    I wish there's a nice nursery like that in the Fresno area. Thanks for the video.

      Hello, you know I only been to this place twice in years. And only bought a couple of pieces. They are quite expensive as well. You know the best thing I do that’s why I collected so many trees? I go find a small mom and pop nursery in the outskirts and hunt for older garden trees at the back of the nursery that’s been there for years and never sold and I got it for a very good deal. Some of them I only got for $35 or more per 15 gallon nursery pot. But Maple, pine and other popular bonsai materials are a little bit higher. Try to find a nice and fat trunk and chop it off to 12-15 inches and just grow the branches. Saves you a lot of time. I have videos of that during the repotting season.

    I love this place! So many shaded-tents and other areas that I could never see it all.
    I’ve actually only ever been to 2 bonsai nurseries (this place and another)... since I’m in south OC and all the LA ones are too far away.

      Isn’t it a great place! There are so many nurseries in this area, and it’s all packed with nice materials! I am much farther! I am in Lake Elsinore, and I consider it a road trip for us. Luckily my wife go to this nursery in Hawaiian gardens, Lakewood nursery, I got a lot of materials there. Not pre bonsai, but garden trees, 7-15 gallon. If you wanted, Ginkgos, viburnums, crape myrtles, etc, that’s the place. Cerritos Nursery is another place. Very close to HOB, but not much of bonsai, what they have are pots. I befriended the manager there, name Ken and I always get good discount. Cheers brother! Stay safe!

      @@davidkuhn9313 , hello David, the average JBP in HOB in 5-7 gal pot is $275.00, (with tax $300) , too bad the Riverside Bonsai show is cancelled this October , they always have nice JBP already in bonsai pot for that price. Last time I was in San Diego I was looking for any bonsai nursery, nothing.

    I live close by this nursery. It seems that every time I go inside the show canopy to look for bonsais to buy, the tress I choose are all either not foe sale or reserved for someone else. But Victoria is very nice and gives good advice. She also holds classes there. They have a pretty good premix of potting soil, too.

    • @lakeelsinorebonsai1203
      @lakeelsinorebonsai1203  3 роки тому

      Clifford Goodrich , yeah, they have a little bit of trees at the display area. Some have “not for sale’ sign because it already sold, but what amazed me is the plenty of materials on the floor area.

    I have a black pine from them that i bought last summer. The soil was basically mud so I dont recommend buying from them in the summer, because you're gonna need to repot as soon as possible. Those junipers looked pretty brown too.

    • @lakeelsinorebonsai1203
      @lakeelsinorebonsai1203  3 роки тому

      Yeah, my plan is go back there in late winter. There are a lot of selections anyway. The junipers are so beautiful, but needs good soil, so once you bought it, you can take care of them. Thank you ! Stay safe!

      Fun With Reefing , thank you! I’m sorry for your experience, in the first part of my video were the trees for sale in Ebay or online. They were short of help over there, nobody to ask except the owner in the cashier with long line. So I guess the customer service is messed up. By the way, it’s hard to grow Satsuki azalea here in So Cal, maybe that’s why it’s not in good condition. live an hour away from this nursery and during summer we are 5-10 deg F hotter, and I don’t dream of growing Satsuki.
