Sir, pl correct me if I am wrong , as per my calculation the max axial load bearing capacity of 9" X12 " Column with M20 grade is around 700 KN,
Even if I go for G+2 structure in such small space (600sqft) where the span is just 10 feet, if I applied influence area method for load calculations of individual column the max load on center column comes in range of 300 KN, if Im taking 5" Slab and 4" Brick work. Taking FOS of 1.5, 450 KN capacity column is sufficient, then why its not recommended to use 9x12 column for G+2 or G+3 structure.

Column size of ground floor of my 20 year old house is 9"x9". The mason advised us to increase it to 9"x12" for constructing first and second floors. Please tell me if it is structurally ok to do so. Thank you.

In a residential RCC building (G+2) can I have Columns only along the breath and none in between(to maximize free span)? The dimentions of all the floors are length 65feet and breath 50feet.

Agar building ka load calculation 1000kn aa rha ho aur plan me 10 columns place krna ho to column design krne k liye load carrying capacity for every column kitni assume krenhe 1000kn or 100kn ???

Sir in the video at 6:44 it's been told that as we go up in elevation and altitude the column size decreases which I had seen it practically but technically what is the reason? What if the same dimension is continued to higher floors ?

For g+3 F and G+5 what is the column size required as per thumb rule. If square column ok. In residential building we normally use rectangular. in that case how to adopt rectangular column
