OnionSkin , oh yeah, I didn’t think of that. It looks like Zelkova serratta, which is Japanese elm or just elm, and I keep saying elm. Thank you! That helps.
Surprise to see this video, I was there just two weeks ago, I bought one his large junipers, Mr. Kim was very kind and lowered the marked price. Thank you for the video.
john ortega , that’s great! Good for you! Love to have one of his large junipers! I will be back there this fall, hope I can take home another nice tree ! Enjoy your tree! 🌲
Nice video Mel! Huh, you are worried about maintaining the health of a Korean Hornbeam in Southern California!? Fear not!! With solid horticulture practices hornbeams will thrive in the heat and sun! ☀️ And, they prefer slightly dryer soil than many other deciduous including Maples and Beech. Go get one!!
Thank you Chris, I really like to have Hornbeams. But Lake Elsinore is 5-10 degrees hotter than other Los Angeles area. And colder too during winter.(well that’s good) I have tried Beech trees, Blue Atlas cedars, any spruces, even White birch, (I have one strong surviving, killed 6). And other more cold climate trees. They only last less than a year and dead after a brutal summer heatwave. Kim’s nursery location is less hotter than my area. But I will try Korean hornbeam, I really like them and maybe it work. One guy told me if I can grow Trident maple, I can grow KB. Thank you again for your recommendation, I appreciate it. I’ll get one.
Hi Sir Mel! Pinoy from Santa Clarita Ca. Who decided to start my journey with Bonsai.. Checking your Vids and got hooked right away😂.. problem ko lang, wala akong makitang Nursery na meron magagandang affordable materials... basing on your experiences alam ko naikot mo na mga Nursery dito😁 saan ma recommend mo na malapit sa akin? and also pots are so expensive... saan ako makakuha ng best deals? Salamat Sir Mel in advance! Hopefully i get to meet u and see ur Bonsai collections. Do Continue posting ur vids para sa tips and inspiration naming baguhan sa Bonsai👍🏼
Hello Marlon! Kumusta! Thank you for watching!at mabuti naman at nakakatulong ako. May video ako last spring Kung pano magrepot. Ok, any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
@@lakeelsinorebonsai1203 I have a ideal on a shipping box that is light weight but Strong. Would you like a new job to make extra money or your Club could do it?
LOELCO 81 , hello, the small ones, I saw like $30, up to $120. And the bigger trees, they from $400 to thousands, it really depends on the species. Conifers and maples are more expensive.
Hi Frank, something’s wrong with my gmail, I lost all my mails including yours. So you’re asking about Ficus right? Ok, I don’t put them inside during the winter time, they are acclimated already and can take the cold, but I check the weather app all the time and see if there will be a cold night, that for sure comes with the frost. So I just move them in my covered patio, and that helps a lot. The only thing is last winter I forgot and some of them got damage. Especially the big one, I lost a lot of good branches, fortunately it alive and now I’m growing new branches again. That’s the reason why I’m not much into ficus. For years, I always do reset.
@@lakeelsinorebonsai1203 THANKS MEL ALWAYS A PLEASURE. I MIGHT TRY LEAVING A FEW OUTSIDE THIS YEAR. FIRST TIME THEY'VE BEEN OUT SO I WAS NOT SURE. THANKS AGAIN

Hello Sir. Thanks for this Video. Have you ever go back there ? Do you know if they ship out of State? Thanks please keep the Videos coming out.
Hello Gregory! I never have the chance to go back. I don’t think they have any website or something. So I doubt if they ship out any tree .
