@James Graham It's an Irish colloquialism. Fair play / fair dues. It's a more informal way to acknowledge someone's achievement. It has pretty much nothing to do with the idea of 'playing fair'.

Why didn’t we get debates involving West, Sowell, Walters and Jackson on their perspectives over the last 30 years? Prior to the late 80’s it was far more common to see respectable debates. For some reason things shifted to platform rhetoric avoiding direct opposition of opinion that would have been very beneficial. I guess the mainstream media has been letting the public down longer then first thought.

John Ocampo, if you do read more, you’ll find that Serbs were so intensely vilified by every segment of MSM and Hollywood (CIA mouthpieces) that even brother Bernie Sanders and brother Cornell West called for bombing, whereas truth is almost diametrically different. You can also check the writings of Michael Parenti, To Kill a Nation, or Peter Handke... Bottom line, it was a US instigated war for geo-political presence in Russia’s ‘backyard’. The biggest US military base in the world is now located there.

Calling liberals milquetoasts, suggests he is harder left than he admits. Still, I agree with a lot of his economic views.

richard ouvrier idk if it means he’s harder left than he lets on. His beliefs are obviously backed by an intense and extensive education in history, economics and politics that we’ll surpass the labels of “he’s more left than that”. I’m sure his beliefs of what every country needs and what should do is very pragmatic and tailored to fit what that country needs which is dictated by his beliefs of social justice, dignity, and democratic socialism.

How do such people wake up every day of their lives to speak such truths with the level of fervor exhibited here? ...day after day after year after decade after president after war after etc...? The average human would have collapsed under the weight of such perceived hopelessness long ago. This is why West is West, Chomsky is Chomsky, Sanders is Sanders, etc... Time is seldomly as ripe as it is now to take that step beyond hope!

Dr Cornel West for President 2024 .

Why did Rose feel he had the authority to talk over and cut off Dr. Cornel West? Even at that early stage in his career, Dr. West was a formidable and unparalleled theologian, scholar, and thought leader. Rose's interruptive interview style felt disrespectful, to say the least. I don't recall him doing that in other interviews during this era. See: Toni Morrison & Rose. Yet, Dr. West was graceful and offered wisdom in the face of possible egoism. "The world's too tragic to be a naive optimist." Thank you Dr. West for offering me language to more clearly articulate this catastrophic masterpiece called life as an African American.
