What a great time to be alive. I was born in 78, so I missed some of it. My 6 year old daughter is a huuuuge VH fan and she’s been writing that symbol on paper and leaving them all over the house. 😂
Power and drive! David Lee Roth on vocals. Perfect for the car - especially at night. The drums are just right. "Runnin' With the Devil" has that dark vibe too. Nice reaction guys!
Wrong dude. Best shows were with DLR, no argument there. They didnt peak musically til the early 90s. If u went to early shows u went to see them, not hear them. Later on u went to both see and hear them.
Let's talk about the overlooked before we get to the obvious. This was one the best rhythm sections in the history of rock Al and Mike are stone cold badasses. Dave ... Is Dave. His vocal performance is second to none... And his front man charisma is so heavy, the best part, the shining moment... Is spoken word. 'I've been to the edge..." And Eddie.... Jesus what more can be said about this fucking genius. The man is a living God of guitar. Yes, I said LIVING. Edward will never die as long as his music lives on.
I was 17 in highschool when this was released on their debut album. Still sounds great all these years later. I traumatized my two younger daughters about 10 years ago when I bought the CD and played this at full volume. Dad wasn't such a dorky old man anymore.
One of the greatest rock song opening guitar riffs. As I seem to recall they had to badger Eddie to play it because he didn't think it was any good. It was an instant hit with the rest of the band.
Hey guys I know you love guitar solos. I highly recommend Van Halen 1989 Japan tour the song there's only one way to rock, Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen solo is something you cannot miss it will give you chills all over
Eddie Van Halen was the ultimate guitar hero ! Rip to the legend EVH. Keep those Van Halen reactions coming as their music is all about partying, girls and partying and having fun ! It instantly puts me in a good mood !! In case you couldn’t get, Van Halen is my favorite group !
I remember what a VJ (Video Jockey) said on MTV back in the day: Any song that starts with a certain sound I can always tell it’s a Eddie Van Halen guitar 🎸
Everyone tried to figure out how he got the flanger to go up in pitch one time, then down the next. Eddie always said he didn't know he just stepped on it, got lucky.
Van Halen “Mean Streets” from the album Fair Warning is my choice of the best song and album from this amazing band. Van Halen 1 is the greatest debut of any band.
This is back when there were no phones or cameras and you had to stand in line for hours to get a ticket. The day after the concert, those who went were wearing concert tees that you could ONLY get at the colosseum the night of the show. Good times!
Eddie Van Halen (Guitar Goat👑👑 ) Alex Van Halen (Great Drummer) Michael Anthony (Solid bassist & hits the High Harmony background Vocals which are def a part of Van Halens sound ) and the Singer is....David Lee Roth Mr Swag himself.
So this is early VH unapologetic driving and pure to the time. These are the guys that put hardcore rock on the map. David Lee Roth in chaps and Eddie VH making his guitar speak…so psyched you dudes are into this!
Thank you both so much for bringing excitement and enthusiasm to music. It really is a healing gift. I would love to see both of you react to Chris Cornell Sunshower with lyrics. It's a great song and I think both of you would love it. Many blessings to you both and may music bless your every day!
Van Halen is a great group from back in the day. Hope you get around to listening to some Queensryche soon, "Take hold of the flame" is a great song among others!
Amazing reaction my friends!!....In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just It was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coach, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 and 5 years have passed since then, but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... The Covid pandemic stopped his concerts worldwide, all with tickets sold in just seconds, via the internet, but at the same time it ended up catapulting him to the top of popularity worldwide...Anyway, since I think you are one of those reactors who have not yet met this impressive singer, here is the link of that presentation in China in 2017, with the song S.O.S. and I would like you to mention my name as the person who recommended him to you..It is a more recent video than the others, so it does not have the same number of views as the previous ones, which have millions of views, but it is a more complete video, with an intro, subtitles in several languages and with the improved quality of audio and sound....ua-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/v-deo.html
Killer Hit The best 70's album that was my dad's favorite song I give this a 10 out of 10 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 They love this song the best Van Halen hit of the 70's George, Patrick have ever tried to play of the best songs by Dokken It is my mom's favorite 80's hit You guys should try the 1985 album: Dokken Under Lock and Key album In my dreams, Slippin Away, Lightning Strikes Again, Jaded Heart, and Will the Sun Rise And you might like to try the 1987 album: Back of the Attack album Dream Warriors and Back of the Attack it's on its 35th Anniversary of the best 80's Hair/Glam Metal If you Bro's never hear the songs of Dokken, you might like to try it
Van Halens "Don't Tell Me (what love can do)" with Sammy boy on lead vocals will get your attention. Very underrated tune that rocks..... repeat offender, great channel...
This is such a hard core Van Halen song. Love your reaction guys. Also check out "Beautiful Girls" (with lyrics) by them. Thanks so much for posting this - fun to watch you get into it!
This was off their legendary first Van Halen LP. He didn’t play a whole lot of lead guitar in the songs themselves. Maybe the band thought his guitar would overpower the melodies and lyrics. Of course, he had one track to himself on Eruption!
I’m telling you guys that if you like this ( Real Rock and Roll ), that just goes for the throat, JUDAS PREIST: Riding On The Wind will blow you out of your chairs! I’m not kidding man, it’s a very strong, badass Hard Rock Classic! It’s the band at their peak is is easily one of their best songs. Do the studio version only please. Crank it up and trust one of the Old School for once. I guarantee this song, period. I don’t do weak music, you have to hear it! I’m not wrong. I KNOW this stuff!
Great reaction guys.......this are earlier Van Halen with David Lee Roth.......try to react a song of the second era, with Sammy Hagar.... Poundcake for example.....Live version....
I like Van Halen A LOT, even saw them once back in Madison Square Garden, but Eddie Van Halen didn't do enough solos which would frustrate me, because I love them. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton & other major guitarists would all the time, and that is what I love & notices in a song. He should have it would have enhanced the song more, IMO....
I would love you to react to Swiss group Yello. Been listening to them since the 80's (have over 100 12" vinyl). Probably better not watch their videos but their songs as audio only. Guarantee you have heard some of them if you have watched Ferris Buellers or Secret of my success, Nuns on the Run. Rhythm Divine is a good one to start with Shirley Bassey. Songs from Touch have a Jazz element.
Oh, no - the Bros have discovered Van Halen - it's all over now! You guys sound like you're already on the path to that love/hate relationship so many fans have with Van Halen - that is, love for Eddie and no love for David Lee Roth. I always thought they sounded a little too "garage" but they have an enormous fan base (and great album covers).
I've never figured out where to give suggestions for reactions, so I'll just ask here. Please react to Def Leppard, especially Rock of Ages and Pour Some Sugar on Me. Pay close attention to the drummer.
Guys, I would say that Van Halen falls under the category of Hard Rock, whereas Metal Rock is something different-usually more aggressive. Hard Rock can be masculine and powerful, YES, but it has more bass and carries a rhythm that Metal just doesn’t really have. Metal is more fast-paced guitar-wise and features more aggressive screeching, screaming and deep-level howling-type vocals. Van Halen has their own distinct sound that you can recognize even if you’ve never heard the song of theirs you are listening to that’s mostly characterized by Eddie VanHalen’s style and sound of guitar playing. Once you hear a few Van Halen songs, you’ll always be able to recognize one very quickly. Imagine 50,000 people all screaming “HEY HEY HEY” with a raised fist as the floodlights fill the arena so you see every damn one of us
OH YEAH MAN
Saw them twice back then and yes I had a hoarse voice the next day! HEY HEY HEY!!!
I was a junior in high school when this came out. I remember drawing the VH symbol all over my notebooks. What a great time to be a teenager.
Same!!!
What a great time to be alive. I was born in 78, so I missed some of it. My 6 year old daughter is a huuuuge VH fan and she’s been writing that symbol on paper and leaving them all over the house. 😂

One of the greatest debut albums of all time. Right up there with Boston for me.
@@roadkill7314 appetite, ru experienced... very short list for greatest debut
@@princeofpcos9804 Yeah there are very few on that list (at least for rock) but to me Boston is #1. Just personal preference.
@@roadkill7314 oh ya, Boston is on that list
Power and drive! David Lee Roth on vocals. Perfect for the car - especially at night. The drums are just right. "Runnin' With the Devil" has that dark vibe too. Nice reaction guys!
Alex doesn’t get enough credit for his skills on the drums
Totally agree!! Has always made me so mad.
I was fortunate enough to grow up listening to these guys and watching them play in the clubs of Hollywood California.
Best VH years is 1974-1985; so many great songs, intros, & solos!
Wrong dude. Best shows were with DLR, no argument there. They didnt peak musically til the early 90s. If u went to early shows u went to see them, not hear them. Later on u went to both see and hear them.
Perfect Van Halen sound, just great music.."And The Cradle Will Rock" is another excellent pick I would recommend

Great reaction guy's.
First Van Halen song I ever heard sometime around 1979. Hell of an introduction.
Everyone tried to figure out how he got the flanger to go up in pitch one time, then down the next. Eddie always said he didn't know he just stepped on it, got lucky.
One of those albums and bands that changed rock forever!! 🔥🔥🔥

React to Romeo Delight. It is on Van Halen’s 3 album Women and Children First
When Van Halen broke it was considered Hard rock, not metal.
