I like that with the damn in place it also quickly washes the sand off the larger rocks and leaves them expose, so when you are needing to quickly investigate what rock types or minerals are in the cobbles, you can do so without using a classifier.

Love your videos. I like the design of the Dam gold pan very much. Fine gold takes a lot of time to settle to the bottom. The flatter angle allows the dirt to spread out over a wider area and so has less depth for the light fine gold to try and work down through. Plus the constant side to side motion keeps the sand fluid like in a fluid bed and makes it much easier and gives more time for the lighter gold to settle down through. With the vibration of side to side constant motion it works similar to a small shaker table.

Was the gold distributed into the middle of each load to simulate common dirt from the stream? Test seems skewed towards the garrett as they are already at the bottom.

But ,,,,,,,it costs 10 times more than the Garrett super sluice. When I can pick one up for 15 bucks I will give it a try.

I believe there 29 dollars canadian, you also don't need to buy a classifier you just use the dams for different material so in the end it's actually cheaper.

This pan is the way to go for production panning flood gold areas where you know there is fine gold and a lot of black sand. I don't even bother classifying if I'm close to the river, which I am. I mound it high with material and go for it. In an area with a lot of black sand it destroys the Super Sluice and the Gold Claw (IMO) in speed and recovery. Period! I take a quick look to check for color in front of first riffle only, then quickly empty it in a bucket and repeat. This keeps me on the gold.
I think the inventor made a mistake in naming it (The Dammed Pan) and promoting it as a prospecting pan. It takes to long for a complete pan out to check results. It would be faster to transfer cons to a regular pan. I dont bother with the lexan dam.

Thanks for the demo. So you have a habit of losing your gold? That's twice this month.

Nice demo on the pans. Id' have been more impressed if the 15 pcs were mixed into the material and didn't start out at the bottom. None the less, good video and keep them coming.😃

Why didn't you mix the gold in with the dirt? Any pan can keep the gold at the bottom! Smh
