I really need to finish my 500, it’s been 1 and a half years now but the main reason is because my parents can’t stop cleaning (as parents do) and lost some of the parts which demotivates me more.
Made them myself, however the playes are the same / very similar to the stock metal plate so you just need extra lf them , easily available on AliExpress . And also fmmm mod is also a known semi official mod that is the same
I think so. The metal motor mounts mean you can easily inspect the belts and you see alot of people having riding belts on ratrig and vorons, As well as it's way more solid than plastic for a important part of the machine. Probably find it most production the plates are cheaper than plastic or worth the cost in different
@@jc84com where are the default belt tensioners on the v core? I got one coming soon. And yeah I’m definitely a fan of metal parts for these printers too. Looking forward to my RR build
@@justinwalker8364 The rat rig default belt tensioners are part of the tool head, As I went down the path of booting a custom VZbot to head, I developed my own front belt tensioners similar to the voron. These can be found at printables.com, with full CAD in onshape
I don't have all wheel drive, I've never built it and I'm sure the process is really fun, I'm sure it requires a lot more tuning, I'm really happy with the speeds that I can print with two wheel drive
Those motor mounts look very clean. The visibility is amazing. Very nice!
Great info, thank you for posting! Also nice of you to show the mistakes you made - helps us to make it right on the (hopefully) first try.
Yeah I'm a big fan of the open frame flat plate mounts.
It sure does get confusing a bit with assembly and I jumbled up mine.
like the zoomed in shots lol

Nice share! Wondering if any PCBs/3DP/CNC parts may help for any upgrade work? Would love to support here. (PCBWay zoey)
do you think the motors are more fixed? over using the printed parts?
I think so.
