the front. If you don't loosen the corset in the back before unhooking the front, you can break those pins off :(

  • @sirensong2011

    Isn't wrapping the laces around to the front bad for the corset overall? I've heard that tying them in the front is not only damaging to the fabric, but also distorts the bones along the waist, potentially leading to pinching. And if you don't tie them at all as shown the first time you brought them to the front, how do you maintain tension if you are using your corset for waist training? I've found that the friction on the laces from the grommets being pressed firmly to your body maintains tension about as long as it takes for me to shift.

    • @Foxiepawstotti
      @Foxiepawstotti 2 роки тому +10

      she said that, and, in a much less long winded way than you did! Also all the tying and tightening is done in the back, and it is securely tied off...are you sure you were watching THIS video?

  • @gwenhyfarbeati
    @gwenhyfarbeati 2 роки тому +1

    i've seen someone use a doorknob to keep a bit of tension on the loops while they adjusted the X's, which i thought was really clever. also i think that the loops should be in line with the waist tape, no? i can't recall why, as it's been about a decade since i've looked into corsetry.

  • @bambibam

    i was very happy with the two corsets I got but after lacing it for the first time (I'm still seasoning it) I've had gromet after gromet try to pop off. 3 of them have already come off. I can probably just take a hammer to it and get them back together but is this a fault of me, is that normal, or should I send it back to be fixed?

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  3 роки тому +1

      Popped pins usually happen when a corset is taken off or put on when the laces are still too tight in the back. The corset needs to be open rather wide so that you don't put pressure on those front pins and cause them to pop off. We don't offer repairs at our warehouse, but do send over a photo and your order details to our team to see how we can help. Info@orchardcorset.com

    Hi, I wanted to ask a question. Whenever I've bought a corset in a shop and they've helped me tie it on, it's always felt tight but amazing. But then when myself or my partner does it, it feels like it's crushing my ribs. What are we doing differently to the professionals?

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  3 роки тому +9

      Hi Cerys, it could be a few things! When we lace folks in we always try to lace up evenly from top to bottom and only pulling the waist as needed. Whereas we often see folks who aren't accustomed to lacing up pull only on the bunny ears (those loops in the middle) and pull on them quite tightly! That puts all the pressure right at your ribs instead of distributing it evenly. The corset might also be sitting in a funny spot, when you're laced up by a pro they are likely lining up the waist tape of the corset with your natural waistline which will make the corset most comfortable. If you're not settling that waist tape into your natural waistline when you're lacing up at home that could be the culprit too. A trick we like to use for the most comfy fit is to lace up a little less than snug and wear your corset for a bit, maybe just 20 minutes or so, then lace up all the way. Your midsection will have had time to adjust to being corseted and will likely give you a more dramatic cinch that is more comfortable! Let us know if you need more help, we're always happy to chat and answer questions.

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  Рік тому +1

      Yes! If your underbust is wider than your upper hip, then many of our styles will fit you more comfortably upside down. But as a general rule, to tell if your corset is right side up, our front busks have the pins on the left and the hooks on the right. In recent years we've added garter tabs on all of them, and those are located on the bottom.

    How do you tie it like that & stealth? The ties are so bulky in the back. (I know I can get better laces like the silk ones) Plus I never feel like the laces stay tight when it’s tied in the back. Admittedly I’ve tied it in the front, but not the way she said I twisted the laces as if your starting to tie something before the bunny ears then wrapped & tied in the front. It seems so much more stable & tight? I haven’t been doing it since I was told not to, but idk. I really don’t want to mess up my corset, but it doesn’t ever seem like it stays tight when I tied it the other ways she showed. I have the one shown in this video the CS 426. Heeeelpp. Lol is there any other ways? Or advice I can get to keep the laces tight?

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  2 роки тому

      Hi Brittany! Have you watched our stealthing video before? It's got loads of tips for hiding your corset under you clothing. Getting a good knot in the back can take some practice. When you go to place the knot, we suggest giving an extra tug right before you do so and tying immediately without letting out any slack. Sometimes swapping out the laces you have in your corset for a different type can help too. Once the satin laces have been used a few times they end up holding knots really well and bonus! - the satin laces hide better under clothing than the traditional nylon set. Here's that stealthing video, be sure to come back with any other questions or hop on our live chat and speak with our team: ua-cam.com/video/N5NH7VtrzX0/v-deo.html

    Seems like ideally, someone else should help you lace up the corset?

    This was a nice tutorial, but I wish the laces weren't also white.

      We're sure we'll need to redo this video at some point and we'll make sure to use contrasting laces when we do!

    Facing the camera means we CAN:T see what you are doing. You facinging in the mirror means YOU can't see what you are doing.

    I wish your corsets didn't come pre-laced but with the rope , so we could lace it ourselves. Not every waistline is going to be the same height. Someone's waistline (where the bunny ears are) are lower and someone's waistlines are higher. Therefore everyone should lace their own corsets themselves. As no bodies and waists are alike. That's what I was a little disappointed by when I got my corset from you guys. Having the corset come already pre-laced feels a little "cheap" when you should know waistlines can be in different height.

      Hi, thank you for the feedback! We want folks to be able to use their corset right away. So many of our customers are first time corseters and the hurdle of lacing their own corset up before cinching in could be awfully intimidating. We have videos that show how to relace your corset if you'd like to see how to lace up and move the bunny ears. Thanks for being a customer!
