This was the absolute worst ending to the Arkham Batman we all had nightmares about. Not only do you get a throw away explanation as to why he returned as Batman, but everything that happens is absolutely out of character for him. Batman would have NEVER gotten brainwashed by Brainiac. He would've seen it coming a mile away.

Let me remind you that Batman is just a man Brainiac is an alien with higher intelligence and advanced tech. In other words, Batman doesn't stand a chance against Brainiac. There's a reason he's a Superman's enemy and not Batman's.

With now the Squad already reached to another reality, my best guess is that one of those future dlc story will be the Squad recruiting the JL members they killed from other realities and bringing them to their main earth. That could help Rocksteady redemn themselves.

Having Damien taking the mantle and trying to live up to the legacy.

I am intrigued to see what they do with the game but I really hope they have a little bit of mission diversity

Actually, it was supposed to be called Arkham Legacy. And according to the cancelled project, it was going to be two Batmen against the main villain controlling Gotham. The story was going to be similar like God of War, but with Bruce and Damien.
It's confirmed that this game is not Kevin Conroy's final performance as Batman since he's already recorded lines for the animated film Crisis On Infinite Earth's Part Three and the upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader animated show.
It's not just the last scene. Every line batman says is just out of place with his dialogue from previous Arkham Games. It sounds like a 10 year old wrote his script. I just cant connect the games together at all. They just dont feel the same.
Honestly i dont get how people can say this is the arkham verse when the continuity doesnt add up to that this is injustice verse and you can tell mr conroy didnt give the go ahead directly but they put alot of recored lines together which is why the punctuation is so off when he speaks

You know what's comforting? I don't care what they say - that hologram monologue at the beginning about joining the Justice League definitively proves that this is not Arkham Batman. None of that dialogue sounds like him. From the attitude to the actual verbiage - he never would have acted that way or made those choices. Rocksteady can say whatever they like - the two are not in the same universe.
I agree. And honestly? Up until the final fight and terrible death sequence, I actually like this take on a brainwashed Batman and his history with the League. In fact, I’m one of the heathens that actually moderately enjoys most of this game’s writing, it’s just all of the deaths that make absolutely no sense. This story would’ve been 10 times better if we were freeing the Justice League rather than killing them.
Honestly, Batman and wonder woman should have not been effected by the brainwashing, and there should have been more league members that they both were trying to stop until Batman made the ultimate move and shoved that Kryptonite into Superman’s chest

I’m honestly surprised at how bad this game’s comedic timing and overall story writing is. Something about the timing and character interactions just feels way off. It really is unfortunate too, because with such a talented cast of actors I know this game could have been written so much better.
That and I actually really like the Justice League designs. It's just such a waste of potential man. All the build up and time with the Arkham games just flushed down the toilet

Why batman would use fear gas as the only weapon ? Literally this guy should be 3 phases boss: Fear gas monster (psychologic attack) Giant mech suit to fight Superman (strenght attack) Normal Batman (quick attack since he use the gadgets)
I felt like this game should be a what-if sequel of INJUSTICE 2, remember that there was an ending that Superman become Brainiac. And instead Gotham Knights looks more suitable to be post-Arkhamverse.

At the very least give him a more honorable death.. maybe he’d be injured from the fight, and he breaks free just long enough to go back to crime alley, talk a little bit with Harley about how things went down regarding Joker, then reconcile with Harley, and then ask Harley to finish him off.. At least do something like THAT.. he didn’t have to die brainwashed like that..
I'm sure a lot of us would. However, knowing both Waller and the Suicide Squad, they would both rather have the League killed over freeing them from their brainwashing.
I like to think that Batman still had some sense of conciseness and control even while being mind controlled so he let himself be killed because he knew how dangerous he was under brainiacs control. That would make his last action that of noble sacrifice and heroic ending
Even a simple change could have acted as a ‘Hail Mary’ for this game; Leave Batman contained at Luther’s laboratory, have the Suicide Squad draw out Superman another way, & just keep Batman *alive* by the game’s end. Or if he had to die, have him be broken out of his state by Luther’s technology, & have him sacrifice himself to stop Brainiac.
I think if this game should have been a Bat Family based game rather than a Suicide Squad game. Here's my pitch, while Batman is mind controlled, Wonder Woman would have gone to the Bat Family for help regarding the Leagure since she was aware of Batman's contengency plans. Nightwing could become the new Batman while Bruce is mind controlled, Jason could help survivors and stop crime using lethal justice, and Tim, Barbara, and Alfred could figure out how the heck to snap Bruce from mind control. There could even be a subplot about how the rest of the Bat Family want to step up more but struggle to handle his legacy. It could even be revealed that maybe when Bruce faked his own death, he had actually planned to leave Gotham and spend a happy life with Selena but was afraid of what would happen Gotham and the Bat Family if he left, leading to the Bat Family feeling guilty for preventing Bruce for living his own life. Eventually, when Tim and Barbara tell Diana how to free Batman, the whole Bat Family come to fight Batman and snap him out of it (Would be cool if Barbara donned the Batgirl suit one last time ,but I would understand if she didn't), revealing how Batman helped them out in their lives. Eventually, when all of the game's events are done, Bruce realizes that Gotham is in safe hands and that his family is grown up. He gives Nightwing his blessing to remain to be Batman. He apologizes to Jason about how Bruce left him with Joker and how proud Bruce was that Jason helped people in his absence. He thanks Tim and Barbara for sticking be him even at his lowest. He says goodbye to Alfred and thanks him for being his father when no one else was there. He maybe even goes to the recesses of his mind and makes peace with Joker, stating that he did not like Joker's methods but Joker is one of the biggest reasons that Batman has evolved from a crime fight to a symbol. Joker then tells Bruce that they'll meet someday again and for him to be ready before disappearing with a chilling echo of laughter. He then asks Diana and Clark to look after the Bat Family while he starts a new life with Selena. We cut to a year later to a Bruce overlooking a large city on a rooftop at night. Selena comes by and jokes that Bruce is reliving the old days. Bruce states that the old days were fun, and there is nothing he would trade them for. However, he looks forward to a new horizon, with the screen panning to a very pregnant Selena. The two overlook the city one last time before the camera goes up to the night sky full of stars with the screen reading this, "Thank you Kevin for everything and more" Sorry this is so long. I just had a lot to say in this area. Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed my take on it.

The way Batman enters with the batarang or wtv you call it in the person's neck with the music is badass and cool tho, we finally see him kill someone.
After watching his death soo many times, I have slowly come to accepting it. In my opinion, he died at peace. Since Brainiac in this universe alters people down to their DNA instead of just their minds, redeeming Batman would have been impossible. If Bats himself would have seen what he ended up doing to Metropolis and to Robin, he would have never been the same. Batman gave the squad the knowledge needed to takeout the rest of the league. Technically, Batman was the hero of the story. I believe that Batman would have told the squad to kill him if he knew what was going down. This entire game was basically about Batman. From him stalking you through the game and terrifying the player on multiple occassions, to becoming the most powerful and nerve racking boss fight. HE IS BATMAN. Batman...Kevin Conroy.... Died OUR HERO! Nothing will change that. I respect the opinions of every gamer. All that I ask is that you respect mine. We can all agree on one thing...Kevin Conroy is and always will be THE BATMAN.
I feel so sorry for Kevin Conroy (RIP)! He gave one hell of a final performance as the Dark Knight, but it's not HIS fault that his character was written by writers that (I swear to god) were brainwashed by Brainiac.
His demeanour changed over to desperate, and over talkative from the cold calm and calm strategist. His orignal characterization is completely changed just for the sake of the plot.
After beating the giant demon bat (because it's basically just overcoming the fear gas) they should've had a part where they had to fight the real batman and all his gadgets.
This Batman is a Batman who finished the crime in one night. It is impossible for them to stop this Batman so easily. He is Justice. He is the King of the Night. He is Batman.

This is should’ve been the Gotham Knights vs The Justice League! Picture it! Nightwing, Batwoman, Batgirl (tech that helps her to walk again), and Red Hood after they convince him to help. Imagine them trying to save the Justice League as they’re shocked to find Batman, the man who founded them and a father to them, evil.
Are they not all like telepathically linked through Brainiac’s network? Why does killing Batman get Super-Man to confront them and not like, Batman being captured in the first place? lol
I do love how they did Arkham Batman up until his boss fight. Everything after that boss fight can f@&k all the way off. Nothing will beat the level of disrespect this Batman gets.
The beginning of the boss fight seemed so cool too I would’ve honestly been ok with this boss fight, if Batman wasn’t a giant Kaiju at the end and it stuck with the same scary he’s in the goddamn walls theme they had going. Like what if instead when you disable the fear gas the rest of the fight is like this: Phase1: You and your team are finally reunited in an abandoned warehouse where you have to walk through it and find Batman, you end up using the same tech he uses to look through walls and track his location every now and then but halfway through the fight it gets disabled so you’re left in the dark again making it harder to avoid his traps set in place. Phase2: Next Batman starts to incapacitate you more often by jumping behind you and putting you in a choke hold like in the Arkham games, if he finishes the animation you get knocked down instantly and he gets away waiting for his next target, this would force you guys to stay grouped together and shoot Batman when he’s on one of you before he knocks you down, he would do this from dropping off vantage points, jumping from vents and bursting through walls, even grabbing you from vantage points to leave you hanging waiting for your team to shoot you down, the counter play to this would be to destroy the vents, walls and vantage points around to decrease the chance of getting sneak attacked Phase3: The lights turn on and Batman is easier to spot in the area but that doesn’t mean he’s out of tricks yet, now he begins trying to single you all out by throwing a fear gas grenade, this will send all the players separated at a random point in the map (I wouldn’t let the ai do this too often as that would get annoying fast probably only 2 times max when his health gets lower) Then he gets shot out and it seems like you win but Batman has a contingency for everything so he sets off a device in his suit which begins to silently count down, Harley shoots Batman in the head but they begin to notice signs of a bomb and realize the place is rigged to blow so now you have to get out before the building collapse on itself I feel this pays a lot more respect to the character and what Batman represents, he’s not a brute force giant he’s a tactical genius that’s always 10 steps ahead, (also would be cool if you needed help from the bat family to beat him like they equip you with the tech to spot him or track his radio frequencies but no let’s just kill them off screen)
The only good thing I can say about this Batman is… the design is pretty cool. Especially the demon Batman, though I wished his mouth moved when he talked.

I know I wish Wonder Woman was mind controlled instead of Batman the way I see it is you would team up with Batman then Batman would either sacrifice himself and get mind controlled as well and you get to fight him or he just dies would have been way better then what actually happened to him.

Relax. Just because Batman died, it doesn't mean is the end of it. Rocksteady did mention about keeping the story more longer with future dlcs. With now the Squad already reached to another reality, my best guess is that one of those future dlc story will be the Squad recruiting the JL members they killed from other realities and bringing them to their main earth. That could help Rocksteady redemn themselves.

no matter how bad the game was, Kevin Conroy gave it his all.
It's not just the last scene. Every line batman says is just out of place with his dialogue from previous Arkham Games. It sounds like a 10 year old wrote his script. I just cant connect the games together at all. They just dont feel the same.

You know what's comforting? I don't care what they say - that hologram monologue at the beginning about joining the Justice League definitively proves that this is not Arkham Batman. None of that dialogue sounds like him. From the attitude to the actual verbiage - he never would have acted that way or made those choices. Rocksteady can say whatever they like - the two are not in the same universe.
I agree. And honestly? Up until the final fight and terrible death sequence, I actually like this take on a brainwashed Batman and his history with the League.
In fact, I’m one of the heathens that actually moderately enjoys most of this game’s writing, it’s just all of the deaths that make absolutely no sense. This story would’ve been 10 times better if we were freeing the Justice League rather than killing them.
Honestly, Batman and wonder woman should have not been effected by the brainwashing, and there should have been more league members that they both were trying to stop until Batman made the ultimate move and shoved that Kryptonite into Superman’s chest

I’m honestly surprised at how bad this game’s comedic timing and overall story writing is. Something about the timing and character interactions just feels way off. It really is unfortunate too, because with such a talented cast of actors I know this game could have been written so much better.
That and I actually really like the Justice League designs. It's just such a waste of potential man. All the build up and time with the Arkham games just flushed down the toilet

Or if he had to die, have him be broken out of his state by Luther’s technology, & have him sacrifice himself to stop Brainiac.
I think if this game should have been a Bat Family based game rather than a Suicide Squad game. Here's my pitch, while Batman is mind controlled, Wonder Woman would have gone to the Bat Family for help regarding the Leagure since she was aware of Batman's contengency plans. Nightwing could become the new Batman while Bruce is mind controlled, Jason could help survivors and stop crime using lethal justice, and Tim, Barbara, and Alfred could figure out how the heck to snap Bruce from mind control. There could even be a subplot about how the rest of the Bat Family want to step up more but struggle to handle his legacy. It could even be revealed that maybe when Bruce faked his own death, he had actually planned to leave Gotham and spend a happy life with Selena but was afraid of what would happen Gotham and the Bat Family if he left, leading to the Bat Family feeling guilty for preventing Bruce for living his own life.
Eventually, when Tim and Barbara tell Diana how to free Batman, the whole Bat Family come to fight Batman and snap him out of it (Would be cool if Barbara donned the Batgirl suit one last time ,but I would understand if she didn't), revealing how Batman helped them out in their lives.
Eventually, when all of the game's events are done, Bruce realizes that Gotham is in safe hands and that his family is grown up. He gives Nightwing his blessing to remain to be Batman. He apologizes to Jason about how Bruce left him with Joker and how proud Bruce was that Jason helped people in his absence. He thanks Tim and Barbara for sticking be him even at his lowest. He says goodbye to Alfred and thanks him for being his father when no one else was there. He maybe even goes to the recesses of his mind and makes peace with Joker, stating that he did not like Joker's methods but Joker is one of the biggest reasons that Batman has evolved from a crime fight to a symbol. Joker then tells Bruce that they'll meet someday again and for him to be ready before disappearing with a chilling echo of laughter. He then asks Diana and Clark to look after the Bat Family while he starts a new life with Selena.
We cut to a year later to a Bruce overlooking a large city on a rooftop at night. Selena comes by and jokes that Bruce is reliving the old days. Bruce states that the old days were fun, and there is nothing he would trade them for. However, he looks forward to a new horizon, with the screen panning to a very pregnant Selena.
The two overlook the city one last time before the camera goes up to the night sky full of stars with the screen reading this,
"Thank you Kevin for everything and more"

Dear Batman Arkham fans, this game is what you see if you breath in Scarecrow's gas.
After watching his death soo many times, I have slowly come to accepting it. In my opinion, he died at peace. Since Brainiac in this universe alters people down to their DNA instead of just their minds, redeeming Batman would have been impossible. If Bats himself would have seen what he ended up doing to Metropolis and to Robin, he would have never been the same. Batman gave the squad the knowledge needed to takeout the rest of the league. Technically, Batman was the hero of the story. I believe that Batman would have told the squad to kill him if he knew what was going down. This entire game was basically about Batman. From him stalking you through the game and terrifying the player on multiple occassions, to becoming the most powerful and nerve racking boss fight. HE IS BATMAN. Batman...Kevin Conroy.... Died OUR HERO! Nothing will change that. I respect the opinions of every gamer. All that I ask is that you respect mine.
We can all agree on one thing...Kevin Conroy is and always will be THE BATMAN.

This is should’ve been the Gotham Knights vs The Justice League! Picture it! Nightwing, Batwoman, Batgirl (tech that helps her to walk again), and Red Hood after they convince him to help. Imagine them trying to save the Justice League as they’re shocked to find Batman, the man who founded them and a father to them, evil.

The beginning of the boss fight seemed so cool too I would’ve honestly been ok with this boss fight, if Batman wasn’t a giant Kaiju at the end and it stuck with the same scary he’s in the goddamn walls theme they had going. Like what if instead when you disable the fear gas the rest of the fight is like this:
Phase1:
You and your team are finally reunited in an abandoned warehouse where you have to walk through it and find Batman, you end up using the same tech he uses to look through walls and track his location every now and then but halfway through the fight it gets disabled so you’re left in the dark again making it harder to avoid his traps set in place.
Phase2:
Next Batman starts to incapacitate you more often by jumping behind you and putting you in a choke hold like in the Arkham games, if he finishes the animation you get knocked down instantly and he gets away waiting for his next target, this would force you guys to stay grouped together and shoot Batman when he’s on one of you before he knocks you down, he would do this from dropping off vantage points, jumping from vents and bursting through walls, even grabbing you from vantage points to leave you hanging waiting for your team to shoot you down, the counter play to this would be to destroy the vents, walls and vantage points around to decrease the chance of getting sneak attacked
Phase3:
The lights turn on and Batman is easier to spot in the area but that doesn’t mean he’s out of tricks yet, now he begins trying to single you all out by throwing a fear gas grenade, this will send all the players separated at a random point in the map (I wouldn’t let the ai do this too often as that would get annoying fast probably only 2 times max when his health gets lower)
Then he gets shot out and it seems like you win but Batman has a contingency for everything so he sets off a device in his suit which begins to silently count down, Harley shoots Batman in the head but they begin to notice signs of a bomb and realize the place is rigged to blow so now you have to get out before the building collapse on itself
I feel this pays a lot more respect to the character and what Batman represents, he’s not a brute force giant he’s a tactical genius that’s always 10 steps ahead, (also would be cool if you needed help from the bat family to beat him like they equip you with the tech to spot him or track his radio frequencies but no let’s just kill them off screen)
you know what? fuck it. kevin probably had a ton of fun being the bad guy for once, and that's all that matters.
