- Some odd things have happened to yours truly down the years. Such as 140 year old cats running about our flat, to melt away like mist when they're seen, WW2 Airmen at a former Airbase...to mention just two !
Just checked in after seeing an old comment on one of our old videos. Can't believe he's no longer with us. Hope his lady friend is doing OK... Damn...
A very much loved and unique gentleman, am always in awe at his talent for repairing electrical goods and his funny poignant thoughts on life, will miss him dearly and my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
I had no idea that River had passed. A great shame indeed, I enjoyed his videos for many years. I hope he’s in a better place. RIP, old friend.
Rest in peace River.your videos live on as a legacy to us all.god bless.
RIP River, A Victorian gent in the 21st Century
Almost a year later and I've just found out about River. When people say they're ill it's easy to think they'll be OK, but of course that's not always the case. I'll always remember coming home from school 10 years ago and watching whatever video River (AG3304 back then!) had recorded just before lunch, commenting and always getting a nice reply.
Always saving quality vintage stuff from the rubbish, and making repairs with whatever he had ...and doing it all while dressed as a Victorian! What a gentlemen. He even died gracefully in his sleep. May he rest in peace.

I was only thinking of River the other day :( I enjoyed watching his videos and learnt a lot too. sorry for your loss
I wish you happiness in the next reality River. You had many friends in this one, many of whom you didn't know you had. Because we simply didn't have anything remotely interesting to say to you. So we just listened :)

Ironically your probably part of the celestial history of your house now and no doubt still there and if people are there will sense your spirit in there too

my friend I hope everything finds you well if not to your family my respect will you will be missed it's been 3 years since you ran anything available I don't know if you were still with us hope you are and doing well if you are not you will be missed no matter where you are just keep fixing them you did a very good job.

I followed his channels for years. He will be realy missed as he was a real individual with his outlook and sense or humour, not to mention his electronics skills. My mun said he had a real broadcasting voice.
Susanna I'm so sorry to hear this (his partner) She was supposed to be closing down the channel a few weeks after he died but it's great it's still live - for now anyway
Sad to find River passed away after seeing a comment on another video. His passion for making old things work again. The stories like the ones told here A man I never met but came to know.

At least river didn't have to put up with this coronavirus crisis. Wonder what he would have made of it.

I've been wondering how River has been doing since this video was made, and was fearing the worst. I got to say I am feeling very emotional right now, and yet I only know of River via his channel here but he made a big impression on me. The date of this video happens to be my mum's birthday, and she also died last year. Also out of the blue one of the last records River played, happened to be one of my mum's favourite artists Victor Silvester. ua-cam.com/video/Vspa9qK92_E/v-deo.html So a lot of things making me teary right now, and I sure will miss River's lovely warm and characterful voice, along with his passion for all things HiFi. Thank you River, and I hope you are playing some fine tunes for my mum in heaven, that she can ballroom dance to with joy.

Something weird for Halloween? Every year, around this time, I have dreams about River Phoenix. This being the 25th anniversary of his death, last night I felt like he was right there, in my head, thanking me for remembering him & being a longtime fan. Strange thing? I've never met him. Always wanted to, but never got the chance.
