Hi, To find depth: 5m/16=0.3125m and this the minimum you can have, you can’t round up the number to lower value of 0.3m or 30cm. You should round up to a higher value like 0.32m or 32cm to avoid disaster:) regards
How do we know that it can withstand stress or the load? How do you get top bars and bottom bars? Why area of column? You are discussing beam not column
Nice info. Thanks and regards. There is an inadvertent mistake in number of stirrups, you should have taken covered length also in m i.e. 2x25/1000, Else it gives wrong answer. N. K. Sharma
Bro ur teaching skills are amezing...🗣👏 But one small requast to u... Please maintain proper units throughout the problems...and one particular dout in this lecture is ...u found out the amount of steel required in terms of area but i want in terms of weight. So please share your valuable reply.Thnkq🤗
Hi Sir , There were 11pillars in ground floor due to plan change in first floor center pillar was removed in first floor plan so distance between two column became 20 feet so builder added beam which now is 20 feet long i am bothered weather it sustain load
Dear sir, how can calculate the foundation's column steel rightangle portion's length ? That means 16 mm./ 18mm/20mm steel 's rightangle length how much will come in footing.
Bars must be found according to the dia and tensile strength; decrease or increase the number of bars must be inversely proportional to one another. depth can be up to L/36 [in case of concealed beams. am I right?
😁😁😁 What a satire ,,,, Even we Indian & Pakistani engineers avoid. Blogger is not an Engineer. No need to calculate shear street, bending moment, load etc 😆😆😆
Bro, in the no of stirrups when u say length - 2xcover, the unit of length is meter which 5m and cover is 25mm as u said so how can we subtract meter and mm (i.e. 5m - 2x25mm) is it possible?
You must check the stress if it is sufficient. This is approximate not accurate. How about the sizes of the reinforcing steel bars? In ductile design the stirrup spacing at length (L) divided by four or L/4 from the column is 10 cm apart. Also the column applies to balance the rigidity. This is a method for foreman. Not for civil engineers. The city engineer will not accept this. He will not issue a building permit.
This calculation is useful only to get a rough idea. To find exact values of dimensions and steel area you must need to for more complex calculations considering loads and moment. By the way thanks for this rough calculation.
Sir I need design 19ft width 39ft length, high 18fts need to cover full roof no walls only need to cover with help of columns can u design steal for both columns bems n roof pls
Clear cover deducted Bcoz you are not use steel outer face of beam and length of beam -(2×clear cover)+1(starting stirrup in beam) So {5-(2×.025)÷spacing}+1 =5-0.05 =4.95÷0.20
@Alex 24 cm2 is the total area of steel required in a beam If need to find nos of rebers u need to take any specific dia of reber ( 12, 14,16..any. ) and then calculate area of steel for single reber using formula (3.14/4)*d*d Divide 20cm2 by above value u will get nos of reber
How can you directly assume dia of bars and also the spacing between the stirrups and then use those values. Are we not suppose to find what dia bars to use and spacing of stirrups???
Spacing between stirrups should be 6,7,8,9,10 inches it depends upon downward load. The formula to find no of stirrups =(span of beam -2 covers) +1 and divided by distance between one strriup to other strriup which shown in drawing of beam.🇵🇰🙂🙂
Great job!!!
But how to calculate the no.of bars & what dia. of bar has been provided in a Beam..
Waalikum Assalam Sir. A very useful today class. Jazakumullah Khair.
Thanks.
point of correction. In calculation of no. of stirrups, you either convert 5m to cm or change cover to meter.
I am thankful for all your good efforts, Plz can u make a video on the " How to seleect steel dia in colunm, beam or slabs" thanks
Thanks sir, to day good lecture.
How we decide the orientation of column if column is rectangular
Thanks a million sirji..... Oalaikumasalam........
GREAT JOB! What would be the load capacity of that beam? 5 tons?
Is that formula can be use for any types of beam such as CANTILEVER BEAM, SIMPLY S. B....to find out depth & breath ....?
i confused..
we are finding column D/B or for beam....?
Sir. 5m length beam, we get 0.30 m depth beam. Then in this depth add or not slab thick

@@kleinnacion5094 building will fall down😂😂😂
Absolutely 👍
Two things
1) how 24 will convert in to kg and how to find dia of bars.
2) (5-2×.025)÷0.3 +1 = 17.5
Good bro
How do we know that it can withstand stress or the load? How do you get top bars and bottom bars? Why area of column? You are discussing beam not column

I didn't understand what you mean about that to find the length and size of steel in the beam calculation. Pls explain
Is this beam depth calculate including roof slab ?
I could follow everything clearly from your video, but what is meant by cover as mentioned in formula for counting stirrups?
It is clear cover ..and as rod starts placing just inside the concrete right...length in-between bar to edge of beam..
Nice info.
Thanks and regards.
There is an inadvertent mistake in number of stirrups,
you should have taken covered length also in m i.e. 2x25/1000,
Else it gives wrong answer.

Sir, how to design the stirrups spacing.
I mean u chose 30 cm, but based on what?
Great bro

Absolutely right
For 5 meter span ,
20cm×30cm beam is sufficient ????
Yes..it's sufficient

how will be decided about spacing of stirups. is it based on guess?
(5m- 2x25mm ) how? Is this mistake or not?
Jill Jill Adventure bro 5m is de length of de beam, 2 is mean that the two sides of de cover and their cover is 25mm just assumed nothing else more.
mohamed farah ousman bro (m - mm) is false bro....( M - M ) is the correct ..see the video ji
We just need to subtract 25 mm by 1000 to make it in m
He is just doing in shortcut
Jill Jill Adventure
according to my knowledge, it should be. (5-2x0.0025)/spacing+1.
Correct
25mm....25/1000=0.025
Yes, absolutely ur right.
How we find what dia.of steel we provide ?

Sir in 4 meter length beam what should actual size of bar and what mm size of bar used
Why do you subtract the cover from both sides when the beam will have a cover on all four sides?
Clear cover deducted Bcoz you are not use steel outer face of beam and
length of beam -(2×clear cover)+1(starting stirrup in beam)
So
{5-(2×.025)÷spacing}+1
=5-0.05
=4.95÷0.20
Am happy with the teaching
It's very useful for us
