You should have mentioned the different ways bombs are fixated on the plane. Hardpoint or cradle as well as the position of the hard point will come into effect. Like if the bomb is hard pointed on the fuselage itll be more centered to the cross hair and wing hard points will be slightly deviated to either wing. Some Stuka have the cradle drop and that changes the drop point to a little lower than the crosshair. Still great video 😁

My biggest issue with this is the HE-111 stores the bombs vertically and when you drop them, they are delayed. I missed so many bombs before I realized what I was doing wrong and I quickly changed to the externally mounted bombs

As one of those I can confirm, when you just want to ensure a knockout, but still have planes, do a head on (fr not advised it's just a sloppy low level technique)

I used to be amazing at five bombing, but I lost that skill somehow. This really helped in my attempt to regain my 6th sense.
I used to kick so much ass with I 15 and I16 but can't reproduce it after more than a year away from the game. It's annoying tbh

You should be able to drop them with the right or left bumper (L1 or R1 on Playstation, I think?)
If not, take a look in the pause menu (or main ment) at the "controls" setting, and you can see all of your key (button) bindings, and can even remap them to different inputs.
I play on Xbox with simplified/full controls, and have them remapped to where I actually fly with both sticks instead of just letting the computer aim for me. Kinda like an RC controller.

Any tips for hitting bombs in the really chunky planes that have an incredibly low wing rip speed and also take an incredibly long time to level out after even the slightest of turns? it feels like hell trying to line up with a target super far out and hoping they don't move because any deviation means I have to wait 10-15s to level the plane out and by that time I'm usually already past them
Moving targets don’t matter as long as you have a big bomb👍

i started ground RB without any knowledge. Somehow within the first 5 hours i already figured out how to get precise kills with bombs.

This video changed my life, I have struggled for ages with CAS, always kamikazing in the process, tried the thing with the bf109, first: IT WORKS!! 2nd: tried with the 190, first it landed after the target, tried again but this time dropped the bomb at the last second just like with the 109 but with the tank spot on on my sights, BEATYFULL HIT!!
I have an idea for you, advanced RB guide for the advancing players. Those that have at least 4-5 months in game. Map positioning per vehicle type. Ammo per armour type. Proper angling per vehicle type. Each could be their own video with how much a player could learn about each. I think these are important for people to know.

@@WatchMysh sure thing, I think you've been more helpful with tips and tricks than most. Alot just tell you to get good or they only touch a certain topic but don't elaborate much on it. But those I've mentioned I feel aren't talked about enough for most players to even be able to grasp them. I'd say it took me at least 3-4 months to get the hang of some of them, and I had to learn it all by trial and error, which is what makes the game so triggering yet it's good gameplay weighs heavily on bringing us back for a new match.

Tip: if you hold right bumper (on Xbox) you get a view of where your bomb goes and it will automatically pull up and go level. It is quite useful
The tip with dropping the bomb as the target disappears under the nose of the bf 109 was the best tip I’ve ever gotten for this game 😂
Thabk you this actually helped me, my rule of thumb is to maintain 800km of altitude and then dive any enemy at 400km/h, I just point my cursor to the enemy and it works wonderfully.
That's a long thermospheric dive, though. ^^

My suggestion, play some arcade. bomb some ground targets paying close attention to where the bomb reticle indicator is. Learn its movements. Go back to realistic, now imagine the reticle is still there and where it should approximately be. Bomb some stuff, 😎. Gratz now master it.
I have my personal technic to drop bombs, I don't now how to call it but let it be high speed mid altitude bombing. The technic is to get 2-3 km altitude and then go to shadow dive with maximum speed (500-700km/h) and then drop bombs at around 1000-700m. The benefits of this that you are very fast target and you have little time over target, and bombs dropped from high speed fly strait to pointer (or very near of it) so that makes aiming much easier, and after bombs have been dropped you can do what ever maneuver you want because of speed and energy you have got from high speed drive. This is working the best with Americana fighter bombers like p-47 or p-51.

Personally I like doing something like 5:35, or even lower and usually more shallow. And no angles or airbrakes, just speed and instinct.
Fly so close to the target that it's hard to miss.
Kinda like with the walls you've talked about, except the enemy tank is the wall in this case. The bomb hits tank's side and it has no way to escape. You are so fast that you are likely to get away with it, being so low also makes it easier to use terrain as cover from SPAAs.

@@WatchMysh And is quite exciting too. The only issue is that you might sometimes do what kamikaze-47s do, except less pathetic. Either because you're rusty or because tree hitboxes suck.

Stuka bomber in the cockpit actually have a good details of how you should drop it which kinda Unique. I always go 30-45° before dropping. The bombs I learn my mistake of diving head first on lower altitude xd
Real Stuka pilots were trained to fly at an altitude of around 10k feet, fly over (and behind) the enemy in question, then roll inverted into a 90° dive, drop their payload, then zoom back towards their ground defense line while trying to carry their speed.
Phly Daily attempted to do this tactic and it somewhat paid off. Maybe you could try it with different dive bombers other than the Stuka.
7:13 I wish I knew this aiming tactics before I play war thunder it makes way easier for me to bomb my target (not for revenge but for getting kills after all of my tanks are destroyed and my SPAA)
For the firebrand you can dive about 10° and at about 450 kph tas in third person aim a little above the tip of the nose

I always use your third technique. Best suited for me
Beginner CAS can fly the A6M5. Keep the plane under 500kph and it can pull up from a dive fairly close to ground. Also you can go anti CAS later since CAS is low alt so your Zero can really shine

Or you can be like me, and do an overhead loop starting as I pass over my target, and instead of pulling up to complete the loop, simply diving straight down, dropping, then pulling out. This technique works better if you are already in a shallow dive from significant height.
Of course, in naval I look for battleships with their AI guns targeting other ships, and then fly on the deck from behind them to skip bombs into their sides with a one second delay. I have more kills in naval with my P47 than with my ships.

I watched an american how to training video for harrier pilots. they sadi come along side, roll 135 degrees into target pull hard over top and once the target disappears under the nose drop, its kind of like lobbing a football but i seems to work pretty will. especially with the breda 88
im getting so much better at bombing, im practically the best bomber at a sims match much of the time.
only things i still struggle is carrier torpedo bombing

Wait is it better to bomb from high or close, i have a tier 1 frontline bomber and when i go low to bomb i constantly get shot down by fighter planes

@@shooter1264 Air rb isn't very well suited for bombers, especially frontline bombers. You will suffer a lot. Usually people fly very high, drop their bombs and then speed away back to the airfield. On your second sortie you'll have to climb first so you're mostly dicked out of the air within a minute. I stopped flying bombers years ago because WT doesn't offer a real gameplay loop for them.
You can make them work in ground RB though

@@WatchMysh next time you're in Air rb take your hand off the mouse and watch your plane and the reticle wobble around, it's different for different maps/weather conditions. Try go into a test flight with weather conditions set to storm.

Could you make such a video with Rockets too? I can't figure out how to aim with that stupid ladder crosshair and rarely hit things, only in the Hunter F56 I can use the cockpit mode and use the lowest dash of the collimator. I am so bad with it, I mostly use bombs right now in almost all BRs even if it's only a 100kg bomb.

Rockets got nerfed super hard a number of years ago, you need direct hits with multiple rockets to destroy anything other than an open top vehicle.
I only carry then to remove AA or in addition to a bomb load

@Eric E. Rockets are just unreliable, they have programmed random deviation and their own seperate acceleration and drag factors.
They can be good if you have a few hundred of them (like SNEBs or Hydra rockets) and you can afford to just plaster a whole area with them and waste 50 or more taking out 1 or 2 tanks.
Generally, rockets will travel in an arc similar to low velocity shells like you see on the sturmpanzer, su-122, or sherman 105. Sometimes it helps to visualize those kinds of angles when using them
I like going to 6500 feet and dropping 32 bombs all at once, only dropping down about 5000 while doing so, and i am still high above and safe

Most of this I wouldn't use in War Thunder. About a 45 degree angle is what I've always used for every plane and I generally drop JUST before I start pulling up. But, that doesn't mean it works for others. Takes practice, mostly. Good video though.

yes it is. You are supposed to use them. Otherwise you would be a very easy target for SPAAs. Bombers are no small targets.

The only thing I want to know is how to not die before you bomb the enemy base. Team Fighters does not even care about Bombers. And if you are lucky the enemy will either focus on another unlucky Bomber. Or decides to not bother since you are after all, not going anywhere so he can just kill you later. Which might give you time to actually do your job.
Though in most RB I see like 3~5 on a single team and only 1 or 2 of them get to drop bombs... If only the gunners actually USE their guns. The Devs really need to fix the gunners on big aircrafts. Because you can just use the guns manually but how many times did that actually help? We all know that the gunners on big aircrafts are mainly there to scare people make them try to avoid damage and help you gain more Lifespan.
I once tried shooting a fighter manually. He went all over the place to avoid the shots even though the gunner is shitty and not a single hit shot made its way to the enemy... That was a victory though. Because I got more "Lifespan", But I missed my goddamned target. Had to do a U turn with a bomber... And that was when I got an uninvited air friends. Soon after I died before making the Delivery.
What I'm saying is make the gunners try to shoot from a far, because they can't hit anything anyway. Just give us time to do the bombing instead of trying to do something useless as a bomber. And that is self defense...
Using the gunners is sth that needs practice. There are really precise players which are quite scary if they use manual gunner control. But in the end bomber gameplay isn't really well maintained in War Thunder. There are no incentives to protect a bomber so no one is doing it. They rather go and shoot down the other bombers ... which the enemy team is also doing ... which means most bombers will be dead before the first drop.
@@WatchMysh I managed to get critical hits on a fighter with manual control. But realized that my damage is nothing compared to his. Its still annoying though to sometimes die before you drop. So my new plan is to go as high as possible even if it makes my Aircraft fly at under 190. At least then I won't be the first one to die lol.
@@DraiksDracula good plan. Your dmg also depends on which bomber you're flying. The 20s of a PE-8 are scary for example. The Lancaster on the other hand...

I'm pretty accurate with bombs, rockets, not so much. The hardest part of attacking ground targets is survival. Will you make it to the target? Probably not! Most of the time You'll get shot down shortly after the first 2 kills

i used a lot of planes w ccip n honestly that helped my muscle memory. now if im flying an older plane or something w out ccip ill just imagine the bombing reticle being there and i can generally imagine it where it would be if it was there.

Do you have any tipps for me regarding bombing with tactical bombers in realistic battles with out the bombing aim aid crosshair? I really struggle how to find the right moment to release the bombs depending on airspeed and altitude.
Didnt know pulling up will make it much easier to aim, decided to try a match and got a kill easily
What recommended bomb timer should you set? Because when I bomb I also die and my plane either gets damaged or my pilot gets knocked out. Also where do you got to change it?
When you select the plane in a match. I usually use 2 seconds.

You can. Carpet bombing caps for example is a lucrative tactic. 2-5 kills regularly. But one big bomb usually is better (He111, Lancaster, Pe8)

They aren't. It's just an anology to understand that in a fighter you're not just dropping sth that falls straight down while in fact there are more variables involved.
what about bombers that have a mechanical arm that toss the bomb?
Special case. They have like a delay to drop the bomb. I really suck with them. :(
