Refreshing to hear absolute honesty when it comes to these kind of stereos, including the modern cheap rubbish which are hilarious unless you buy one.

Isopropropyl alcohol dabbed onto hot glue on circuit boards and wires softens it and lets you remove it really easily.

Thanks for the tip :-), but on looking at it it was a better machine with AC bias of all things ! Well, it's the thought that counts.
